Admission Preference to Orphans and Indigents
At our major entry points a portion of new spaces are reserved for applicants identified as either orphaned or indigent. These children do receive some special consideration for admission, as directed by the Will of Princess Bernice Pauahi Bishop. However, this does not mean that all orphaned or indigent children will automatically gain admission to Kamehameha Schools.

For the purposes of admission to Kamehameha Schools, "orphan" is defined as a child who has lost one or both biological (natural) parents through death. Children in single-parent households do not qualify as "orphans" unless the absentee parent is deceased. To verify orphan status, the deceased parent's death certificate must be submitted to the Admissions Office.

"Indigent" is defined as a child whose immediate family's (parents/legal guardians) total household income is at (or below) 185% above the federal poverty level with cost of living adjustment for Hawai`i. To be considered in the indigent category, parents must either submit a copy of their 2005 federal tax returns including W-2 forms or, if the family receives DHS assistance, parents may submit a copy of their letter from DHS showing proof of current coverage for welfare/TANF. Foster children are "wards of the state" and, as such, are considered indigent with verification of their status from DHS.

Kamehameha school and estate is totally rich tho. They own a lot of land in Hawaii (and since land is expensive in Hawaii, they're filthy rich). edit: and yush you still need to be hawaiian XD

I'm pretty sure they give lots of huge grants to students. It's an honor to get into that school. The students are perfectly behaved because it's such a luxury and no one dares get kicked out.

Free school with top-of-the-line equipment and supplies plus free buffet lunches everyday. I think all the students are given free laptops?

My cousin used to teach there for a bit. He said it's godly teaching at that school... the students are so well behaved o.O;; He also got free lunch everyday and any supplies he could think of.

I know, I was thinking back to that *ahem* as well. xD Well I understand that she might think of the exchange as her home forum, as do a lot of other people, but I'm just a little tired of people imposing what they want on other people who are totally happy with the current situation. Like the guy who wanted gold for posting in the exchange to be removed just because he was sick of seeing other people chatting in his thread. Not once did he ask them to leave his thread or cease their chatting. There are lots of simpler solutions to people's problems, yet some don't hesitate to jump to the extreme solutions.

Skull earrings are 50g. ^^ If you want a pair, I'll give you mine! ;) I only really bought it because some guy wanted to see if they'd work with his hairstyle.. so yeah, I bought them so he could try them on. xD
