I have the same problem. I think I can put names to our problem, too! It's called Mythos and Ethos and their fabulous fashion sense.

Damn them! Although part of my problem is that I dress monochrome. XD

The winner in UP seem to be layered and color coordinated out the wazoo. Too much for me!! :O

Pfft, Wyrm! I just prey on people's love for teal... UP does seem to have a lot of focus on color combinations and balance.
I swear deep down we all have hive-mind in there... hummy hive-mind. teal mind~

i choose the ones that appeal the most to me personally... that tends to be greyscales of awesomness... and reds and blacks combos. xD but that's not all. its just what i seem to lean towards.

I think quite a few simple and cosplay avis win UP too. O: I think I usually look for balance in the avis I nom, but I also like nice color combinations and just pretty avis. X3

Also, I've won Admin's Pick three times and User's Pick two times. > w> But I only like one of my avis that won UP and one of my avis that won AP. o 3o
