She's three years and three months, full of fire and brimstone tonight. She's going through the "no" and "not listening" phases right now. I dunno what I'd do if my husband and I weren't on the same page parenting wise. We tend to be able to calm the other when our resolve chips. He's getting her to bed now as the bedtime routine was what she decided to stall and dig her heels in on tonight. :P I know twenty years from now I'll miss this.

Aww, that's a great age,
That's nice that your husband is a pro-active parent.
My daughters dad was really not as involved when our daughter was little.
He worked hard, but I swear I could count the number of times he changed a diaper
or bathed her on one hand, lol.

I'm really lucky in that we split it. In the early months when I was nursing 24/7 he'd do his part by doing diapers, and we almost always did the baths together. One of us would run for towels and whatnot while the other washed. xD I do miss the early early days... makes me want another!
Do you have more than one child?

That's terrific. There is so many little things a parent can miss by not
being there.
No, my daughter is my only child. I would have liked to have had another, but it
just didn't happen.
I do have two step sons. One a little older than my daughter and the other a
couple of years younger.

Do any live with you guys?
I would like to have another, but right now isn't the time. I'd like to get a savings account going. My girl was "lucky" in that she had me 24/7 until 18 months, and then she had just part time daycare until age 2. I wish she wasn't in full time right now, but I don't have many options.

Just the older son lives with us.
My daughter lives in the same town as we do, so I see her pretty often. My husbands son lives in a neighboring
town, but we do see or here from him much,
I think girls are different like that. Even though I lived in a different state than my mother {when I was an adult},
We talked on the phone with one another every other week, until her death.
I understand how the whole having to work thing is. My daughter had to go into full-time day care when she was
6 months old. It really helps kids learn socialization skills at an early age though.
I'm sure that you and your hubby are already doing a great job at being parents and giving her lots of great
childhood memories.

Thanks. :) And you're right about socialization. It helps kids!
What are your plans this weekend?

I have to work all weekend, but I bought some gift cards for the kids today.
That makes much of our Christmas shopping done.
Do you have any plans?

Yesterday we bummed around. Today I think will just be a catch up day.. laundry, groceries, and all that. I kind of want to get out and window shop or something. >>;

I'll be doing the catch-up thing tomorrow, on my day off.
Oh, Sunday would be a great day to window shop.
I have to leave for work in a few minutes. You have a great day, Chi.

Have a great day too! I'm cooking dinner ahead, just in case we do go somewhere. Dishes are done and now I'm working on coffee. :P I'll start the laundry in a bit... but it's my least liked chore! Hubby did it last week so it's my turn regardless.
Catch you later!

I got home from work a bit ago, just watching football with my hubby.
We're having soup and sammies for dinner, so no real cooking.
That's nice that your hubby helps with the laundry too.

We managed to get all the chores done today... so bring on the work week, I guess. :P

It was really nice and our team won!
That's good that you got your chores done.
I think I know what I'm going to make for the Mene holiday baking contest.
I'll have to wait until Tuesday before I'll be at the store for the ingredients, though.

I found a copycat recipe of Starbucks cranberry bliss bars.
They have a lot of ingredients, but they look divine.

Oooh, that sounds tasty!
Part of me wants to make the citrus pound cake I made a couple years ago. It had a white chocolate ganache on top.

Ooohh, that sounds yummy too.
I want to make some chocolate chip biscotti, also.
Biscotti is so easy and fun to make. I even made the dogs a version, last holiday season.

Last year was my first time making candy. I decided to make candy for a lot of extended family for gifts. I made chocolate covered cherries, truffles of all kinds (pumpkin, oreo, and the such), Reese's peanut butter bars, nanaimo bars, almond joys... we were buried!

Yum Yum!
I bet everyone really appreciated your candy gifts.
Are you going to make it again this year?
I should make some candy too. I used to make butter nut toffee every year.
I really haven't tried it since I moves to Colorado. The high altitude may make it
trickier to get the soft crack stage right.

I love to cook, which includes baking and "making", hehe. It relaxes me. This year unfortunately I don't think I'll do much. We're all tired out for some reason, so the family is going to do more potluck type things for the holidays and just enjoy the company of one another.
This year is also the first year my husband and I are really making our own Christmas away from/in addition to the family gathering Christmas. I'm excited!

Potlucks are awesome. Makes it much easier and affordable for a crowd, too.
Aww, that's nice. Christmas for your little family.
I think I forgot to tell you, my daughter got engaged Thursday afternoon.
She called me and was so excited. They haven't set a date yet, but are going ring shopping this week
or next.

Thank you so much.
She was engaged once before, but he turned out to be a real jerk.
Her fiance is a great guy with a good job. His family just adores my daughter, too.
