I do not have medical insurance. That's why I waited about three days before going into the doctor. I figured I could treat it at home. But when I woke up this morning (with what little sleep I did get), I started screaming -- the pain was terrible. And since the doctors office is closed on weekends, the only choice I had was to go to the ER. So I had my stepmother take me there. And let me tell you, -- when they send me the bill, I'm not paying anything! They was so stupid and didn't know anything. They made me get into one of those robe things, when I didn't even need to. And when they said "I'll be RIGHT back, just need to go get your prescription." I got so pissed after about thirty minutes of waiting. So I took the robe off and changed back into my clothes. Then I walked to the desk and all three doctors was sitting arouse laughing and talking with each other. The first one jumped up and looked at me with big eyes before rushing to fill out my prescription. ...let's just say, I've never raised my voice like that to anyone before. I stormed out just after he gave me the paper. I was PISSED.

OMG, Jennifer, that is just awful! I don't blame you for being pissed, nor would I blame you for not paying the bill, when they treated you so unprofessionally like that. You should write a letter to the hospital board of directors letting them know what happened. They should not be permitted to get away with that.

ER = Emergency Room

Fiz. I was just telling my father that I might do that. I am so mad at how they went about things. And ya know what? All they did was look in my ear. They didn't ask me if I was hurting or anything. So I just went right out and told him. Then he said, "Well, we would only really worry about it if the infection reached the bone behind my ear." and I told him that bone behind my ear was already hurting me. It feels bruised whenever I barely touch my skin. And I can't hear at all in my right ear.

...and usually before they do anything, they take your blood pressure and heart rate. They didn't even do it.

Hmm, yeah the ER here takes your blood pressure and pulse and heart rate during the check in process. They ask you questions about your symptoms, and then they determine if you are a true emergency or not. Everything is very organized and professional.

Is there another hospital in your area that you can go to the next time you need to go for something? I know I would be thinking twice about going back to that hospital for anything.

I believe that by law, they're required to do it before they do anything else. But they didn't. And the guy that first came in, didn't seem to know what he was doing. He was the one that told me to put on that robe thing that I didn't even need to put on. He must be a new doctor or something. In fact, all three doctors on call, I hadn't seen before. I only trust two doctors there, and they wasn't on call at the time. I cannot go to another hospital. This hospital is already thirty-five minutes away as it is. The other closest one is about an hour and a half away. that's how it is when you live in the middle of nowhere.

I just hope something is done when I write to the hospital about their terrible service. d:

Anyway, I must go now. I'll talk to you all tomorrow possibly!

report it to media as well D: tell that you were being handled unprofessionally so the hospital will take your letter seriously

I'm not sure about reporting it to the media. I'm upset, but doing that isn't something I would do. I'm not THAT mean. ;O;

I'm glad you're getting better.
I am good. My boyfriend and I both had the weekend off from work. That doesn't happen very often at all.

OTOSIS IS EARN INFECTION.. there is 4-ish types, one on the outside (like hurting ear) one in the middle (blockage of eardrum) and internal (the ear organ stuff)

._____. I can't hear, my ear hurts on the inside. If I even barely touch the inside of the outside, it hurts. And you know how bruises hurt when you touch them? That's how behind my ear feels. It feels like it was bruised. But yet, without touching it, my skin feels completely numb on my right side. Also, I felt about both sides of my jaw. On my right side (where the infection is), there seems to be a lump. D:'

Yep. Nearly one week ago, it just came out of nowhere. No cold/flu before it or with it. So I was really surprised.

e__e is there like.. stuff coming from your ear? if so then it could be a really severe otitis media

Once in awhile. I could be sitting down and then I'll feel the inside of my ear getting slightly moist -- I'll take a cotton swab and move it gently just around the inside of my ear (not too far in at all) and I'll gather a lot of brown looking puss. I think that's normal with ear infections though? It's just the infection...

ohh I've never had an infection in my ear o: but i still think you should go to a doctor ASAP!! this isn't the kind of thing to just wait it out
