My advice for everyone right now is to edit your avatars. Don't put unnecessary items on your avatar just because it hides something or adds some color that you like. Think of your theme and stick to it. I know mene is all about matching avatars but remember that this particular avatar is telling a STORY. Your story is a natural disaster. So don't add things that don't fit into that natural disaster :)

That comment wasn't aimed at one particular person. I just think everyone in here is second guessing themselves and as I read the comments I'm just giving a tip. Ultimately if YOU are happy with the avatar...that's all you can ask for!

One thing I learned as a pixelist (and this kick in the butt was given to me by Xuvrette) is that you can't possible please everyone. People would tell me all the time "Change this, change that, change this" on items I would make when I was doing things for the newbie shop. And the comments people gave would contradict what someone else said. Finally Xuvrette told me, "You can try to please us as much as possible. But if you don't agree with someone's comment, it's up to you! Feel free to say no!" So I started realizing sometimes I had to stick by my original plan :) And ultimately I'm happier!

If you're happy with what you've created, that's winning enough. Stick with your personal style and sense of aesthetics, do things that are signature to you, and don't worry so much about what others think. You'll do better for it.
