I can be persuaded.... ;)

Ghia 03-23-2010 12:56 AM

Psh. Repro grinding >>>>>>> Poke-grinding.
Truth.

Edgar 03-23-2010 12:58 AM

I will need to EV train this one. I typically leave legendaries untouched, but this is Lugia. My favorite.

Ghia 03-23-2010 12:59 AM

That's it. You two are both crazy. Haha.

Saisei 03-23-2010 01:08 AM

Okay, I'm back now. I got caught up in Good Eats and Dancing with the Stars. :)

Izumi 03-23-2010 11:55 AM

You missed it Kin. :'(

Rest assured, There was a little of both grinding last night though, steel...:XD

Eww dancing with the stars? That doesn't happen to be the one with Kate Goseling in it is it? Someone needs to tell her to go back to taking care of her kids and quit whoring the fame she had so many kids. Whoopdido, you know?

Chi 03-23-2010 02:16 PM

It's odd you bring her up. Last night I asked Cole if he thought she really was as rotten as the media portrays her, or if it's because sometimes relationships are what's nasty, not the people involved. :XD

I always get curious over that stuff. We only really see the media's side.

~Moonshine~ 03-23-2010 04:57 PM

Hiya. I have a March CI set I am willing to part with for 2K :)

Chi 03-23-2010 08:12 PM

Hello! If you still have it, can you send a trade to "Chi's Mule"? Thank you!

Saisei 03-23-2010 08:37 PM

Looks like I need to get in on this CI thing, too...

Chi 03-23-2010 09:50 PM

Still buying/selling!

Ghia 03-24-2010 12:35 AM

*glomps* Hey guys!
Have I ever mentioned how much I hate my coworkers? Because I do! Haha. How is everyone?

Chi 03-24-2010 12:55 AM

Hi Steel! We're doing great. Good news all around.

What are your coworkers doing? Shall I go beat on them? D:

Izumi 03-24-2010 01:04 AM

Chi - it's not so much how the media portrays her that annoys me as her ex-husband gets bad rep too, but the reason why she's a household name. She's already been trumped by Octomom, who is a bigger freak. More people tampering with nature when they really ought not to. (Well from what I've seen from 'Jon and Kate Plus 8' she seems a bit emotionally unstable at times...)

And the whole thing about the sanctity of life thing...what about the quality? I can't imagine it's easy trying to care for so many mouths. Aaron and I had a few debates over the moral issues over abortion and when it would ever be considered 'ok'. I think in certain issues, like this one either adoption or abortion to be totally an option. It's not healthy for a woman to carry so many kids...we're not biologically built to. Not to mention the whole Octomom thing pisses me off as she's a single mother who had a whole soccer team of kids to begin with and couldn't be self supporting. I haven't done research, but I really hope fertility clinics take things like that into consideration. I'm very liberal on most things, but I think sometimes people take this whole 'right to life' thing a bit far...

Chi 03-24-2010 01:10 AM

I'm all for living, provided the lives can be adequately cared for. I don't mind abortion in the slightest, but I don't like it used as a means of birth control. I also can't stomach the thought of mid-to-late term abortions, either (unless medically necessary).

It's all nice and well for people to say, "Abortion is bad!" but I would also argue that while removing life isn't a good thought to stomach, neither is putting a child into an unstable home, or into the foster care system where they may not even GET care until several years in. Then again, that's my own personal background speaking. I do believe a lot of damages begin from infancy on.

If I could wave a wand, I'd have adoption be always set up where the mother gives birth and gives the baby directly to the arms of the expecting parent(s). Bang, done. Child is cared for in a loving home from the get-go.

Not all children can be "fixed" just by them having a new home when they're 5 years old, which is why in general I feel a stomachache when I think about how many children are already in the system waiting to find loving homes. I know others would disagree though, and that's cool too.

Izumi 03-24-2010 01:16 AM

Amen Chi! You have very similar views. I think more harm can be done to a child forced upon a couple due to religious or moral obligation. They'll be made to feel like excess baggage and no doubt have psychological issues. I wish people would think of it on all sides. It's not quantity but quality.

I don't fancy late term abortions either, but if there were complications threatening the mother's life I wouldn't think twice. I don't think giving birth should entail the sacrificing of another life.

And don't get me wrong. I am dead set against using abortion as a form of birth control. It's a last option, after birth control failed or in the case of a rape where the choice was not given. I'm definitely not for the government paying for abortion either unless exceptional circumstances. Saying that, I guess I could justify it if it was in the best interest of all people involved.

Chi 03-24-2010 01:18 AM

Yeah. I think I'm best described as, "My opinion depends on context!" where it's all concerned. :XD Rarely ever is something black and white.

I'm stoked. I was accepted into graduate school, and Cole has been accepted into the undergraduate program. :boogie: Life is going to be drastically different in another 5 months. I can't wait.

Izumi 03-24-2010 01:18 AM

And I'm saying this because if a woman is forced to carry a child to term, decides to keep it...not only would she hypothetically eligible for government support from say agencies like WIC, but also court cases for Family Court if she is wanting to take the Father to court for child support. It is a bigger financial drain on the system....but I think the reason it is so hotly debated is because of religious views...

----------

Oh wow congrats you two!! I'm so stoked! Not only is baby Chimotsu on its way, but you two getting into school is awesome news!!

I'm still trying to sort out financial aid for fall semester. Nothing yet. :(

----------

Oh yes and I am DEFINITELY not a black and white person. I am VERY gray.

It is ALL about context.

Chi 03-24-2010 01:49 AM

Once I get the official documents in the mail, I need to call my university and see how to go about sorting financial aid. To the best of my knowledge, classes begin in early June and will go straight through. The next break I would have would be Christmas. :XD

Sorry about disappearing. The phone rang!

Izumi 03-24-2010 02:05 AM

Not a problem! I'm dorking around with other things tonight. Aaron is out of the house so I have it to myself. I should be finishing up psych but I've been surfing and working on renaming songs...whoops! I did half of it already and I'll have tomorrow morning to finish up the other half...or perhaps I'll start it now. Knowing Aaron though he'll be on his way soon.

Chi 03-24-2010 02:08 AM

I've been trying to get Senior Seminar stuff sorted out. My partner and I will hopefully get everything completed in the next 2-3 weeks. We're tired of it hanging.

Silverwingedshadows 03-24-2010 02:09 AM

Hi Chi, how many more sets do you need?

Chi 03-24-2010 02:12 AM

Silver, I could take a pile. Were you interested in the Bee Slippers, or just gold?

Silverwingedshadows 03-24-2010 02:12 AM

Gold, sorry. I have a set of bee slippers.

Chi 03-24-2010 02:14 AM

How many sets and bonus horn items do you have/what are their prices? (I ask since my husband Kinmotsu is looking for some too. I'd tell him to get his butt online. :XD)
