Ours tell you if you get qualified teacher status at the end or not. According to our governments site the courses may vary between universities but everyone that does a bachelor of Education gets qualified teacher status at the end.

bloodstainedwings 01-24-2010 07:58 PM

yeah i think thats how it works here, at least thats what the universities lead you to believe, but my friends brother in law who is a teacher, told my boyfriend that you have to either go to buffalo or Northern Ontario. now that might have been how it was 5 or 10 years ago and these other universities just started offering teaching, but i dont know. i know that a teaching degree and teachers certificate are not the same thing here... and i think you need both to be a teacher. but im not sure.

Clover Worry 01-24-2010 08:15 PM

We can do either. I don't think I'm going to be a teacher now though. I was looking at it and I can't do the training, at least not here, because I don't have a C at A level. I got 2 Ds and an E. I think I'll just try and get to being a special needs teaching assistant. It's not as much as a teacher but it should be fine besides it's still helping kids learn which is what I want to do any way.

bloodstainedwings 01-24-2010 08:21 PM

well if your satisfied as a teachers assistant, why bother moving up? honestly, its about fulfillment and happiness, and if you take on more then what would make you happy you will be miserable regardless. so really. but i would suggest getting some sort of work term so that you can get a job afterwards. right now im terrified that im not going to find anything in my field and then my whole family will be disappointed with me.

Clover Worry 01-24-2010 08:34 PM

I'm applying for teaching assistant jobs at the moment but I don't really have official teaching assistant qualification. All the teaching assistant things seem to be vocational so you have to be working as one to do it. A lot seem to have the vocational version of what I have but then theirs says they can definitely do it mine is sort of well in theory I know what to do. :XD

I still want to finish my BA though.

bloodstainedwings 01-24-2010 09:54 PM

yeah i agree. but i thought you finished your BA... i thought that was what the whole having to pay and stuff was about.

Clover Worry 01-24-2010 10:09 PM

No I should have finished but I messed up the final year. So I don't have all the credits for the degree and I couldn't take that uni any longer and my Grandma was still ill so I got a diploma of higher education which is basically two years credits. If I do the last year I can swap it for my BA. The money stuff was because the uni fucked up the paperwork when I left and council and loans company thought I'd left before the end of the year so the wanted what they decided was over payment because of my supposed dropping out before the end of the semester.

bloodstainedwings 01-24-2010 10:32 PM

oh ok i understand now. your university works different then ours. when you dont finish, you dont get anything and they get all your money, and your credits expire in 5 years. so yeah.

i love your outfit by the way.

Clover Worry 01-24-2010 10:36 PM

You only get it if you have enough credits. I only got it because I had three third year modules they let me use because I was missing some second year ones that I failed. -_-

bloodstainedwings 01-24-2010 11:41 PM

yeah see, here it doesnt matter how many credits you have, its what credits you have. you need to have x many sciences and x many economy courses and x many social courses. stuff like that. and if you have all science and no economy you still cant graduate with a degree, you can get a general bachelor of science, but you wont be able to have a major or a focus really at all. they may not even give you a degree at all. i know that i have to do x many of whatever fields and right now im taking an extra and i have taken some extra courses and i am graduating with extra credits, but i will still get the same degree i would have even if i didnt take the extra credits.

Clover Worry 01-25-2010 04:05 PM

I don't really understand it. :XD I just did the modules I got told to do.

bloodstainedwings 01-26-2010 09:27 PM

yeah i guess that happens a lot when your in school. i know i have been through classes that i barely remember anything about. lol. some classes i dont remember taking at all, but i have a credit for it. and i think that is pretty bad. lol

so whats new?

Jeanie 01-27-2010 09:36 AM

Sorry, was at Johnny's yesterday. It was his godsons first birthday. ^_^ The one whose baptism I went to in November. He quite liked the present I got for him. Took most of the night but I got a cuddle off him just before we left. He kept coming towards me with his arms out then changing his mind before he got to me and going to his mum instead. :XD

bloodstainedwings 01-27-2010 02:43 PM

awwww thats so cute! well my sister should be having a baby in the next few years, so i get to experience the cuteness from afar. their just not as cute when they are yours, they are more annoying and smelly when they belong to you. so thats why i think babys should always be enjoyed from afar. lol

Jeanie 01-27-2010 04:03 PM

:XD Yeah, I still want one though even if they do smell.

