All good things come to those who wait, which includes your hairpin hunt. :)

Liztress 01-13-2012 12:05 AM

That is true. Of course, my hairpin hunt always seems to get postponed. But for good reasons, so I don't mind. Spoiling friends is more fun than spoiling myself.

Chi 01-13-2012 12:06 AM

I dig your avatar, on a side note. I love black and red together, and the silver makes it all the more awesome.

Liztress 01-13-2012 12:07 AM

Thanks. :) I'm proud of how it turned out.

Ayx 01-13-2012 12:08 AM

&& wtf 100k for jelly? some ppl yo lol

Chi 01-13-2012 12:09 AM

It's sooo cold here right now. We're in the middle of a blizzard with high winds. It seems like the heater isn't working. It is, but it just feels like it isn't. The baby and I are bundled in sweatpants.

----------

Ayx, I figured it would go that high.

Captain Howdy 01-13-2012 12:11 AM

*backs up in conversation*

I wished a happy belated b-day to Kin. http://i51.tinypic.com/2w3yiqv.gif

Christmas preparation was stressful, as always. But as much as I bitch, I would hate not to have it. Christmas itself was pretty good. Can't complain.

Did Terra get lots of goodies? :)

Liztress 01-13-2012 12:11 AM

Thanks, Ayx. :) I'll have to see if I can come up with a great look first.

I know. ;_; It's crazy.

----------

Hey, Captain Howdy. :)

Chi 01-13-2012 12:12 AM

Howdy, Terra got so spoiled rotten I'm surprised she didn't end up as compost. ;)

I also had a ton of prepping this year. Thanksgiving and Christmas were on us this year in terms of dinners. It was nice though. I rocked it!!

Ayx 01-13-2012 12:13 AM

i feel like bidding just to piss that person off. lol. it could be someone from staff or someone with a rich mule doe. i dunno.

Liztress 01-13-2012 12:16 AM

Christmas is always more fun when you have kids. And you can spoil them. xD

Chi 01-13-2012 12:17 AM

@Ayx, but what if you get stuck with it? XD

@Liz, most definitely. It was really fun!

Liztress 01-13-2012 12:20 AM

Was she more interested in the boxes though? Seems like all kids wind up playing with the boxes more than the toys. My kids were like that.

Chi 01-13-2012 12:27 AM

Nope, she was all for the toys. It was awesome. If she got a book, everything had to stop until it was read.

Captain Howdy 01-13-2012 12:42 AM

@Liztress ~ Greetings. ;D

@Chi ~ Awww. :3 It's fun to give small children toys, before they get all big and ungrateful.

Liztress 01-13-2012 01:01 AM

Aw, that's so cute.

Sadly, the age at they get ungrateful seems to become earlier and earlier. Unless you raise the kids right. *has met a few kids that demanded more and more*

Chi 01-13-2012 01:07 AM

We're not perfect parents, but I really hope we can do right by her. I grew up with little, and was spoiled on birthdays and Christmases. It left me looking forward to those moments all year 'round, and I never asked for anything. Things (school-related) I "had" to ask for left me feeling guilty.

I just hope that in the end she understands the value of a dollar and is appreciative. It's hard when kids on the whole are brats. :(

Liztress 01-13-2012 01:15 AM

I'm sure you guys will do great. And I have yet to meet perfect parents. I grew up differently. I was spoiled year round. I consider myself lucky that I didn't turn into a brat. Well, I was a bit of one until I got older and saw that you can't take things for granted.

True, kids in general these days just don't seem to think that it's best to work hard for things. Instead they hold their hands out and bitch when they don't get what they want and when they want it.

hummy 01-13-2012 01:29 AM

any luck with the Jelly head?

Chi 01-13-2012 01:41 AM

@hummy
Nope. It went way too high. :P

@Liz
I wasn't financially spoiled, but I was enabled. My mother is the type of person who would rather to do everything for herself and others to make sure it's done right. I'm trying to let my daughter do her own thing without seeming to passive, which is what I worry I'll be viewed as in the end. It's hard to find a balance, as no one can predict the future. I think everyone is screwed up in their own way. We all have hangups. I guess it's just about having hangups that everyone can deal with. ;)

Liztress 01-13-2012 01:50 AM

Yeah, it's tough to find the balance. And the individual kid can make it tough too. My oldest, for example, prefers to do things himself while my youngest wants me to help him do things like tie his shoes and such. And yep. I don't think anyone can claim they don't have some form of hangup. Wouldn't be human if we didn't have at least one.

hummy 01-13-2012 01:54 AM

it's a good time to end an auction.
most people are around.
i'm surprised it isn't still going on, to be honest.
i wonder who won it.
*looks to see if it's up in the market place already*

ya know, Chi, i think the fact you are worried about it means you are doing a good job.
i can't see you being a bad parent.
i'm just saying.....

Liztress 01-13-2012 02:06 AM

I agree with hummy. The ones who worry about how well they are doing are the ones who show that they are good parents.

Sandy 01-13-2012 03:12 AM

Do you still buy Jelly Head?

hummy 01-13-2012 03:16 AM

congratulations on the winning bid, KittyLuhv!
