Verbalized, I like "Aerith" more than "Aeris", but I do think it's a pretty name.
I think Cole would be pretty butthurt if I said I was going to name our daughter what I wanted and tough nookie for him. :XD Therefore we'll keep going 'till we agree on one.

Well you see I don't think he would ever come to agreement with me as he thinks she would be mocked if her friends found out where her name came from.
I love Aeris. And Aeris was such a pure soul. Or I know. I'd name her Winry. From Fullmetal Alchemist. :XD To be honest, I think all my inspirations would be related in Anime or Videogames. At least I wouldn't name my child Squirtle...:XD

Aeris has to be used elsewhere, though. :XD She'd not have to know she came from FFVII.

Oh god, Aaron is geeked is he found out how to get event pokemon after the event. :XP (I'm surprised he wouldn't want to give his kids Pokemon inspired names...LOL)

I would have a hard time naming my kids anything game or movie oriented. I mean, they are kind of stuck with it. If you name them something like that, if kids ever find out about it at school, they are never going to hear the end of it. Kids are going to pick on kids, but I wouldn't want to contribute to it. That being said, my son is named after a movie (I think). My ex picked it out for us. And its a good name anyway... Tristan.

Ed, our hypothetical girl is named Aeris, end of question. She will learn to stand up to bullies and that their just confused and need to bring someone down to their level.
Uniqueness should be cherished. *fist pump*

Okay, consider my gears officially ground.
When you hypothetically have a baby that is made completely of your own genes with no contribution from a father or penis bearing husband type, then you can state, bar none, what the child will be named without input from the other person who, in fact, gave half of the genetic material.

Tristan is at least used enough so people wouldn't automatically wonder where it comes from. :3

It was good, but it's definitely not agreeing with me now. :gonk:

I'm still hellbent on naming it Aeris. Whether it's mainstream or not, I don't give a damn. Either that or I'm going to give it a Japanese name. A classy one, that won't make her sound like white trash, OK?
I really don't want to name my hypothetical children with names that are cut from the same cloth as a billion other people. I want it to be unique but pretty.

I love a lot of names (both genders), but I'm still not going to risk excluding my partner unless he is okay with it. >>; I'd be heartbroken (among a few other things) if I got no say if the roles were reversed.

We named the cat Mog... We can get you a female pomeranian and call it Aeris.
I personally want a dog and name it Help! that would be hilarious to call for your dog. All of your neighbors would come out wondering who was yelling "HELP"!

Well he can have the middle name. :XP
Sorry, I'm usually really diplomatic in everything else but I told myself well before I met Ed that my hypothetical girl was to be named Aeris. He'd have to find an equally cool nerdy videogame or anime reference before I'd change my mind.
But as it stands we're not having any children, so I'm just having really a silly argument. :XD

Ed is chuckling at the thought. Me, I think it'd be cute at first but I don't think I'd really find it funny after say a day of calling it.
I could of sworn that the garage sale in our neighboring, not as nice, trailer park there was a guy in the background yelling for his dog "help". It didn't sound like a plea, more like him calling for his dog. There wasn't any sound of urgency in his voice...

Why am I still awake!!! GAH!!!
Random note: At the vet's office, we had this tiny teacup poodle whose name was Spike. His owner was a total biker dude. It was the most hilarious thing you'd ever seen.
My favorites, though:
German Shepherd named Hitler, Shih tzu named Mao, and an Italian Greyhound named Mussolini. Too bad they never all boarded at the same time. I totally would have let them in the yards together.

Chubby Chubbs! N'aww!
On the terms of names, I couldn't name any of my not-yet-in-existence children Francesca or Imogen. Both are people I have met and I hate with a passion. >.>

Steel, I hope you've been able to rest up!
Pip, most of the troubles I've encountered are that we have family members with the same name(s). Dx
