It is really annoying that my required computer class only gives directions on how to do stuff for Microsoft users. The teacher pretty much told us that if we're Mac users we have to figure it out ourselves. And then we get penalized for our Microsoft Office software not having the same exact features as Windows. Is it the 29th yet? I want this class to be over.
|
That sounds like a lot of fun. >w< And getting out for a day does sound nice, makes me think of taking a walk along the ravine nearby my house that leads all the way to the nearby pond. So peaceful and beautiful, well minus the pesky insects that is. >.>
McDonalds has turquoise arches? I thought they were yellow...
Yeah, that is annoying. But for your teacher to penalize just cause you use a Mac and the features in MS Office may not be the exact same? That's bullcrap. D<

I wouldnt argue the point any more then I have *nods*
Hmmm....I don't know what office 2011 can do to on the MAC to know how to help you or I would.
I use the PC version at work some but......I don't know the differences.....what feature are you trying to use?

Ari, McDonalds does have yellow arches. But the McDonalds in Sedona is the only McDonalds in the world to have turquoise arches. They said that the yellow clashed with the look of the area, because of all the red rock, and petitioned McDonalds to let them have turquoise instead.
Cora, I have to add a photo album and then format the album. But the best I can do is insert images individually and format them and hope that it looks similar to what the assignment is supposed to look like. That said, she doesn't provide examples of what the assignment is supposed to look like so I'm pretty much just going to be stuck winging it.
And the school supposedly has an online version of the software that we can use through a mirror or whatever, but I can't seem to find that anywhere amongst the available software. So I'm just a little stuck. And I don't know any windows users.

-pc fan personally-
Probably because I'm a gamer. ;D
However, a teacher that penalizes you for having different features on your version is a shitbag. :/

Could you use the computer lab at the school to do the formatting?
I don't need to do formatting personally o.0

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing as Cora. Surely there's a lab you can use?
I don't even like using Microsoft Office. Especially not Powerpoint. Prezi is way better.

I have to drive an hour to get to the school. I emailed the teacher, and she apparently made an announcement about Mac users not having the feature for this assignment and just to let her know that we're mac users when we submit and she won't mark us off for it not being perfect. Just try to get as close as we can with it.

That's kinda cool. Now I wish I had a McDonalds nearby that has its arches in a different colour. >w>

Thanks. I'm just playing around for now, and getting used to working with small avatars again. XP

But the metric system's so much easier to understand. It's the imperial system that's harder to understand. *nodnod*

not if you've been using it your entire life.
However, if you know neither and need to learn one metric is easier.

I think the metric system would work better for temperatures, but distance makes more sense to me in the imperial system.

Well, depends on what sort of distance you're trying to measure. For shorter stuff I think centimetres would be better, but longer distances feet would be much more handier. :3

Nice. The toughest measurements for me would be Fahrenheit. Just can't get used to it at all. D: Though I think most countries in the world use Celsius, I think, so it shouldn't affect me too much.

I think converting temperatures is way easier than converting distances or mass. I like the Fahrenheit scale because it has smaller increments, and we're more sensitive to these increments than Celcius or Kelvin scales suggest.

I like Celsius cause I'm just used to it, plus it seems to be used a lot more in the world...other than in the US.

To do any real science you have to convert from Celcius to Kelvin anyway, granted, the conversion is much easier (since the scale is the same), but eh. I still think C to F is the most simple since you don't have to worry about what units you're using (like you would for distances or mass, e.g. ft vs in vs mile vs mm vs cm vs km; there's just extra steps for those).
