Hehee... *goes to assemble!*
|
Oh oh, color challenge! I want to claim AIR!
|
I claim Captain Planet! [ninja]
Or I will as soon as I find eyes. Thank you for the loan, Cora! |
Which leaves me with water which would have been my choice to start with :D
We'll miss ya, Wyrm... but you're already rocking the Cap'n! |
Mythos... you can't just do the water background with sand. I mean... just sayin' [lol]
|
...but but but...! What if I add bubbles?
|
... Well, honestly I guess it would have originality going for it. You could argue that it was minimalism!
|
[lol]
Ohh out of curiosity... are colors between those we're assigned allowed? Like aqua being between green and blue? |

2. I don't mind if you guys go baseless, but remember that the premise of this competition is that it is an avatar contest. I would prefer that you keep your avatars since that's what we're looking for, however, I won't say no to you guys playing around with the invisible bases if that is what you want to do. Quote:
So, just to make sure I've got this correct: Kent: Fire Mythos: Water Chex: Air Maria: Earth Mythos, I'll allow all shades of your three main colors. If you have blue, then that would include things like Atlantis/Aqua, Turquoise, Navy, Moonlight, Sky, etc. The main point is that we can see the theme of your element and that your colors don't stray too far from that. |
CAPTAIN PLANET!
Nobody else ever knows who Captain Planet is! I could tell who it was as soon as I saw it, too! |
Hehe... I'm very pleased with this cosplay. I don't do cosplays that often, but... when I saw the theme for this round was elements and I was eliminated, I figured I'd just be their powers combined!
|
Haha, Wyrm, I love your Captain Planet. I never even watched that show and I recognized it!
|
I am iconic. o.o
|
I miss Captain Planet. It was a good show, though I never did understand what "heart" was all about. I mean, I understood the intention behind it, but still. That's not a power.
|
I think they were partly going for another ethnic group... but I'm not sure either.
|
I could sure use some help! I am EARTH!
|
I like it... but you do fade into the background a lot-- with the dark skin and matching the greens so closely you're almost as invisible as if you'd used the blank base. I don't know if that's what you were aiming for, mind!

I wonder what I could do to fix that and make the avvie shine a bit more. |
xD I had a horrible web coding instructor in high school who wouldn't let us play music on headphones so we had to sit in silence for and hour everyday which got to be pretty miserable. He finally gave in and said that we could play whatever music we could fit onto a floppy disc but it had to be played out loud so he could make sure there wasn't any foul language... I managed to find a super compressed version of the Captain Planet theme online which just barely fit on the disc but it was in German... it didn't matter, anyways- I had music and I played it nonstop the first day I could. The next day I apologized to the other students but they took my disk and started playing it for all of that day as well. By the end of it he let us play whatever music we wanted as long as it was through headphones because he couldn't take the Captain Planet theme song in German anymore.
u_u Much hero, very success, wow. Maria: I found that sometimes using the fog poses from YOLO can actually make the avatar pop out a little more from dark background. I'm not sure about the one you're currently using but it could be worth a try at least! |
Alrighty - I did a few things - I took the border away, went to a slightly larger skin tone, changed the tree limbs from black to brown, and added the fog! What do you think?
|
Oh wow, I love where you are going with it.
Are the fishnets and tattoos to give it the appearance of bark? I like it. There is also the branch from the Deep in the Jungle EI. I have it on right now, actually. Wait, aren't you trying to blend in with the tree? Wouldn't you want her to blend in then? I think a lighter skintone to match the lighter brown that you have on might look nice, too. |

But I'm really supposed to BE the tree. The light tone really is quite different than the bark of the tree so I'm not sure it works D: I'll try! Also - LMAO I made that vine XD I forgot about it XD ---------- Post added 04-29-2014 at 10:03 PM ---------- Alrighty - added the vine and then also lightened the skin tone more. |
Yeah, I can't really see the blotches. I was going to suggest it, but then thought that trees don't necessarily have random spots. But you can't see it looking weird on the avi, so that's good.
Exactly, that's what I thought. So in being the tree, you should blend in with the parts around it, right? Because it looks like you're on a mossy branch and have twigs poking around. You could make it a bird nest? There's always that big goofy colorful bird that looks like the one from UP. lol Neither of the Leon brown skins match? It doesn't look bad how it is. Just a shame it can't match the brown of the branches. |
Su - the lion skins were a fabulous idea!!!!
IN terms of a birds next - I'm only allowed to use green/black/brown - so that colorful bird can't be used D: XD |
It's looking really good, Maria! Doing the lion skin-- I think that's what you have-- lightened it up enough that you're not disappearing. [yes]
