I'm sorry, Alexi. I do not sell to resellers. I could just as easily ask for the 3k you ask others for in your shop, as that is the price you have listed there. Only I prefer to stick to price guide values, unless it's a 'convince me' to sell item because it's the only one I have, which I don't do very often.

EDIT Actually, I'm just going to try to remain more calm. Good luck selling. But please realize that the items up in my shop may actually be my only copy left of the item. Thus, the prices may reflect how much I value them personally. I sold my last Horns for 2.5K which is price guide price, no higher, despite the fact that they were my last ones. I just want them back. So please refrain from judging me until you get to know me.

I want to explain the purpose and theme of my shop. All my items are up for grabs there, this goes for a lot of my "personal set" as well. My purpose in the exchange is to continually get items to restock my shop so that it's a one-stop location for buyers that don't want to hunt a bajillion threads to find what they want. Do I get a profit for this service? Yes. But I don't really ask for a huge profit most of the time, unless it is out of my personal collection, in which case, yes - it would take a lot more for me to sell since I am not 100 percent sure I could get the item back for less than I sold it for.

Case in point: Yumeh Ears and Tail. I sold them to someone for 4.5K because they really wanted it. Yet, I can't find another for the life of me so I even have to buy it for higher than I sold it for.

I do specifically note when I have an extra, and I have disclaimers all over the thread saying that I am willing to 1) haggle, 2) search for an extra copy of said item to offer up for sale at a better price if people are okay with waiting, and 3) that I am asking for higher for my personal items.

I was actually going to try to haggle with you on the price of the item, and was actually willing to autopurchase it for your 2.2K. But if you won't sell to me just because I seem like a "reseller" to you, I guess there's nothing that can be done, and we both lose. I'm not really stoked about buying it now even though it would be for less than I sold it for, because sometimes money isn't everything.

Silver Magi, the 1100g is not a firm price, it's just an Auto Buy. If you offer less, I post your offer and hold that for a few days to see if someone else will offer more. If no one offers more within a few days, and I feel your offer is reasonable, then I accept.

If you offer the Auto Buy price, then it automatically guarantees the sale to you. It is completely up to you to decide which method you wish to go with. The only reason I do it like this is because there are times the price guide doesn't get updated right away and some items go up in value in the meantime, so I like to allow a space of time for others to get in their offers. If I know the price guide has been updated recently, my AB's will generally be high price guide value.

Alexi, I'm sorry, but it just really irks me when people come into my shop offering less than price guide, with expectations to turn around and sell the item for more than price guide. Until recently, I was not in the position to contribute real cash to the site, and I worked very hard to obtain the majority of my items, and I cannot tell you how often my offers within price guide range were rejected by resellers, but when it came time for me to sell extras I'd gotten, they would turn around and offer less than price guide and would refuse to spend more. You cannot blame me for feeling the way I do.

I'm sorry if you've taken offense to my comments, but I tend to say what's on my mind, and well, you happened to catch me when I'm not in the best of moods, as I've been suffering from a toothache for the past two weeks now. I would not have expected you would purchase the item from me anyways.

As I noted, I sold my last horns for 2.5K - 2.2 would have been fine with me. So yes, I would have bought it. And I guess you caught me at a bad time too. I just got done with a ton of school work and I also was in an argument/drama with friends in another thread with regards to items and selling things.

No, I can't blame you for that. Yet, it is a phenomenon that happens to everyone. Is it insulting when someone offers way too low and you are obviously an exchanger? Sure, I get that. However, I was offering -your- listed price. I didn't even check the price guide. And my intention was to haggle.

So: We both tend to say what's on our minds. We both are strongly opinionated and proud exchangers. Lets just leave it at that. I edited my first post to reflect my intention of leaving without a chip on my shoulder. So I appreciate the chat, and I will say however that you are probably a little more wrong about me than you think. Our sales methods (and the things that irk us) seem similar.

Alexi, since you just pointed out my 'listed' price, I had to go check my front page to see what I had listed there, and you are right, I did have that listed as low price guide value, which was what the price guide had listed at the time I posted that. I feel like a total heel right now.

I did not look at my first page, but rather, looked at the price guide and did not realize that it's been updated since I last posted my items. I am very sorry for my comments to you, as they were completely undeserved. I know that I can't make it up to you, but as an act of attrition, I would like to donate the horns to you, if you will accept. I acted rashly and I am truly sorry.

Really don't worry about it, it was just a misunderstanding - we're both in bad moods after all. I'm just glad that it was resolved in some way. :)

As for the donation - Thank you for offering to do that, but it's not necessary. I wouldn't feel right to just take them free, as I've always been a proponent of earning what I own. Would you at least take 2K, if not the 2.2 you were selling at?

Or we could just go with the 1.5k you offered in the first place. I would feel a bit better about that at least. I just really feel bad because I snapped at you the way I did. I really need to be more careful about things like that, and hopefully this has taught me a valuable lesson about jumping to conclusions.

Never too late to learn new lessons I suppose, and I shouldn't lash back so quickly either. (becomes defensive - a LOT) A quick point-out that it was your price on the front would have been sufficient. But sure, that works then - I appreciate the discount you're applying to it, and hopefully we get to know each other on better terms now that we've gotten the whole "bad first impression" thing out of the way. :)

Well, I have been a member of Mene since May 2007, but have gone on a few forced hiatus, especially for the latter part of 2007, but I always come back, hehe. I know the site pretty well, and have a few good friends here. I spend most of what little online time I have in the marketplace however, and don't do a lot of venturing elsewhere around the site, though I've been trying to do more venturing other places lately, when I can squeeze in a bit of extra time.