He was a bit grumpy and tired by the time we left. I thought he would fall asleep before presents the way he was. The drum toy woke him up for a couple of hours.

bloodstainedwings 01-27-2010 06:56 PM

lol. you want one eh? does johnny want one? are you guys waiting until after your wedding? or are you guys waiting until you both have secure incomes? and just one? really.... jeanie... just one? are you going to be upset if you have two or three by accident? are you going to hate the other ones and not hate the first and then create complexes for them to deal with? do you really think there should be more people like you in the world? do you think the world needs more people? is the world even safe enough for a child anymore? i mean the UK just passed a big thing allowing genetically modified foods into their country, is that really safe?

these are the kinds of things that keep me from having a baby. that and its a lot of discomfort for a really long time. and they cost a lot of money and you lose all freedom.

as you can tell, i really dont want a baby

Jeanie 01-27-2010 07:17 PM

:XD He does and yes after wedding because if you have them before you'll never be able to afford to get married because they eat up all the money. When we're relatively secure because nothings ever really really secure where jobs are concerned. I want two but not too close together but if I get more it wouldn't be so bad. I would try not to give them complexes. :XD I'm not that bad I don't think. I don't really bother about what kind of food I get, they cheapest usually. I don't do anything that would be prevented by having a child or have any particular desire to do anything that would be prevented by having a child.

I've always wanted to be a mum eventually.

One of the council's here is getting in trouble. They're having 22 schools do a trip to the safari park and cinema and bowling and tons of other stuff the kids would really love but it's only for the kids whose parents are on benefits. Because they're using funds designed for supporting the children of low-income families but they won't let the other children go even if their parents pay. So they've got a ton of five year olds in tears because they don't understand why they can't go. Yet they wonder why people think it's better to be on benefits than actually getting a job.

bloodstainedwings 01-27-2010 08:36 PM

love your outfit XD

well ok, just to make sure you are aware of all that stuff. its important to know that your capable of taking care of that child.

and wow, i had no idea that that sort of thing was going on. i guess even i would want to be on benefits at that point. lol. it doesnt work like that here. money solves most problems and teachers accept bribes and so do the police and stuff like that. its quite unfortunate but thats capitalism for you.

Jeanie 01-27-2010 11:20 PM

I don't plan on having any until I'm quite confident we'll be able to look after them properly. Even if it doesn't fit with Johnny's "I don't want to be an "old" dad" thing cause it's tough. My mum was 36 when she had me so it don't matter to me. If I can't look after a kid properly till I'm 30 I ain't gonna have one till I'm 30.

It's apparently a pilot scheme but I really hope the genius that thought it up gets sacked. It's just a way of making even more barriers between the children and resent among the parents. Fecking moron, how did that seem like a good idea..it's not even one of those "well it seemed a good idea at the time" things. And of course the Department for children and something (they changed the name from the department for education and skills to some long ass crap name I can never remember) wouldn't comment to local paper when they asked them about it because the council says they were working to a guide set by them. We're supposed to be having a general election in June. It ain't looking good for Mr. Brown. :XD

bloodstainedwings 01-28-2010 12:30 AM

thats a good plan, because really you should be considering their well being even before they exist. and im glad you are.

and really, his name is Mr. Brown. they just doesnt bode well. one of my friends kittens is names the brown one. lol

Jeanie 01-28-2010 10:44 PM

It frustrates me the "too old" to have kids thing because you might be dead before they're 21...yeah you could have a kid at 21 and still be dead before they're 21 the only guaranteed thing in life is you're gonna croak the age you do it is the grey area.

I'm not quite as negative and cynical around children. Just in case you were worried bout that. :XD

Yup, the unelected prime Minister is Brown..he took over from Blair and hasn't braved a general election yet. He thought he'd fuck up a bit first. Course the others ain't much better so we're pretty much screwed no matter who we vote for. I get to vote but really none of them are very appealing.

bloodstainedwings 01-29-2010 03:41 PM

i got a lovely heart!!! woot!

and i hate politicians.

i have to go

Jeanie 01-29-2010 04:06 PM

Awesome.

They've all been getting in trouble here and having to make public apologies. Screwing with the expenses bullcrap. Like claiming for a second home they don't have any furniture in and haven't been to once since they bought it. One of them had to apologise for claiming money back for her husband's porn film. She made him apologise as well. They just suck in a overall low expectation kind of a way.

I changed my skirt. :XD

My Dad says I could make my own political party. I don't think I'd be very popular though. Plus I probably wouldn't be much better.

bloodstainedwings 01-30-2010 01:30 PM

wow... thats strange. i mean really... our last prime minister took millions for personal use and the country sued him for it all back and he had to pay it. now he is poor and he still has a speech impediment. lol.

i like it. the skirt i mean, not the politics.

Jeanie 01-30-2010 01:33 PM

They've been told they have to pay it back.

Our last prime minister has been explaining his decision to go to war the last few days.

I think I'll keep this outfit for a while. Might change the background and the animals and such but I think she can keep the outfit.
