I've left and come back... three times. However, I at least would lurk here and there. I've always felt some kind of love when it came to Mene.

I left Gaia longer and more often though, even after I set up a pixel doll shop. Which was doing reeeally well. But I just.. couldn't get back into it. Too many issues and too little staff to help with it all.

I don't like gaia...I sometimes go on there and play games, but thats it. e -e

from what I heard, gaia has just became very greedy and gold is hard to make so people beg for gold so they can buy the over priced items.

No, I cared about the site when I became a mod. But when you see things on the other side, it can really change your perspective. I was a mod for the GD, and... you could easily see that there was hardly any control there. The users ran that area and us mods could hardly do anything. It's heartbreaking to see users just disregard the rules completely and not care about the outcome of their actions upon other users... And in return, it made me realize how little control the staff truly has over offenders.

Gold isn't really hard to make there. In terms of my wealth here compared to Gaia, I'm absolutely loaded. But in order to earn gold you must either exchange and merch, contribute, get lucky with RIGS, get lucky with fishing, get lucky with casino... Or have some kind of art skill that people want to pay for. That, or you have hordes of items from awhile ago that are in high demand now. Posting for gold? Psh, no one does that anymore there. It's practically unheard of.

One of my major issues with Gaia was and is their policy of hacked/botted items. If you receive a gift, even if it's anonymous, and it came from a hacked account or from a botter, you whole account could be banned permanently for "profiting from hackers." And the certain mods who (there are tiers of mods who run and do different things) can check to see if it's a botted/hacked item will either take a long time to reply, will give a run around answer, ignore, or tell the user to PM a more qualified moderator.

And if they don't ban your account, they'll lock your trades and shop for months on end, without so much as a reply. I've seen users wait a year for a solution to their account. It's really disheartening. x_x

I am glad you cared about the site when you were mod~ its just sad that users didn't care about the rules and that the mods couldn't do much about it.
no worries, I don't mind. xD I just find it sad that its like that. There hack/botted items policy is just..not right. If the user doesn't know that it was a hacked account, then why the hell should they get in trouble?! Its just stupid! but...whats a GD? is it a forum or something?

Now that would be hard for me, seeing how I suck at games, don;t have items of any value, and have little art skills, it would be hard for me to make gold. :/ Now, I would post to get gold, but since it isn't like that on gaia and the fact I am just about never on it, means I would barely get gold.

I dont think its fair to be angry at them. It sounds like they were just having a good time, and its not their fault everyone assumed they'd been kidnapped or something. Sure, thats a very serious thing, but its not as though they knew it was going on, you know?

However, they probably could have behaved better on the news. I'd imagine that thanking everyone and apologizing for making them worry would be better than laughing it off.

The GD is General Discussion. Only it's a place full of trolls, porn bot attacks, and general disheartened people. They try to insult other users to try to seem cool in front of others and disregard any action that mods try to take.

And I agree about the hacking/botting policy. I know it's a precaution to stop hacked items from getting around and about, and I think they are getting better about it. I've had quite a few friends banned because they received an item and the general response from the admin e-mail was, "There's nothing we can do." Meh..

Agreed. xD I'm lucky on Gaia, because I joined when posting and polls did mean something. But now it's a chore to quest things there.

The one thing I don't like about Gaia's items is how the pixel artists would rather produce more items that are oddly positioned than have quality work. Don't get me wrong, the pixeling is pretty. But some positioning of items don't go with the angle of the avatar and it's easy to spot. >_< It always bothered me how the head of that area pretty much said, "I'd rather have quantity over quality."
