I'm not very trusting in the internet for my monies
Tonight is the first time I finally started online banking, and thats because I put a check in my account yesterday and my money still hasn't showed up, and I was trying to make sure that something didn't happen to my money. It was the only possible way to check to see what was going on with my transactions. Seems that the people at the bank were just lazy asses and didn't get to my check today, so now I have to wait until Monday to get my money. -__-;; |
Aw, that's not good at all!
My bank let me get away with a few discrepancies when I was younger because of the account, but once I became of age, the treatment by the manager was less than satisfactory. I mean, generations of my family had been banking there, and when I was changing over my account, the girl was wearing a prom gown and had an expression that told me she wasn't entirely there. It was kind of like the expression Gwyneth Paltrow makes when she's bored and annoyed at the same time (she's great at it). Needless to say, I was appalled. I found another bank that greets me by name whenever I walk in. It doesn't matter if it's days or months between visits, it's so delightful. n_____n |
Yeah, I don't seem to have another way to donate save for paypal.
I like the donating-through-sms a lot better. |
SMS, that's usually phone-related payment, right?
That makes me even more nervous! |
@jupiter: yes, it is. I've had no problem using that system before though.
But my country was removed from the list so I can't use it anymore :C |
Aw, that's not very cool. Was there ever a reason for it, or just that it wasn't popular enough to retain your country?
I used to mail in donations, but now I'm a paranoid parakeet who thinks everyone is out to steal my money. |
Yeah; I think I might be the only active Belgian on here D:
It's a small country after all. But still, a bummer. |
I know how you feel.
No one ever ships to where I live. |
I...live in California. ^^;; Sooo, everything is pretty chill with us. :x
@ crane - Turns out that my money went through yesterday, so I had plenty in my bank. I had enough that I didn't have to worry about spending it all, but I would have preferred to have had all my money in my bank incase I had needed it. I dont appreciate how long it took them. :< But glad to know that my money is safe. I'm not sure how the people in that specific bank are, but the one that I usually go to tends to have pretty nice people. So, its not that they're bad or mean people. |
hahaha
I know one of the tellers, but that's about as far as it goes in the old one. I just remember telling them that I had banked there my entire life and asking what they could offer me. They said I couldn't open an account without a deposit, and I had to keep it above a few hundred dollars or else I would be charged extra. My face when she said that, ahahaha! |
Yeah, I remember that I had no idea that you had to put a certain amount of money into an account just to open. So luckily my mom was with me when I was very first opening an account, because I hadn't had any money with me. ><;; I think that it had been a minimum of $35 to open one. Not that bad, but that was just the money to stay in the account.
That is pretty rediculous. |
I still think it's crap. They're making money off of you on continuously compounded interest plus whatever they charge to keep the account.
So I found a bank that lets me have a checking account for free, gives me a gift whenever I refer someone, and I don't have to keep a balance in the account. n____n |
And that is always very good. lol
What was your old bank? That way I know to avoid them. I dont think i'll leave my current bank, because they're pretty convienant and haven't really messed with me except for that one time, but only the future can tell. |
It's the [ bank name has been omitted for discretion ], so I don't think there's anything for anyone else to worry about, ahahaha!
|
lol Oh dear. I imagine that I wouldn't have to worry about that indeed.
My cousin might, though. She lives there, but she works with Wells Fargo, so i'm sure all her banking is done there. |
There are a few of those around, but I've never had any interest in using them. I'm sure they're great when you're working for the company.
I need to update my drawer, again. |
Yeah, they're around here, too, but I dont care to join them, either. lol
I need to update mine again, too. |
URG! Don't get me started on banks. What was started for security was taken WAY to far. "Keep your money here and the bad Vikings won't pillage your village and steal your life savings" LIES! Now the high tec pirate can steal your life saving from blocks away fro their laptop. Money is never safe, and neither are we. It's just something we have to learn to deal with and take it as it comes.
It's sad that now if you look at your employer and asked to be paid every week in cash (nm gold per year) they just laugh at you and ask for your direct deposit number for your fake electronic data. We might as well be slaves because the "money" is worthless and as useful as thin air. Gold, silver and other raw resources like wood and food make way more sense then digital or paper money. It can be stored and used in times of crazy too. Just try and barter with digital money in a zombie apocalypse world I dare you! It's only peoples belief in the fake money that's keeping it there. All it serves is to feed peoples fears. ...yeah maybe I'm crazy *shrugs* |
It kind of happened when AIG had problems with delivering credit. Most businesses, as fucked up as it is, run on credit rather than physical currencies. The near economic halt was because AIG ran out of money and businesses that had nothing to do with the national banks were unable to complete day-to-day expenses.
Mmhm, that was another thing I noticed. They don't like to use a check, and would rather deposit it electronically, which can be kind of a hassle to keep track of because they might not give you what you deserve and you'd take longer to realize it. I don't know why a business wouldn't want to give you cash; everyone I've worked for would rather do it under the table. |
Hey everyone how are you guys tonight?
|
I'm doing alright. And yourself?
|
I'm great. I love your avi its really cute ^^
