Hype draws in more users though! It's always an extremely difficult task getting enough users to play each cycle, which is unfortunate because the game is actually really fun.

I know a lot of it has to do with users being wary of time management, which is something that we're planning on working on this upcoming cycle so that instead of the usual long, drawn out competition, it will be short and sweet; the original goal for the challenge was to have it last anywhere from 6-8 weeks total, and because of everything that gets in the way (ie. contestants needing extensions, judging not being turned in on time, hosts not being able to come online, events, etc). Cora and I have come up with a new type of schedule that allots a certain amount of time for production, judging, and updating that between the two of us, should keep everything working and on track. The only thing that would change or alter the timeline, would be if a) extensions are used, in which case we'll wait until the following week to put up a new challenge just so it sticks to our planned routine/schedule, or b) if there is a site/user event, as we want all of the contestants to have adequate time to participate in the event and not have to worry about deadlines for the contest.

I'm hoping that after the next cycle, we'll be able to keep up the creativity and raise further awareness about the contest to bring more and more people in. Not that I don't like everyone who is a return competitor, but I think it would be fun to see a new group every time so that we can have a much wider range of avatars and styles.

Or in the very least one or two new people each time.

We need to break this stigma that PM is a scary thing. I've found that there are a lot of users who would like to join but are afraid to.

I was scared to join. That's why it took me until the last round to finally join. I was WAY too shy. And I was intimidated at how good everyone was at making avatars when I wasn't good at all! I thought there was no way that I could win because everyone else was SO MUCH BETTER! But I finally worked up the nerve to join and really enjoyed it! And I've enjoyed judging this round! And I have my eyes set on that mentor for the next round *wants to be Tim Gunn* XD

OH! and i'm working on convincing one of my real life friends to get BACK on mene and apply in here. I think she would be great at it. Though because she's still fairly new and hasn't posted much in the past... she doesn't have very many items yet.
Gonna teach her the ropes. let her borrow my items and such if she does get in.

I'd appreciate others helping to since my items are limited as well. xD but broader than hers...

i have to admit, i've never joined before because of that very thing. it seemed very intimidating at first but when i did the mini one you had going during the event it made me feel better about it

I'll admit to having been scared off by the idea of PM initially, but after judging and seeing how hard everyone worked on their entries (and how many ways in which the challenges were interpreted), I definitely want to give it a shot.

I was a scared to join as well both because I wasn't sure my avatars were good enough and also because I wasn't sure if I would have the time to meet the deadlines. I'm glad that I finally did decide to join and I had a lot of fun with the challenges. Losing this last round was my own fault. I diverted from the original route I was going with my avatar and leaned more towards the movie part so my avatar turned out more costumie then what I had planned for it originally. I guess that is what I get for second guessing myself, lol.

My only problem with your entry was how much it looked like a "set". I didn't feel there was enough variety of items for it to be creatively stunning because it looked like items that were meant to go together.

Yeah that was my fault for sticking to just one color instead of using multiple like usual. I should have used at least two instead or maybe have tried to vary the shades more, but oh well.

Cream would have been pretty, or lavender.
