Yah my MIL came over for some BBQ chicken. The kids didn't get her until the Thursday after, but I spent about 20-25 bucks and did a couple of pretty nice easter baskets for the two of them. ^_^

I look forward to this being the last year we can't afford to do stuff on the holidays. I'm very much looking forward to Christmas this year.

Got the food pantry packed up, and a few more things. We're not going up to the new place tonight as planned, but rather going bright and early tomorrow. Terra hasn't napped yet, so she'll crash early tonight. We'll take advantage and pack more while she sleeps. XD

if you can afford clothes boxes it helps when you get to the new place
if you run out of room you can store clothes in them and tuck the away

We're taking clothes in trash bags for the time being. Boxes and totes are expensive. We got enough for the kitchen stuff. We don't have furnishings to move, thank goodness, but everything else adds up. We're going to move with what we have packed so far and come back for more later. I'm hoping if we leave early enough we'll get back to this house by dinnertime to do a little more.

With any luck we'll be moved out Monday morning, going back next weekend to clean.

The other thing that may be cost effective is checking with your local grocery store. They usually have tons of boxes they will give for free, as long as you catch them before recycling day.

Heck when we've moved, my husband has actually gone to the McDonald's recycling bin (it's all cardboard, folks, before you're like ewwww.) and brought home plenty of cardboard boxes that way. He'd always pop in and let them know what he's up to in case staff get a little weirded out, but typically it's OK. (Surprising as I would of thought they'd say no just due to a possible lawsuit...even though that's something that neither one of us would do...I guess if we were they would deny giving us permission...Who knows.)

or try any local store
i stocked at KMart and i would have gotten you great boxes.
just go in and ask for the stocking manager and ask them to set aside boxes for you.

Yep! They're usually more than happy to do so for you, as it all gets recycled anyways. :D

Some of the most interesting boxes are the boxes they get wine in. They have little seperators for each bottle, and are great for packing breakable cups. :)

We used reusable trash bags for most of it and old Amazon boxes. We have the kitchen moved and unpacked, and Terra's bedroom moved and unpacked. We're packing up the rest of the stuff tonight in hopes we move it all tomorrow. Fingers crossed!

So tired. I can't wait to have a weekend again where we're not out straight. >_>

I can imagine, Chi! Packing is no fun. I had to do it a couple years back to this place, and it was not fun.

It's funny every time I do move I seem to find out that I'm terribly adept at cramming crap in the tiniest of places...and I hold onto the dumbest things. I'm not bad enough to be on a show of the hoarders, as I will throw away stuff like hamburger cartons and used soda cups...junk like that...but if I THINK it may have a use, I stash it. D:

I used to stash everything, but stopped after the move before last. I just tossed a bunch of stuff from the bathroom just now, too. We've been here since November 2011, and since then we've not used a lot of toiletries in 12+ months. Tossed 'em. No point in taking them to use up space, hey?

I'm happy everything we took (all the food--perishables and non-perishables) was fit in with ample space. Eee! Same with all the dishes and pots and pans. Just enough! ^-^

We do a lot of that as well, more so with food. The toiletries were expired, so no guilt there. I'd feel more for giving them. XDDD

Got other bad news yesterday that's put me feeling more sensitive than usual. I think that's why I went a bit crazy on Facebook. If they remove me from my friend's list, they weren't my friends in the first place.

I also do not mind some of those types of posts as long as you aren't going crazy with it. Those couple of people were just that's ALL they would post about. One guy 5-6 times a day, at least it seems. *sighs*

What was the bad news?

We're moved, for the most part. We're staying here tonight at any rate. It's my hope that after Terra's to bed, we can measure and make sure the bedroom set I picked out fits. We'll need to bite the bullet and order a dining table as well.

Time to get unpacking more... x_x Can't wait for our couch to come. We've been sitting in camping chairs, which, however nice... aren't the same. xD
