oh wow yeah you have lots of time.

and now that my entry is in im going to tweek my avatar so she looks more like how i feel right now...

ObviouslyAya 07-12-2012 01:05 AM

Now to be patient (> w<) I think I like my choice of film and my entry enough to not change it

I like avatar contests, because the challenge causes me to create avatars I might not have created otherwise~

hummy 07-12-2012 01:10 AM

i love your avatar, BSW♥.

bloodstainedwings 07-12-2012 01:20 AM

i agree aya. they really push me to my limits. its super fun.

thank you hummy!

Cora 07-12-2012 01:25 AM

Aya, just take your time.

Just throwing something together doesn't always do well in this competition.

BSW, I like your avi though ^.^

Vanora 07-12-2012 01:26 AM

I just noticed my challenge. @[email protected];
I should work on that. >.<

ObviouslyAya 07-12-2012 01:39 AM

@ Cora Lorington:

I'm not throwing stuff together, I've been at it for a while tonight
I'm just content with what I've come up with~

Cora 07-12-2012 02:02 AM

I didn't meant that to sound rude, reading over it now it sounds harsh. I just merely meant, don't necessarily go with the first option. Play with it again tomorrow and see if you still like it as much as you do today.

Seiki Nova 07-12-2012 02:24 AM

I generally tell people not to submit the first thing they come up with. I know when I was a contestant WAY WAY WAY back when, when I would turn something in early, I would sit there and stare at it and come up with better ideas and then regret it. Not saying that happens to everyone, but if you finish early, explore another idea and then if what you come out with is worse than your original stuff, you still have that original entry to fall back on.

Canadian Film Discussion, the reason I didn't include Canadian films was because they're too similar to American film. Same goes for UK/British film. While there are differences in film style, they're shot relatively the same and the storylines are written in the same general way.

ObviouslyAya 07-12-2012 02:30 AM

And I probably sounded defensive in return. It was just an
exchange of words and opinions, not meant in any bad way~

Seeing as how I have until the 19th, I'll probably play more at
some point. Maybe I'll come up with something I like more, maybe not

Thanks to both of you though, for your thoughtful guidance (n wn)

I LOVE my choice of film! I really really want to watch it [drool]
I may have to search through Google as usual, hopefully there'll be English subtitles

Shadami 07-12-2012 03:33 AM

I couldn't get on all day. Curses I missed the first rush to make entries. Even though they are due next Thursday.

Love the competition challenge, so cool. Gonna look through at what I missed

I'm short too ~ But, I think my fav. is only the ride that goes round a round in a circle with cubicle sized individual cars. xD Well, I think they need to somehow re-design the roller coaster seats and boat seats because I KNOW I'll end up flying out of those things. T T;

Oooo! You wear glasses?! I have such a fetish for them even though I have 20 x 20 vision. [problem]
Omaigosh! We have new ICONS! D:

I am 5'3" with glasses that I'm scared I will lose. And I'm always checking to see if my ring and earrings are still on. Roller coasters terrify me. And the drop rides you guys were talking about.. OMG never ever. Some fat Guy (I heard anyways) didn't buckle on the screaming eagle and died. And another girl was to little and slid out.

Fauxreal 07-12-2012 04:16 AM

There are wayyyyy too many Bollywood movies - I have to get specific... I think.

Maria-Minamino 07-12-2012 04:35 AM

Does it have to be a Russian film from today? Or can it be one from decades ago that is one of the most well known?

Seiki Nova 07-12-2012 04:42 AM

Any time period is fine.

Fauxreal 07-12-2012 04:57 AM

I've almost got a first version going - Still working though. *yay*!

M i r o 07-12-2012 06:52 AM

Ha. Mines really gross. XD
I wanted to upchuck when the characters ate the stuff in this movie... [cry]

Foreigners who eat gross stuff really disgust me.

*You can watch it here: The Triplets of Belleville Or on Netflix (I think)?
Ignore the naked up-part in the beginning. That's the only retarded part of it. Too bad I couldn't understand a word of it.
The main male character looks like Hilter when he was a boy. O . o;

@ Shadami; Well, doctors and everyone else says humans aren't supposed to be on roller coasters anyway. We just make up stuff that ends up killing us. LOL;; aww, you're only one inch shorter than me. xP!

