Hehe yeah. XD He rushed through them. but there wasn't a lot to write down.. he's very repetitive in the notes he gives unfortunately.
I still need to take notes from the textbook though.. I should be doing them now.

OH man, I'm totally not with you on that one. I hate reading science textbooks. Though, you may be with me by the end of your first year in vet tech school. It gets to be a bit absurd when all you read is science text. Heh.

Yeah.. XD Probably... though .. before this year.. I never read textbooks. So.. maybe my habbit will change back and I'll be back to hating it... XD Which is never a good thing.
I'm going to see if I can borrow a book on Cat anatomy and such from work to look over and such.. I don't have money to buy anything right now.

Blech. Horribly. It's almost like it wasn't meant to be.
First off, Wednesday, I had one at the other place at 2pm. I arrived at 1:45, and noticed I didn't have my checkbook or my permit. I had Aaron run back to get it. He got back at 2:05pm and his mom jumped into the car and ran it around the block. Meanwhile the girl doing the test (who couldn't be any older than I was) said she couldn't wait around for her to come back. (MIL's engine in her car is a bit touched and needs to warm up or worry about it stalling.) Well we got the check back from her and walked off, apologizing profusely to MIL for making her come out and meet us for nothing. We got home, did some research and found the part he needed to fix the issue with the blinkers was a $16 part - we got it and fixed it. Thought we were golden so I scheduled an appointment at 10:00am today at Kmart. Well we got there 10 mins early and no one with cones or with signs saying they were from the testing agency. I thought maybe they meant the old Meijer parking lot, as NO ONE goes there and there would be even more room - so we zipped over there and back (since no one was there) and we were 5 mins late but saw her still setting up. So we waited for her to set up, she started to test the vehicle and notices the top break light had burned out! She starts giving me her phone number and says call me and we'll retest later (with the $45 for testing fees ALREADY given to her...and nonrefundable!!). So hubby runs in Kmart like a mad man and buys the replacement light and quickly installs it. So we're good to go. Well the first part of the test is in the parking lot. I got zero points on the very first thing - coming to a stop. The next part is parking backwards. Well I backed in crooked and ended up slightly going over the rope in the back (but not hitting any of the rods, and I pull slightly forward to fix my parking job. Pulling forward gave me another point, so I'm sitting at 2. I try my damnedest to do the parallel parking, but I simply CANNOT get my car in the right position to pull in. It didn't help that when I practiced I drove in forward and this parallel park job is going backwards. (I really struggle trying to backward park, compared to forward parking as it's hard as hell for me to gauge my distance in that Jeep...)
After attempting several times, she pulls me over, goes over my test and says I fail that I need to practice for the test so I can pass it. I'm like hello lady - I had a full driver's license in Nebraska well over a year, never had to parallel park at all in my life in that time, nor in the time I've driven around with my husband in Michigan. The only place I ever would need to parallel park would be in town, and even then there is plenty of parking in the back of the shops that you really can do without it. The real kicker is if I hadn't straightened myself out doing the backwards parking I would of passed it! Barely, but passed it! It really pissed me off to the point I had an anxiety attack and was blubbering in the car, waiting for Aaron to get back from BK to meet me. (The testing lady was reluctant to call him as she wanted me to go DRIVE over there and get him!!!)
So now I've spent the afternoon drugged up and in bed. I'm feeling better though.

Oh Izumi! *hugs* You poor thing!
*hugs you some more*
Things will look up soon. They have to.
@Kale: Do they start you off with dog or cat anatomy? I found that it seems to be much easier to learn one species and then compare the rest (with the exception of avian, of course, because they're *very* different). In vet school, they all start with dogs.

@Kale: Good idea, though I will mention that cats are a bit more complicated than dogs, anatomy wise. They have a few extra muscles, and you have to take into account the increased flexibility.

Yah I know I feel pretty useless right now. I mean it isn't difficult to drive a car. I can do it just fine. I just can't pass the damn test. I'm still kicking myself for fixing my parking job on the backup portion. If I left myself crooked I would of passed. I was hoping she'd overlook that and let me continue but she's like I got to follow guidelines, blah blah blah. You know I want to be a driving instructor as they rip you off and make an easy $50.
Now I'm going to be practicing more and looking for someone else outside of this town to do my testing as I pissed off people who worked there in both. I'm also going to have to get the windshield fixed before then or find someone willing to overlook it. We don't have another $50 for the test right now, let alone the $250 to replace the fucking windshield. It's so asinine. I told Aaron this state is really backwards.

Yah I sort of have to. Aaron's like well maybe you'll have to carpool or I'll have to rearrange my day at work and it's like no because I can just see him using that against me and giving me grief for having to bend over backwards for me.
I'm just really horribly annoyed. No one follows the rules when driving anyways. People speed on a daily basis, and do even more boneheaded things and somehow they got their license. I just think making me have to retest is so stupid.

Chi: What on earth?
Zumzum: You'll get it, dang it. Those driving instructors seem a bit absurd. I will tell you that the thing that helped me most with parallel parking and backing in was my mom setting up an obstacle course (with paper bags with bricks in them) in an empty parking lot. I had to do the whole thing forward three times, and then backward until I could do it perfectly. And I did it in a mini van. After that I was confident in nearly anything driving wise.

Ah yeah.. that's true. I've also an interest in dogs. The bookstore I work at has books of the same brands on Dogs, Cats & Horses. I plan to look at them all and try to learn things before the course.. that way I'm not a deer caught in the headlights type thing.
Izumi; I'm sorry to hear you had a shitty day.
I don't have my license at all.. haven't driven since I got in an accident totalling my mom's car... her new car is too big... :XP

Oh man! That's scary, Kale.
Just to get you started, here is a site that gives a great review of canine dissection: Carnivore Dissection.
Warning: this link has *actual* pictures of a canine dissection. Do not click it if you are sensitive to that sort of thing. (Sorry, I have to put that, or I'll get in trouble with the people who watch this sort of thing...and probably PETA...bunch of psychos).

Well I personally hate driving and fear it at the same time. I will let Aaron drive unless he can't, and then I'll step up to the plate and do it. I know I can do it, I've just seen so many bad accidents it scares me that I'll get in one. I'm totally calm in the car, it's just behind the wheel that gets me nervous. Even then, I eventually just had to pony up and do it and I still remember the first time driving on my own just up the road to the bank I had a panic attack so bad I was shaking from head to toe and felt really light headed. I had to fill out a deposit slip and I had a hell of a time trying to steady my hand. I sat in the car for a few minutes until I felt calm enough to drive over to the local store and I walked off the rest of it. From then on out I was OK. Well until I had the one close call, I had another panic attack, but I got home and I remember thinking how the hell I did it as I pretty much went in autopilot mode while I sat and thought about it and how incredibly horrible I would of felt if I did hit that kid who jetted out in the middle of a busy road. Yes it would of been his fault, but I would of felt bad for the rest of my life. I have a really loud conscious. :|

Oh, I was exactly the same way, Izumi. Which is why my parents did an at home driving school for me. I *hated* driving and I was terrified I'd kill someone with the car. But that obstacle course showed me that I *can* control the car as well as I can anything else, and that helped me feel a lot better.

Anyways, I gotta go over to one of aaron's friend's houses tonight for dinner. I'm not really feeling very social tonight, but we promised him beforehand and I know for a fact aaron wouldn't go without me.
I've got work the next couple of days. Hoping I can just kinda tune it out and I guess work on it more. Aaron is threatening to make me drive more until I get it down so I can ace it without any points. God only knows - I get the first part down and they screw me in part 2.
