Seriously? Boston is like one of the least claustrophobic big cities I've been in. XD New York is horrible with all of it's huge gray buildings everywhere, and when I went to San Francisco it reminded me a lot of New York. Boston only has a few small areas with the huge buildings. Mostly, the sizes of buildings vary and it's very open feeling.

Never been to Sacramento, so I can't make comparisons, but I've always had the feeling that Boston was like a small town version of a big city.

Oh, it's certainly not that big. It didn't have much room to expand because other cities were already there, so it expanded into the water instead. XD Ever hear of the big dig? Bostonians cut down the hills of Boston and carted the dirt out to the ocean, pushing the shore further and further away. The current coastline is like a mile away from where it was originally.
Why would you want your big city to be bigger though? We have all the amenities of the big bigs, with the clubs, colleges, theatre, great local stores, etc, but I can easily get everywhere without a car. |
