Sorry to hear that your grandchild is sick.
I hope he gets to feeling better soon.

Thank you, Tigerangel. He does seem to be feeling better this morning, though he still feels feverish to me. I'm kind of leery about feeding him anything for breakfast as I'm afraid it will just come up again, though, but I don't want him to starve either.

Maybe give him a piece of dry toast or cereal without milk. Something bland would probably be easiest on his stomach.

Oh definitely, for sure. I would not even consider milk with him being sick and all.

-nods-
And things like orange juice would be too acidic on his little tummy too.

Yup yup...my first choice would be pedialyte, but we don't have any. I'll be sticking to water for his little tum tum.

That's a good idea. You sure don't want him to get
dehydrated. How are you doing though? Are you well?

I'm just tired from not getting enough sleep. I'm going to lay down and take a nap when he naps today, I think. I had my big appt with the specialist yesterday. Was my first appt with him, so didn't really accomplish a lot, but he asked me all kinds of questions and sent me for a blood test.

He will determine if I'm a candidate for the radioactive treatment to kill my thyroid once he gets my records from my current and previous doctor and the results of my blood test. He said that since I have atrial fibrilation, and have had my thyroid disease for as many years as I have, I am most likely a good candidate for the treatment.

I hope you can get the treatment that you need.
And napping, while your grandson is napping sounds like a great idea.
Hopefully he will take a lengthy enough nap so that you can get a good one, yourself.

I hope so too. Since he's sick, that is a possibility, but usually these kids are such light sleepers that they never sleep long.

My granddaughter doesn't even sleep through the night because she is such a light sleeper that the slightest of noises wakes her up. She had a hearing test at school and one of her ears failed the test, and my daughter is supposed to schedule her an appt to get her ears checked, but she hasn't done that yet, despite my numerous reminders to her to call and schedule an appt for her. She really needs to do that, because the longer she waits, the less likely they can do anything for my granddaughter.

I've said since she was just a baby that something is wrong because loud noises, like the smoke alarm in the house, set her off to crying...she used to literally freak out from loud noises.

We went to an art museum her school held, to display the art the kids had made in class, and they had this slide show thing set up, and it showed some short video of some guy cutting wood and sanding it down and shaping it, and the sander made this really annoying noise, something similar to a person scraping their nails along a chalkboard, and my granddaughter became very upset because of the noise.

I would definitely push your daughter even harder to make time to take her to the ear doctor.
It will make classes a lot more difficult for her as she gets older, otherwise.

I agree completely. My baby brother has a slight hearing problem in one of his ears too, and it did affect how he performed in class, but he also had a slight mental disability as well, so it's hard to say if his class performance was due to the hearing problem or his mental disability, or a combination of both.

As a parent and grandparent, I'm sure you want to give the kids every advantage to succeed that you can. I'm sure your daughter feels the same, you just have to keep on her about her girls ear problem.

I never did get my nap today. You know, I pestered my daughter again today about calling to schedule an appt for my granddaughter, and what did she do, she left to go get her hair colored, and never bothered to call to schedule the appt. She makes me sooooo angry sometimes.

Sure thing, VVicked...it's yours. Hmm no other offers, huh? Oh well, I'm too sick today to go through a bunch of offers anyways, so maybe that's a good thing. I think I got my grandson's flu. :(

I'll send the trade over from Fizie in just a bit, VVicked.

Guess I'll extend this auction for a few days.

Ahh, sorry about that Roachi. I believe I had gone off to bed for the night when you posted that, hehe. I'm feeling a bit better, but still getting the chills and feeling feverish, and have had a headache for a few days now. At least I can eat and keep food down now.

My granddaughter came home from school today with the diarrhea so it looks like it's her turn to suffer through this bout of the flu. My grandson feels a lot better, but I can tell he still isn't 100% better as he keeps laying around and sleeps almost all day and all night too. I can hardly wait for summer to come...this winter has just been awful, lol.
