lol, very true
The newest Mermaid movie was horrible. The one were it is suppost to be about their past.
I mean it was cute and everything but it made no sense with the other movies.
And with the sequels you can always tell they didn't try as hard to make them good as the first movies

Frequently yes. The sequels are suckish and they obviously just assume people are stupid enough to buy them because they liked the first one. I'm much more likely to go see or buy a movie with an awesome original concept than to buy a crappy ill-plotted rehashing of an old favorite, at least when it comes to fairy tales.

I'm the same way.
Though I do have to admit I did buy all the Aladdin and Lion King movies.

The Lion King movies aren't fairy tale based. They are based off of Shakespearean tragedies that have been Disneyed to not have crappy endings. The first one is Hamlet, the second one is Romeo and Juliet, and the 1 1/2 one is based off of the play Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, which is a retelling of Hamlet through the quirky eyes of his two unfortunate school friends. If you haven't seen the movie for R & G are dead, I highly recommend it. Much more fun than actual Hamlet. ^_^ Watch the Lion King movies with those plays in mind and you'll see what I mean. I think they are absolutely brilliant! But then again, I like Shakespeare quite a bit. ^_^'

Yeah, I know. I was just talking about the general Disney animation.
I'll have to look into that.
You know now that you mention it I can see Hamlet in them.

I know, it shocked me the first time I made the connection. However the more I looked into it the more I could see it and it's positively one of the coolest things Disney has ever done. It helps that R and G are dead is one of my favorite movies. Seriously, watch that movie! Even if you aren't a huge Shakespeare buff it's well worth the time.

I like Shakespeare and Hamlet is my favorite.
I just don't usually watch movies of his stuff since they usually are horrible.
I'll have to watch that movie.

If your video rental store is Blockbuster, then they sure as hell won't have it!
My biggest issue with video rental stores isn't just that On Demand is more convenient; it's also that they don't know how the hell to keep the right stuff in the place anymore! :gonk:
I remember being a kid and going to rent videos on an almost weekly basis. I loved it! I had eclectic tastes even then, and used to rent a lot of Shirley Temple movies ( )... It's 100% guaranteed that Blockbusters no longer carry movies older than ten years, hell, even FIVE years. And the same seems to go for the other store chains as well.
If these stupid stores knew how to operate properly, they wouldn't be in such a hole!

@Facade- Nope, the Blockbuster in town went out of business because they were so expensive and had very little in it.
But the Family Video is kind of the same way. They have some older movies though so it isn't horrible.
It really says something about a movie rental place when they only have 3 Disney movies and they are all sequels.
Good luck with the gym Roachi ^^
