Karayna: When I was 12ish, my friends and I rode our bikes down the highway to the mall. This was aboutish a 20 minute ride by car, so it was a fairly long distance. I remember us being certain we were going to get in trouble the whole way. Man, I was just craving chocolate milk too. XD Except that I never actually drink chocolate milk. I walk down to the Starbucks and get a chocolate frapachino. Same thing. Ish. Well, I guess someone saw my two friends and mentioned it to my mom, who asked if I'd gone too, and I of course said no. I never thought she actually believed me until about a year ago when my brother said something about the time my friends and I rode our bikes to the mall and my mom said, "No, that was just her friends. She didn't go." |

I have a bad habit of lying impulsively because it seems like the easiest course, often times in circumstances where it really doesn't make sense. For example, just a couple of months back, while I was visiting my parents, I had to get some medicine. It was just two pills that you took at once. We were leaving from my parents to visit my grandparents, and my dad asked if I had my medicine. I responded that I'd already taken it. He didn't realize it was just a one dose thing and said, "But do you have the rest." I could have quite easily explained the circumstances, but instead I said, "Yes, in my bag." I gained nothing from lying, and yet I did it anyway. And then of course I feel bad. <<,, |

Cami ~ Methinks lying in that fashion is just a way of simplifying life and allowing things to run smoother. While it does not explain everything to everyone, it gives them the jist, especially if you know that it will be difficult to explain something to someone.