Hm... didn't they make wrap-around accessories to secure glasses to ones head?

Screaming Eagle? Where's that ride at?
Yeah. A lot of people die in theme parks. Usually it's because of sliding out, others is when they have a a heart attack or stroke on the way down. I don't think I've ever been in the same place when it happened, though.

I stick to the "normal" rides. Swings, the loop-de-loop car thing that just goes in a circle forward then goes backward. I don't care for haunted houses because the one in Indiana Beach has rubber rats and whatever stapled to the floor and I kept falling and stripping because it's a "blacked out" hallway. :/

Like, there's something called the Manta at Sea World (or similar). It has the coaster make you face down over the park as it zooms around, so you see the ground the entire time (except in the rare loop-de-loop). I was having a mini panic attack as I rode the first few yards of it (where it creeps up the slope thing facing down over pavement so you know precisely where you will fall if the safety measures fail!) Once it actually got going, it was less terrifying - though I did cling white-knuckle to the grips. Did not go on it again. xD

And there are rides that are often called something like "Freefall" where they do sort of an elevator to take you to the top of a tower-like thing so you can see the entire park. (Sometimes there's a second step where they tilt you forward.) And then (in either method) they drop you, so you hurtle towards the ground (worse, I'm sure, when you can see the ground coming up). I do not ride those. The only exception is the Tower of Terror in DisneyWorld, which is basically the same concept, but in a more manageable (for me) method. I've probably ridden that one a bit less than a dozen times through the years. I'd ride it more if it weren't generally so busy. xD

The kiddy ride roller coasters may be to your liking. XD
They don't jar you as much or turn you into a balloon to fly away ~ ~ ~

I've never been to Sea World... but I think I know what you're talking about. They advertise it on the TV a lot, with Cancun and all those other places. o _ o;; I would DIE. You were right to not go on it again. I don't think people should chance it with that stuff...

You mean like the Donut Shoot? That's at Indiana Beach. The seats are in a circle and the thing that shoots you up and pulses is in the middle of it, which is why they call it a donut. It pulses you slowly up and then you shoot to the top and then down to the bottom, repeatedly. I almost lost a shoe on that darn thing. > . o;

My step dad lost his hat when he went on the swing ride, where it just glides you in a circle. The guy on the Ferry ride saw it and was going to get it but it sank to the bottom of the water as he accidentally ran over it. LOL

My mom busted her knuckles until they were bloody, playing Wack-a-mole. She won me a XL Lion heart Care Bear, along with My little ponies, and some miniature Care bears. A couple appeared next to us when my mom was going at it and the girlfriend told her boyfriend to win her a BIG stuffed animal but he could only manage to get a medium sized one. She got pissy and gave us dirty looks when my mom earned 500 tickets to get me Lion heart. XD Her boyfriend felt inadequate next to my mother. Funny stuff ~

@ Faux; Oh, I finally got my outfit all DAC'd.
It's prolly going to take me most of the deadline time to get it done. *sniff*

Shadami 07-12-2012 08:13 AM

Holy long post batman!
The screaming eagle us at seabreeze. A water/theme park in Rochester,NY I used to go all the time when I was little. Every ride terrified me, but I loved the water park. The bumper cars, and by 5th grade, forced by my posing best friend(-.-) the yo -yo. That chair dude that goes up into the air and goes in a circle.

Sorry for typos. Auto correct on phone us weird, and touchscreend suck to much to try to fix it.

Yeah, I'm short. And I'm nor allowed on water slides without the strap cord thing for my glasses. They sell them right at the base of the slide. Scared to get sued for lost glasses my guess.

I see an outfit being made?

thats because america rips them off! Saw is just an american remake of Cube. and there are tones of examples for british shows and canadian films remade by americans. so thats not the fault of canadian films or british films. I blame American films! and i stand by canadian TV. Also Canadian humour is way funnier then american in my opinion. they are different. but its mainly because canadian and british cimema is more innovative and american cinema has more special effects.

i think you could have gotten away with canaduan films and british films as catagories.
