well i dont particularly need a pattern, just find a skirt shape you like, that compliments your body. what kind of skirt , aside from a winter skirt, are you looking for? simple? bold? long? short? poofy? layered? lolita? gothic? hippy? mod? etc...

Kirin Rosenbaum 05-14-2013 08:54 PM

I don't know. Oh you don't need a pattern? Well that will save me money. Though I am not going to get a new skirt till I get down to my goal weight.

bloodstainedwings 05-14-2013 08:56 PM

well thats fine. more time is probably a good thing... i am too ambitious you know that? anyways... what kind of skirt? whats your style?

Kirin Rosenbaum 05-14-2013 08:57 PM

Could something like this be made with patterened fabric or would that not look good?

yeah.. but those are dresses... not skirts....and what you could do is have a pattern under a shear chiffon.

dresses are way harder then skirts. you have to shape the top part or it wont fit. im not so good at that...

i could just make the skrit part though and you could wear it with a tank that fits you. that would be easy enough. or you could sew the skirt to a tank that you like, that would also be easier.

Kirin Rosenbaum 05-14-2013 09:03 PM

Could you pull a skirt off like that with out the top part?

bloodstainedwings 05-14-2013 09:23 PM

its just a tank top. i cant see why it wouldnt work. i typed in high low skirt in google and come up with a bunch of similar results.

problem is, they are not winter skirts. you'll freeze in that skirt. those are summer dresses my dear. winter skirts are more like...

made from tweed or heavy cotton, or velvet or heavy silks... chiffon is a summer fabric like linen and light cotton.

I wore my little black dress for Christmas Eve. I don't freeze easily. My body runs hot.

What about this? I was thinking that I could get a couple different patterns of fabric.

bloodstainedwings 05-14-2013 09:36 PM

yeah i could do that for sure.

as we are on that route i could do something like this:

or even this!

Kirin Rosenbaum 05-15-2013 01:26 AM

Oh I like that first one. How much fabric, how many different types?

bloodstainedwings 05-15-2013 08:55 AM

well how much fabric depends on your size. and how long you want it to be. and i would say 4 different fabrics would do it. ... depending on how big you are... a meter of each would more then likely do... you might get away with half a meter each... i wouldnt want to go much less then that...

Kirin Rosenbaum 05-15-2013 07:25 PM

and what is a meter in american? Is that a yard? So do you have the image I want saved or should I save it?

bloodstainedwings 05-15-2013 08:03 PM

you should save it. and a meter is about a yard. a yard is a bit bigger then a meter. sorry... canadian...

and did you want the draw string closure or elastic or a combination or would you rather a zipper? the first options allow for more flexibility with fit.

Kirin Rosenbaum 05-15-2013 08:12 PM

elastic ploease.

bloodstainedwings 05-15-2013 08:37 PM

ok! what i am going to do, because it looks nicer is do a double elastic. sounds strange, but looks way better then one big fat elastic. trust me. and then i will have a small pretty much fake elastic at the front for prettification.

so the only thing we need to figure out now is the pattern, fabric and sizing. the pattern i can figure out once we have the sizing. which if you are uncomfortable posting, you can send to me in a private message. i totally understand. not everyone is comfortable with their own measurements.

also, please be true with them. if you give me a measurement that is wrong, the skirt will not fit. aka, dont suck in and then measure, the skirt will be too tight, or measure now when you plan on being much smaller shortly. true measurements are the secret to fit.

Kirin Rosenbaum 05-16-2013 12:06 AM

As I said it's going to be awhile. I'm going to get down to my goal weight of one hundred and eighty and then have you make me it. And I'll have them help me with the measurements at my gym.

bloodstainedwings 05-16-2013 12:15 AM

sounds awesome! i know you can do it! you just have to keep at it!

Kirin Rosenbaum 05-16-2013 01:59 PM

I am getting there. Slowly but surely.

bloodstainedwings 05-16-2013 08:47 PM

thats the best way though.

so how is your week so far?

Also making things. Working on one of my outfits for Anime Boston, to be precise. Hopefully I'll have everything together come next weekend.

Kirin Rosenbaum 05-17-2013 12:59 AM

I have the prospect of a job in a day care. I am starting respite. Going back to school.
