That's not too much left on the house Eroy. You could get it all done pretty quickly once you do your kitchen floor.
Yeah, if he doesn't get a raise, he'd better ask for one, for sure. :) I'm sure they'd give him one though. Too bad he doesn't have another evaluation until next year, right?
Hey Cami! *waves* How've you been?

Ya. I'd like to be able to do that too but I've been really having to pinch pennies since we bought the house. I'm sure I'll have more when things settle with that though.
We do need more sellers. Bartuc is really good about buying in bulk but even he said he may not be able to buy much this month. ;-;
Siz ~ Ya. It's just that floor.. it's so foreboding.. It'll be a lot of work.
No, unfortunately not.. Reviews are in June so he's still got a ways to go before then. But at least he'll be really solid with what he's doing and will probably have more confidence in asking for a raise.

/waves at Sizzla/ Busy. Been finding more time to be on Mene, though, which is good. How about you?
Eroy: Yeah. It starts seeming like a lot of money quickly. XD Like I think, Maybe I'll buy five sets to sell. That's only 25 dollars a month. I could probably manage that.
...
But I usually buy my sets with gold. I guess I could just buy mine with cash, and then other people can buy the ones I buy with gold, but that's not really selling them.
Well, so I guess I could donate for the sets I would get as well as some to sell.
And then I start thinking there's no way I'll be able to justify that. <<,, Not if I'm still living in a big city working an entry level position.

Ya.. lately I've only been about to afford $10 a month to mene so I tend to keep the sets I buy. If I could buy more sets I'd be more willing to sell them I think ;-;
Ya dude.. life after college is so expensive. When you first start your job it's like you have so much more money than you did in college.. but someone everything gets more expensive! Suddenly you've got a more expensive apartment, and you've bought a new car, and you bough furniture on credit that you're paying down. It's amazing that I used to be able to stretch $800 a month in school and now I can barely afford my life making 3x that!
Well guys, I'm headed out to lunch. I'll be back in a half hour or so. *waves*

My mom keeps saying things like that I'm going to need 45K a year to live in Boston, and that San Fran and New York are even more expensive. I know I'm not going to make that much in an entry level job. I think she's overinflating it, but who knows. <<,,
Have a good lunch.

@Eroy: I think the floor won't be as bad as you expect... I mean, you learned something from your bathroom floor experience, right? Surely you could take care of the kitchen more efficiently.
Have a good lunch!
@Cami: It's good to be busy sometimes. :D I've been doing okay, except for this annoying problem with my ladyparts, like I was talking about to Eroy earlier. Other than that, I have few worries. XP I'm trying not to sweat the economy problems we're having at least.
I would say that 45k a year in Boston is totally reasonable. Life is expensive yo! And you would need even more than that in San Fran or NYC, for sure. My friend lived in San Fran for awhile, and his rent was $800 a month, and that was living with two other people in a two-bedroom apartment. O_O So $2400 a month, just for rent. That's CRAZY IMO. I pay $475, and I couldn't really afford too much more than that really. It's good I found a cheap place to live...

XD I pay 724 a month living with two people, and that's not including utilities. I haven't lived in this new place long enough to really know how much it will be when we turn the heat on (damned oil heating), but at my old place, it added up to almost 900 per month total. At least 850.
Food is the killer though. If I can manage to spend less than 5 dollars per meal, I consider it a success. x.x The price of all my vegetarian stuff has just increased (morningstar went up a dollar per package).
I am worried about the economy, mainly because I'm looking for a job now. I'm going to want to find work by January, and things aren't looking great. Scholastic, the publisher that made billions off of Harry Potter, started a hiring freeze a couple of months ago, and is now laying people off. That's just one company of course, but I worry that it's reflects the state of affairs.

OMG I typed this long post to you in quick reply and then tried to backspace a couple of lines and my browser went back instead of the line. :x And when I went back forward, there was nothing in my reply box. :( FAIL! Boohiss!
That's a LOT of money for an apartment for two people. OMG where do you live!? I couldn't afford that at all -- unless I didn't have a car payment. God, I can't wait until January 2010. That'll be my last car payment. woo! But anyways, I can barely pay my $475 a month for my place. I could probably manage if they raised the rent to $525, but I couldn't do much more than that.
Heating at my place isn't too bad. I try my best to keep just the space heaters on as long as possible during the fall. Last year my highest gas bill was about $200. But this year, maybe it won't be so bad since gas prices are falling and all. I guess that's one good thing about the economic downturn.
I have noticed that food is more expensive than it used to be... Produce especially. I can see how that'd be difficult for a vegetarian that relies on produce. Ugh.
Well, hopefully you'll be able to find a job... I'm glad I have a job, because I'm not sure I could get much of anything right now, though I guess I do know a company who is hiring magazine associate editors. I'm sure competition would be fierce though. I wish you the best of luck with your job hunt!

I wouldn't be surprised.. Living anywhere on the East or West coasts is going to be expensive. Hell pretty much anywhere but the middle of the country is expensive.. My sister lives in Minneapolis and she pays a butt-ton for rent too.
I'm sure you could make it on less than that.. it would just be difficult. You'd need a lot of roommates to help foot the bill.

Ya.. We did. It just takes a long time and is a lot of work. I'm sure we could finish it in a weekend if we really just did it, ya know?
Thanks! We went to Fire Wok.. yay for cheap chinese buffet. At least I didn't over eat though. :sarcasm: I always overeat when I got there but I did really well today. XD

Holy shit dude! That's more than I pay for my half of my mortgage. :insane:
Ya, I noticed that about the Morning Star stuff too. I love their buffalo wings though so I'm willing to pay the extra $1 I guess. Damn food is getting expensive. My weekly shopping bill for matt and I has gone from $60/week to $80/week.
Ya.. I'm really glad I have a job at the moment. It would be really tough to find a job right now. ;-; I wish you the best of luck in getting a job as soon as you can. I'm sure you'll do great though you seem pretty motivated to me. :glomp:

I don't think I could have more experience trying to get an entry level job. XD At the very least, I know I'm qualified.
I live in Boston. Tis expensive. In three years of living in big cities, my rent has done nothing but go up. It was 600 dollars my first year.
Luckily I don't have a car payment. As long as I stay in Boston or New York, I can live without one. I might need one if I move to San Fran though.
Bah. Lots of uncertainties. I'm sure things will work out though.

Yeah, most of the time in the publishing industry, they don't want to wait on you. At least that's what I've found in my industry segment of the publishing industry (magazine publishing).
I probably looked for a job for a month and a half (and had two interviews) before I got my current job. Thank god it wasn't much longer than that, because I was getting really stir crazy living with my mom while I was between jobs and moving.

Yeah, I guess that's true Cami. There are a lot of people vying for journalism jobs.
I feel like I got really lucky at my job. I get to do way more than I would at a larger company (we only have six employees here), which makes me happy, because though editing is okay as a job, I rather like being able to design ads, postcards, lay out my magazine, edit AND write. I get into all parts of making a magazine. :D
