Yup. Got nothing done. Well, I lie. I emailed my prof what I have ready for the portfolio, to see what she says, so I guess it's not *nothing*. But certainly not as much as I'd have liked. And I got chocolate ice cream on my shirt to boot. /fail xD I imagine I'll get more done tonight. I wan to get the layout of my books completed tonight. I thankfully don't have *too* much left on those. Then it's a matter of figuring out what else is going into my portfolio. I have 7-8 pieces that Cynthia's looking at now, and I have one that's a physical piece that I made for Type I. So I have 8-9 works total at the moment. I'm glad I started working on the portfolio stuff before coming home...

Finally fought off the worst part of the bug, but I spent the entirety of the day feeling like a boiling kettle of water in my tummy and lots and lots of gas. It's horrible, and aaron is telling me he hopes I'm not this bad when we're having family dinner. I can't help it. :/

I have a little bit of spare time to chat now as all my homework due tonight is done. (Well the bits I bother doing...) It's sad as I have a 90% avg on tests and quizzes without trying, but homework I have a 75% and group work a lowly 16% percent. I could of so easily aced this...right now I just want at least a C...just to show I finished up one class.

When you gotta get it out, you gotta get it out. Do you have any ginger tea or ginger anything? It helps.

There will be time to complete your education. Just don't give up on it. See what you can juggle with work. It'll be worth it in the long run.

I'm still a bit nervous as to what next semester is going to hold. Cole will be out more than in and we BOTH have classes we can't slough off on. :s

I'm just worried about graduating. xD And what comes after. I'm sure everything will be fine in the end, but I am, admittedly, nervous. I'm kind of getting the same feeling I got at the end of my AAS program, that I kind of sailed through school. It's not a problem; it actually makes it easier for me to go to class, to know I'll be done sooner rather than later. But I always thought that, when all was said and done, finishing the degree would make me feel ready to enter the working world. I think I've come to the conclusion that nothing prepares you fully for that first plunge into the real world.

I managed to get one of the many 2nd places in the writing competition (which was actually like 5th place the way she awarded things. XD), which really isn't bad considering how little time I spent on my entry. Unfortunately no Bertie's given out. I was really hoping there would be a few more given away. They're gonna be so very hard to find now.

Off to bed now. I can't believe I'm up so late considering that I have to get up for work in the morning tomorrow. I really needed to get my vlog done tonight, though, considering that it's about Plaid Friday (aka, the rebranding of Black Friday).

You've heard me rail on over and over about how the degree is just a piece of paper. I don't know what truly prepares an individual, but college is mostly just the classes unless one applies their self beyond the minimum requirements. I'm a proponent of interning, now that I've done it. I still disliked a lot of what happened last fall, but the experience was critical. I'm still not having all the confidence I need in myself, but I've gotten a lot more. :3

As someone who has done five internships, I really believe in the power of interning!... to a degree.

I think I learned an amazing amount from all of my internships, I had a great time (or sometimes a terrible time, but I got some great stories), and over all they were just a really good experience. But they also completely failed at getting me a job. So, take what you will from that.

I do think that part of that is just because of how terrible the job market was at the time I graduated, though. I think things are getting better now.

Oh, I don't mean that internships are guaranteed ways to get work after college. It just helps pad the resume into something more professional. It also depends on the field too, I suppose. (And market, like you said.) Some fields would rather hire someone who has some professional experience tacked onto their resume via interning than someone who just has the degree.

Then again sometimes college letters of recommendation are all someone needs, too. It just depends. :XD

Oh man. It has been a long day. Apparently, I'm having a *different* friend over tomorrow, because she said her mom wasn't doing anything so I invited her. Heh.

I can't imagine not doing something, even if just making a nice meal. o_o

I have my pecan and pumpkin pies all done and ready, sweet potatoes mashed and in a container, French onion dip, and cornbread stuffing ready to go in the oven closer to lunchtime. Once Cole gets out of the shower I'll get ready. Terra isn't really into it so far. She stared at the stuffing like she wanted to roll around in its glory, watched some bits of Macy's Parade and then just fell asleep. :XD I told her next year she gets all the good foods..

Hopefully we leave in about an hour/hour and a half.
