Tans look silly to me. I really don't understand why people like them, especially given the known dangers. It doesn't look terrible if someone gets just a touch darker, but when someone with white white white skin is suddenly dark brown, it just looks strange. It doesn't look the same as someone who is naturally dark brown.
Fake tans look silly too. This girl in my history class bleaches her hair SO light and puts on SO MUCH fake tan, it just looks ridiculous. And when she has her hair pulled back, you can see the line where the fake tan ends right around her hairline.

I mean, she can look however she wants, but it's just not a good look, in my opinion.
I'm pale to transparent, depending on the spot and lighting. My feet and legs are often red or grayish, which is... kind of alarming. Sometimes I wonder if a very light tan would fix that, but I'm pretty sure I'm not capable of tanning. Only reddening and burning.

Aside from the effect that fluorescent lighting has on it, I'm happy with my natural skin tone and don't see a need to fight it. My hair color, on the other hand...
