I was homeschooled from the 5th grade to the end of high school (including senior year).
I'm now in college and have a 4.0 GPA

Okay.. so with previous history (btw scavanger hunt tasks are up fire. don't know if you get pings)
would you say homeschooling from the beginning is better? Or having some public school time?

No - actually this year I've been on a 12 month contract so I'm currently getting paychecks through the end of this month. Then I'll start my new contract.

The new one will probably be a ten month contract but I'm just going to set some money aside each paycheck and save it for the summer month bills!

Ahh do you prefer it that way? Seems like it would save a lot of troubles in paper work and taxes.

My first job ( this past year at the private school)...I got it because of my friend. The music teacher before me left in February so he subbed for them until the end of the year. Then he recommended me. Sometimes you have to have a friend on the inside to get you that first foot in the door. This year, I had a year of experience under my belt when I was interviewing...so I found a lot more Principals were interested because of that.

I think having a 12 month contract is better - I don't have to worry about dealing with it - but the ten month isn't either...just have to remember to set some aside.

Oh thank you! I skimmed over it but was on my way to talk to my advisor about classes

I mean, there a pluses of both. For my brothers, I think they needed that interaction with other kids. There are homeschool groups you can join that'd be perfect for the socialization. That's what my cousins did. They were homeschooled from kindergarten to the end of high school. My one cousin finished college a year early because of how advanced she was, and they didn't miss out on anything. They had plenty of friends, went on field trips, school dances, prom, etc. all with the homeschool groups. For us though, there weren't any homeschool groups around us, so it was harder on my brothers. For me though, the private school we went to held me back. They wouldn't let me advance to the grade I was supposed to be in (I started school a year late because I was going through stuff with an abusive father, so I started school when my brother did) even though I was making all A's with a couple B's. When I became homeschooled, I did 7th and 8th grade in the same year, and finished high school a year and a half early.

Oh you're welcome! I know a lot of people put it down, but it really is a wonderful option to consider. I wrote an entire paper about the benefits of it. I can pm it to you if you'd like
There are a lot of things people don't even consider with homeschooling. Like I said, there are groups (who will also help with homework, by the way), book stores that specifically sell books for homeschoolers, your kids eat better and are in less danger, you can cater to their learning ability, they aren't held back or passed along when they aren't ready to move on, there are so many benefits.
Now I'm not saying that homeschool is better than public/private schools (don't want to offend anyone), but it is a great choice for several reasons.

@Project Mene
Is there a way I can get a quote of the judges critiques from my natural disaster entry? I'd like to use it for future reference when making entries :)

@fire
the schools around here especially put it down. and well . . . probably because we're saying screw you the schools in there minds. (which i technically am because i'm horribly mad at my school growing up) In this town you have to be the 12 generation in a family to not be the brunt of the bullying. and ect. I hate it. And since my kids will only be the 3rd... yeah. don't want them to have to go through that. But seriously.... everything your saying is just making me happier and happier about my decision. No matter how difficult it might get.
