My vacations aren't paid...they're just...time off work. XD

We have a chest freezer that just sits in our shed...we have yet to route power out there to stock it up. It's been on our to do list for....like a couple years now? heh.

I can't afford the time off yet, but I could take off all the time off I wanted. That is definitely an upside to working with family. A downside to working with family is the lack of benefits. :p I had awesome benefits at my case management job. Can't wait to eventually get my license for therapy. If I could end up working where Cole works there's 10 sick days, 28 vacation days, multiple holidays and floating holidays... o_O

We could likely bring the freezer and put it where the guinea pigs' cage is, and put the cage on top of that. It's a temporary fix as eventually the pigs will need something bigger--long before we move out of here. I still want to keep true to my self-promise that the next place we move will be our actual house-home. :P

Dude...I want to work at Cole's job! O_o;

That's the thing...you know the ins and outs of my job. Yes I work from home, but it comes with it's downsides. One of them the benefits suck. Luckily Aaron has something. It isn't as nice as his old solar paneling job, but it's better than nothing.

The company has STRICT productivity requirements, but otherwise is epic. It's where I interned, and I love everything about it. I keep hoping that someday I get back there as a stable position that's... you know, paid. xD

LOL. Well, I think that's a point of a job. Otherwise, I'd find something more enjoyable and not worry about that part of it.

I guess they're just not hiring right now, or is it that you're still on the fence with your certification and tests? They still keeping you on the fence about that?

Indeed! xD

Mmm, with the licensing, I really don't know. I took my CRCE (for rehab counseling) October 12th, and they said to wait about 4-5 weeks for results. I figure by Thanksgiving the latest I'll know, but that's the exam my friend and I are pretty sure we failed. I am keeping faint hope though, as I DID read that some examination forms are intentionally more difficult, and the grading is adjusted for the harder forms.

The application I mailed off to sit for my NCE (for clinical mental health counseling) is the one I've heard NOTHING from. It's been almost 8 weeks and there's been... nothing. It's making me really antsy, and there's no one to speak with to track down status information.

The job market for LCPCs (what I'll be if I pass the NCE) is dry. The company I spoke of isn't hiring right now either, but with Cole working there he gets to see internal job postings on a weekly basis, meaning he could give me the head's up about something appearing.

That's a good way to look at it, with Cole being in the know. At least then he's your eyes and ears.

That sucks about the NCE. There's absolutely no way to follow up either? That seems pretty harsh.

Also there's no market for LCPCs? I'm pretty sure that's what my counselor is registered at. It's a shame as I'm sure there's plenty of people who would benefit from it...I guess the money is just not there? She works at a clinic that's tied in with the church, but luckily for my sake they ask you at the beginning your feelings about including any religious/spiritual talk and she's very respectful if it does come up. She understands my reservations about religion, given my background.

I did email the board just now because I got absolutely irritated that the check has been cashed since September 20th. Far as I can tell, when the state board gets back to me with permission to sit, I then have another 4 week wait while the NBCC processes my application with them? It would be another $200 if so. They don't give you straight, clear-cut answers to any of this.

The need for therapy is so great here I could find work in time, or independently. I just want to work local if possible, with an office space, and with benefits. I don't want to travel if I can help it. The state limitations that are currently on my license may very well shift, too. It likely won't be a limitation that lasts forever, because enough people need it despite what insurance they carry.

Well good luck with that, and good lord $200 a pop? (And here I was bitching over $40 testing fees for driving! D:)

Anyways, Aaron is shooing me off to bed. I got his lunch packed and was seeing him out the door. He goes to me "Shouldn't you be heading towards bed?". Yes dear....

Talk to you tomorrow. :)

With Cole and me combined we've put in over $1,000 in examination fees. It's been sickening for sure!

Have a good night! Or a good sleep? xD Either way!

I snuck on long enough to check IVs on some pokemon. Tisk tisk me. That's crazy...That's in examinations alone? O_o. Yeowch!

I'm hopefully going to sleep pretty well once I'm finished up. So excited to get the next two days over with!

I'm currently on lunch. Was going to have some left overs from last night and make me a pulled pork sandwich. I found out the bread I ironically threw in Aaron's lunch last night for his sandwich is pretty moldy on the other end. I tossed it. I think he ate it last night... Whoops... Anyways I've got pretty much a bunless pulled pork sandwich with provolone melted on top. Still tastes pretty good.

OMG...first 2 hours today the only thing that worked was our phone. I had to pretty much give general information to customers without even the website to work from. Now that things are back up and running we have most tools available, but not without hiccups. I've been just cartwheeling my way through work feeling pretty carefree and just not letting to get to me....BECAUSE 2 MORE DAYS LEFT. YAAAAAAY. It's a wonderful feeling to see things crumble around you but know it's not going to be your problem in 2 days time.

Hey Chi. Since you don't have charity anymore, I don't thin there is another place I could hang out with you. *settles down in corner*

Well, pretty alright, actually! Got some of the EIs I'm missing put on hold for me, I've updated my Quest thread (ALL commons updated! Took me a while), Exchange. Well, IRL not as great, but could be worse. :)
And how are you? ^^

Yep. I was able to have most of the day off with my kiddo, and my husband stayed home as well. It's a little past 6pm now, and I imagine I'll be doing this until bedtime. I sometimes work better in the evening anyway.

What time is it there? :)

Here? A nearly half past 1am. Probably heading off soon, but not just yet. Will stay here for a while, maybe RP a bit. :)

And that sounds like a good day so far. Nice that you can work when you want to, really, I'm better at doing things at evening/night, too, even tidying up home, lol.

Most days I go in and work an 8am-4pm shift, but some days I get to work from home. Maybe once or twice a month? Either way it's nice!

Oooh, it's definitely getting late there now.
