Hathor, or Khepri.

[N]ightmare 08-18-2009 08:17 PM

I like Kathor myself. Always have. :3

I has two peoples clinging to meeeeeee!! -floats around Cami's tower ship-

Cami 08-18-2009 08:19 PM

Hathor, totally.

I'm now imagining us illustrating a sci-fi version of Rapunzel.

Silver Magi 08-18-2009 08:29 PM

Hathor it is. xD;

[N]ightmare 08-18-2009 08:33 PM

Hehe... I liked Rapunzel. He got his eyes scratched out!

M i n u x e 08-18-2009 11:03 PM

Hey everyone!!!

You have really nice avi art in your signature Cami.

Ooo Rapunzel. I sort of remember that story, although I am iffy on many details. xP

Cami 08-18-2009 11:13 PM

Thanks, Min. ^-^ Vah made it for me.

Vah: You either have a misplaced pronoun, or you've turned Rapunzel into a guy. D:

Magi: Ooh, you're looking good, but I don't think you're Hathor. XD

Waffle 08-18-2009 11:21 PM

Eh. I always thought Rapunzel got too crazy with the hair growth formula. I'm surprised she never cut it off and used it as a rope to climb down. But no, she uses it to drag some fruitcake riding a horse up the tower.

[N]ightmare 08-18-2009 11:22 PM

Nyuuu.. Rapunzel had her hair chopped off and abandoned in the woods. Her Prince, who's the HE, fell from the tower and scratched his eyes out in the thorns.

-nodnodnod-

Oh and suppossedly she never tried to escape, because she never knew there was anyone other than the witch in existance. She was a sheltered little brat. So how she knew what marriage, skein of silk or anything such as that is, i'll never quite figure out. Old folklores had a lot of missing plotholes.

Silver Magi 08-18-2009 11:22 PM

@ Cami - I was Hathor, but now I'm Khepri. xD;

M i n u x e 08-18-2009 11:27 PM

@Cami: O I see, it's a vector and I really do like vectors.

@Nightmare: What version of Rapunzel is that? Because I remember reading a short Rapunzel book and it definitely wasn't anything like that.
You are right that old folklores have many plotholes.

@Waffle: Maybe she didn't want to cut it off to climb down because she loved spending all her time combing her hair? xDxD

Waffle 08-18-2009 11:30 PM

Nightmare :: I liked how she, a dainty little thing, was able to support the prince's weight.

Minu :: oh yeah, if my hair was that long, I'd spend all day combing it. Who knows what's climbing up there.

OH. I got some vector art if you like it so much. haha A friend drew it for me.

The actual Grimms Rapunzel.

The prego wife makes her husband steal rapunzel [the plant] from the neighboring witches garden every night. He gets caught and promises the witch he'll give her his daughter for his own life. The witch takes the childand locks her away from the world in a tall tower. Hair trallalalaaa.... prince hears Rapunzel singing, climbs up hair after seeing witch do so. Rapunzel and he scheme to run away together by making a rope from skeins of silk he's suppossed to bring to her every evening. Rapun spills the beans about hte prince being faster than the old witch. Witch cuts hair, casts Rapun to the desert. Tricks prince and he falls from the tower stabbing his eyes out in thorns. He wanders lost for a few months. Hears Rapun singing, foloows her voice. Rapun sees him, cries and her tears restore his eyes. Lalala... happily ever after.

Cami 08-18-2009 11:36 PM

Vah: XD I know that's the prince's eyes were scratched out. You still had a misplaced pronoun as the prince was never mentioned in your post.

All of the old Grimm fairy tales are wacked out.

Waffu: Ooh, that's so cute.

Minuxe: In Into the Woods, Rapunzel ends up going crazy after being saved by the prince because she'd never been anywhere but her tower and she's terrified of everything.

Magi: And now you're changing again. D:

Waffle 08-18-2009 11:37 PM

oh goodness. Rapunzel cured the blind. haha

M i n u x e 08-18-2009 11:39 PM

@Nightmare: O ya I have heard that version of Rapunzel before.

@Waffle: O yes for sure, if you leave it alone for even one day things like mice will make a home there! D:
Such pretty vector art!!! <3333

@Cami: O I see, that's so funny. xD

[N]ightmare 08-18-2009 11:46 PM

Cami ~ Bah Rapunzel is the name of hte story, so my stating that he got his eyes scratched out isn't correct nor incorrect. Just comfusing to some.

That's like saying you can't say this. Bambi made me cry. She got shot.

To those that know the story, it makes sense. To those that don't, they likely think this Bambi is a girl. LOL!!

Minuxe ~ Yup, very common version, as it's the normal un-censored version.
Grimms Fairytales kick butt.

Cami 08-18-2009 11:55 PM

Minuxe: It's a hilarious musical. It combines all kinds of fairy tales (Grimm's versions). In the first act, there's a song where the two princes (brothers) meet in the woods and talk about the girl's they're after. One wants Cinderella and one wants Rapunzel. It's all about the agony of not being able to have the one thing you want, and why does she run from me, and how do I get up into that tower.

And then in the second act, after marrying Cinderella and Rapunzel, they meet in the woods again and sing basically the same exact song, but now it's about Snow White and Sleeping Beauty, and the one girl you want being asleep and there's nothing you can do about it, and oh well, guess we should go back to our wives.

Silver Magi 08-18-2009 11:57 PM

@ Cami - I know. D:
I can't make up my mind. ;-;

And about Rapunzel books.
I think I might have an old Grimm's fairytale book from about 20-30 years ago. XD
I may have sold it at a used book store, but I used to read it all the time.
I really loved Aschenputtel, kind of an alternative Cinderella story, and the other one I really liked.. I can't remember the name. D:
But I always loved it. <3
