I'd sell them to other people if I had other people to sell them to.

bloodstainedwings 05-12-2013 08:22 PM

yeah it kinda hard finding people who are willing to pay money for things that you make. its hard even finding people who think that the arts and crafts are actually worth supporting. most people sya they feel that way, but never act on it, so they dont really believe it. i actually buy all my paint and brushes from a local supplier. it costs more, but at least they are an independent art store.

Kirin Rosenbaum 05-13-2013 02:03 AM

I have bought a couple of handmade things of my original character.

bloodstainedwings 05-13-2013 10:41 AM

thats awesome.

so what are your plans this week?

Kirin Rosenbaum 05-13-2013 05:50 PM

Nothing major.

bloodstainedwings 05-13-2013 06:12 PM

me neither. im going to work on my quilt and work.

Kirin Rosenbaum 05-13-2013 08:04 PM

I have chimes tonight, and Thursday is knitting and crocheting. I am hoping to get together with a friend on Saturday.

bloodstainedwings 05-13-2013 08:21 PM

that sounds fun.

Kirin Rosenbaum 05-13-2013 08:44 PM

Yeah, need to get into Ann Arbor with my camera.

bloodstainedwings 05-13-2013 08:44 PM

oh yeah? whats there?

Kirin Rosenbaum 05-13-2013 08:55 PM

Pretty architecture, home to the University of Michigan. Great stuff to take pictures of. Should be some flowers, and the fountain might be on now. Oh and I might to to the Farmer's Market.

bloodstainedwings 05-13-2013 09:25 PM

that sounds like fun! when are you doing that? saturday?

Kirin Rosenbaum 05-13-2013 09:27 PM

Yeah I am hoping to anyways.

bloodstainedwings 05-13-2013 09:49 PM

well that sounds awesome.

i finished the palm tree i was making. it looks a little strange at the top... but outside of that i think it turned out great!

and i think im going to try to figure out a pattern for this awesome skirt i saw online. i love it and want to buy it, but it wont fit me...[cry]

but look how pretty it is!:

Kirin Rosenbaum 05-13-2013 09:51 PM

Very pretty, though not my style.

bloodstainedwings 05-13-2013 10:20 PM

its ok. not a lot of people would actually wear it. most people are like "wow so pretty, when would you wear that?" and my answer is always "at work! [:D]"

anyways im going to make it! i have some striped fabric that i hope to be able to use as the trim and then some black fabric for the skirt part. i dont think i will have the back ruffles as they have it. i think one layer will be enough. or maybe i will go buy brown fabric for the ruffles? and do it like the brown and black one.....ummm....

i also need to start thinking up shirts to wear with all these skirt i have. umm....shirts are si much harder to make though... you need to do inseeming and stuff. and for me, i have to use stretchy fabric or it just wont fit... and that stuff is soooooo much harder to sew!

Kirin Rosenbaum 05-14-2013 04:17 AM

Man I want you to make me a skirt of some sort. I've seen so much pretty fabric at Jo-Ann.

bloodstainedwings 05-14-2013 08:50 AM

sure! if you find a pattern you like and fabric you like, mail it to me and ill sew it and mail it back

Kirin Rosenbaum 05-14-2013 03:35 PM

Alright. I might just have to go pattern hunting the next time I'm at either Hobby Lobby or Jo-Ann Fabrics. I will have to figure out what measurements to get to you.

bloodstainedwings 05-14-2013 07:44 PM

for a skirt, really i would need waist, hips and height. thats about it. waist, would be where you want it to sit on you, hips are your widest part of your lower half, height would be from your waist to however long you want it. its pretty much the easiest thing to make because of those being the only measurements you need. the general shape is easy.. as long as you are not looking for a super tight fitting pensil skirt of sexy awesomeness, then those are harder and i would need more measurements. but for an a line or a poofy cute one, easy peasy.

also, feel free to take your time with that one. i have a lot on my plate right now so it might not be a good idea if you sent it all to me like next week. k?

Kirin Rosenbaum 05-14-2013 08:20 PM

It won't happen next week. Hmmmm. Might go search the net for skirt patterns. I am actually thinking a fallish one so lots of time for that.

bloodstainedwings 05-14-2013 08:38 PM

that sounds perfect! i cant wait to see what kind of skirt you want!

my boyfriends mom is going to a wedding in Jamaica and we might make her a dress for it.. or she might buy one... im trying to get her to buy something edwardian.... mostly because i love edwardian clothes... but she told me i can search the internet all i want for dresses that are summery and might work. so i have been searching for edwardian tea dresses all week. its pretty awesome. :)

Kirin Rosenbaum 05-14-2013 08:39 PM

I'm not sure either but I've seen cute Halloween fabric.

bloodstainedwings 05-14-2013 08:40 PM

oh my gosh me too!!!

check out this website for some amazing fabrics! they are a local store near me, but they sell online as well!

they are called greenwood quiltery. its where i found the gnome fabric.

Kirin Rosenbaum 05-14-2013 08:42 PM

Though I might have you make me a Christmas skirt... or a winter one. But first things first is the pattern.
