BSW, here's a link to a wiki page with a large list of Dutch films. There is another category, separate from that one, for Dutch porn, so I'm hoping that list I've given you is for other, non-pornographic films.

Now those aren't necessarily good or inspiring movies, so I might recommend looking up any sort of Dutch film awards, like their equivalent of the Golden Globes or whatever, and using winners/nominees.

i think a certain extent of this must be the factor of is being foreign. as in making it to world wide showings and acknowledgement. not just being well known in the country they hail from. might be my personal opinion, but thats how i feel it should be. otherwise, since mene is international, it could be called native films and everyone would just being doing their favorite film from their own nation. Like me doing my fav Canadian films as i am Canadian. But if i lived in Italy, Canadian films would be considered foreign right? thats why i think they need to be films international recognized as foreign films. Emmanuelle definitely is, but its also one of the innovative erotica films. having huge impact on the erotic genre and being one of the most well known erotic films. at the same time, its porn.

but i do run a panties contest... so i should be able to pull off the erotic Emmanuelle

yeah i also found out that human centipede is dutch.... that movie is .... F$^# ed. not other way of putting it. i dont think there is a way to represent that film on mene. its too bizarre.

also, please note that red sonja is more then half naked. and there is a porn of it. so it still counts in my dutch people make porn. and Human centipede is too messed to count as anything. anything at all. its messed up. even horror stands there with a stick poking at it. lol

my opinion of the dutch has just dropped considerably.. because just hearing that movie described makes me want to throw up and stops me from ever even attempting to watch a horror movie.

Don't watch it. Don't look it up. Don't even think about it. It's disgusting. I know several horror movie buffs who can't even stand that movie.
