Well the workers didn't like doing that, and they said that legally the fire alarm had to be tested weekly anyways or some crap like that. I think they really didn't want to bother with all the hassle of knocking on all our doors.
It was an interesting experience. My room mate was awesome. Hope she's doing well. I tried emailing her on her address she gave me and I've never got a reply. |
That's a shame. You're better than I at keeping up with people, though. She's probably like me and is terrible at answering emails. :)
I'm going to hop off for a bit, though. I need to do some exercise or I'm going to fall asleep. Plus, my butt is starting to form its own continent, so I really need to exercise anyway. See you guys later! |
LOL. Poor butt! Ok hun, you take care and hopefully I'll hear from you soon! :heart:
I might go rest myself. I'm feeling rather exhausted. Didn't sleep well last night again. :P |
*peers in*
Anyone around? |
Not me...
|
Me, either. I'm floating along, more nauseated than ever, even with V8 juice for supper. WOO!
|
Hey Chi! Sorry to hear you're still nauseated
|
I have good days and then bad days. *eats Jell-O*
I just hope I'm not all blergh at tomorrow's meeting. Even if I am, I'm going anyway. D: |
Hey there Chi! Hows about 2.7k on your Wood Sprite?
|
Nah, I already have it lower than price guide. Thanks though. ^_^
|
Ah, no haggling down? XP I will take it at 3k then? ^^;
|
Jello actually sounds really awesome right now, heh.
Holy cow. A girl from my vet school class who I was pretty certain despised me just messaged me on facebook to see how I was doing. She's being super sweet, even! |
Hopefully I didn't like shoot myself in the foot, but I called and spoke to Pam briefly. Her dad is thinking of stepping back and letting things take its course and I'm afraid he's thinking the kids have more power than they really do. Well while I was talking to them their mother interfered and told her to hang up on me.
I'm having a talk with him now over this. *fingers crossed for a good outcome* |
@Sammi
Not when I have an item up way lower than price guide, no. :XD I'll send a trade. Thanks! @Steel Aww, that's nice. ^^ What made you think she despised you? Was it just a vibe you got? @Izumi Wait. What? Taking a step back??? |
Yeah, she just...she brushed me off a lot, and she'd get really offended at things I said and...just acted snooty, you know?
|
People like that can be so difficult to read...
Must be quite a surprise then to see she's friendly. :XD |
It really was. Especially since she's the first person from vet school to actually message me. At all. Including the people I considered somewhat friends. I'm shocked. In a pleasant sort of way.
|
Yah. I'm trying to get him to call her right now, and he won't. He really needs to hear his daughter tell him she loves him right now. I think he's thinking way too deep about her feelings and failing to realize that their mother overshadows EVERYTHING they do and think, and that it really is the mother trying her hardest to put a wedge between them.
I really want to call them back and give him the phone. I have a feeling that now their mother will be watching the phone like a hawk. I swear she is a spiteful one. |
@Steel
That's good. Maybe when you get back in, you guys will bump into one another again. :) @Izumi I'm so confused though. When he means "stepping back", does he mean he won't ask them to come over, but wait for them to say they want to see you guys?? What exactly have the kids been saying? (Despite the mother overshadowing everything.) |
Yah exactly. Because the kids don't make any attempt to call him, and when he asked his daughter why the other night she says she can't find the time to call him. (Which we all know is a lame excuse...and probably the first thing that she was able to come up with without incriminating either parent.) Poor girl. I feel bad for her as she's wedged between all this bullshit.
|
That's heartbreaking, Izumi. It truly is.
I hope he can get the strength to stand up and fight. Otherwise he's going to miss them growing up. :( |
Plus, she's a kid. Kids don't always think to call their parents and talk to them. Even if her mother isn't a total twit (which we all know she is), she may not call her dad unless he asks. That doesn't mean they don't love him. T
|
Well it worked - Pam called back, and now he's confronting their mother about the situation. Apparently she's been telling the kids he's making plans instead of what's really going on - him WORKING. She's convoluted the truth, again.
|
Oh lord. What a terrible mother. Geeze. Kids need to know their parents (BOTH parents) love them. And if one parent is telling them that the other doesn't give a flying flip about them, that is detrimental to the child. You'd think she'd at least care about what she's doing to her own children.
|
*facepalm* That ex-wife sounds like a real winner. Working is far different than "making other plans". And holy hell, it's not like you wouldn't take care of them some weekend during the days while he works!! D:<
