Ah, even if its not much money, its still something and it would be great if you could get sponsored by the government to take up architecture. I don't know if they do that where you are but I think the government here sponsors a lot of things ^^"

I love to design house interiors or basically any kind of interior but its kind of sad because the courses offered here for that aren't very impressive and my parents weren't exactly supportive. Plus, we didn't have much money for me to go overseas so I ended up taking business instead. Very different from everything I had initially planned to be.

The truck wouldn't be the most expensive part of the job would it? O.o I mean, the radars and tracking systems are all separate right? And is it possible to chase storms alone by the way?

Yeah, actually, the truck would probably be the most expensive. At least $28,000 USD. I've read about storm chasers buying used radar equipment from news stations, which is what I was thinking about doing.

You can storm chase alone, sure - it'd be harder, but it's possible. Personally, I think it's better if you have people with you though, to share the thrill with. I'm sure I could abduct a few friends of mine along for a piss-yourself thrill of a ride. ^_^

Oooh, that's kind of bad seeing as you guys pay your taxes and all. But its also good as some of the people in my country are a little spoilt because of all the sponsorship they receive.

28,000 USD would actually be pretty affordable seeing as it could be used for other purposes instead of just storm chasing. Maybe you could use it as your main form of transportation then? ^^" I don't think trucks here are that cheap even after the conversion because imported vehicles are taxed a lot here >.<" and I dont think we have a truck maker here in Malaysia

Having people will definitely be more fun! I can already imagine having my friends and chasing a storm and running around. Really something like 'twister'. the rush would be exciting and we'd definitely have stories to tell others after such experiences!

We may pay our taxes, but we're over taxed and the government squanders our money away and doesn't really do much to help anyone but themselves.

Also - trucks don't get as good gas mileage as cars do. To make a heavy truck a main source of transportation will get really expensive when gas prices go back up. Not only that, but the storm chasing gear would be installed in it - permanent, or very close to it. If someone sees expensive things in a vehicle, they'll break in and steal it, and often heavily damage the interior which would cost even more money.

So that's a truck to get repaired and really expensive equipment to replace.

For my own personal vehicle I'd like to either have a minivan like the one that we already own, or have a blue '04 Dodge Neon with a spoiler and a custom sound system.
