I hear ya, though. Some days I worry about grad school. It just gets me nervous in the tummy. x.x;
Did your letter with the coffee come yet? Juru's made it, but well, she's in the states. xD

Oh no it didn't. I forgot you were sending me coffee. *phail*
Maybe it'll come Monday morning, and I can have some before classes start!
And then while I'm sipping it think "Mmmmmm Chi.." :drool:
Does Juru like it?
It took me almost a week to get my registration cards from my school, and they're basically right next door.
And where should we run to? I'm thinking Norway or Egypt.

She said she did. XD I assume you put soy milk in yours due to your intolerance? I make really nice soy lattes with it. The Italian is reaaaaaally strong, but the Columbian is milder. I put in one Italian and two Columbians to see which you liked. You may hate both. XDD
A week? Wow. x.x;
Mmm, how about Egypt first, then when we tire of that, THEN we run to Norway?

Do you have to mix them with milk? O.<
I can't use water?
And I'll have to see, I can drink a lot of coffee, but coffee in Europe is stronger than in America.
And good idea, we can go to Egypt, then when we're too hot, we can go to Norway!

Hey Rando are you suppose to be dressed up to look something like Balthier? For some reason you kind of remind me of him. :XD

I'm not a Japanophile. xD
I have little to no interest in Japan. *shot*
And no, not really. That's Final Fantasy isn't it?
I am kinda going for the aviator look.

Yep Balthier is FF12. You could pass as him...I think.
Japan is where all the really cool video games, manga and some toys (Tamagotchi anyone?) come from....Of course it's awesome! :cry:

Rando, you can mix the coffee with hot water. I was just curious if you ever add milk (or soy milk, like I do) to your coffees. :3
I think I put some smartassed instructions on paper, but that might have been for Juru. xD I don't even remember what I said in the letter, but undoubtedly I made an idiot of myself.

I might need to pop it in and play it then...Hubby has tried to get my interest but lately I have trouble with games that require me to put lots of hours into them. I kinda like the ones I can pop in and play for a little bit and put it down for several months and I'm not like now where in the story am I? That and I think that the battle system looks like it isn't as cool. I miss the old school turn based battles.

You do need Japan! You need the Pokemon goodness and all the really cutesy characters that is in Japan culture! Domo-kun anyone? Besides, this website is influenced by anime and manga styles too. Don't discredit Japan! :XD

Yep, water will be fine. ^^ I make mine with water and then just add sweetener (usually Agave) and soy milk. <3
Izumi, I was intimidated by the battle play at first. I really was. Like you, I prefer turn-based RPGs (FFIV and VI are my favorite RPGs of all time), but I got into it. The use of the gambits makes it fun in XII. :3

Japan is so plagarised from another culture. So totally.
And I mean, I like the anime and food and all, but I'm just not as obsessed with it as most. xD
I attempted being the whole otaku and learn Japanese, but it didn't work out.
I don't like the language. xDD
Edit: My mom uses agave. I'll probably just add sugar and MAYBE some coffee milk if it's still too bitter.
The Dutch like straight up black coffee. D;

Like which culture did it plagiarize from? O_o I use to be like Miss. Otaku-want-to-live-in-Japan, but now I prefer it here and just feeding my otaku cravings by collecting tamagotchis and borrowing anime and playing videogames. I get my daily dose of vitamin O. :XD

*hufflelumps on Rando* XD
I love the Japanese language. I don't know it well, but I've self-taught myself since I was an early teen. Stemmed from anime of course. I do want to go to Japan some day for the culture experience. But, I also want to go to England and Ireland and everywhere else, so who knows.
I'd go to Peru but my friend went there to teach English and it about killed her. x_x

There's a reason you know why they are so influenced by Western Culture. They were occupied for a time by the Allied forces, which resulted in much trauma and reorganization of their nation. Not to mention the fact that our policy here in the U.S. is to perpetuate our beliefs and culture and system so that everyone else in the world believes the same thing.
Because of our attempts to export our culture, we can hardly complain when someone adopts our system and then evolves it into something better. Hell most of our best cartoons and games are from Japan. Even some of the stuff you wouldn't think is Japanese is actually made there.
I think there's some people researching how Japan got out of the occupation and became as successful as it is now in an attempt to help Iraq and Afghanistan recover after the war. Which I think is a great endeavor. But more than that, I wonder if there's someone out there looking at Japan and wondering how we can "plagiarize" their culture in an attempt to make our own better. If they can do it to ours, why can't we do it to theirs?

That's a good and interesting point, Alexi. We tend to invent shit and Japan makes it better. Take the car for example. I know all the foreign brand cars kicked butt in that 'cash for clunkers' scheme. All the old cars turned in? American brands. Can't say I'm surprised. I want a little rice burner of my own. :XD
That and the gaming god who created Mario lives there, and Uematsu is a fricken genius. Japan has many wonderful things come out of it since its 'reformation'. It got on the bandwagon and played our game. :XD

I think a lot of countries have influenced each other over the centuries, where globalization came into play. Some for the better, some for the worse. Ultimately though I think each success is attributable to the sole culture.
I do wonder sometimes if the US in particular will ever shape up some of it's... less admirable sides, I guess. But every country has its downfalls. x.x;
