I am thinking that you can have the contest spread out.
Is it not likely that the first episode/page of comic is going to introduce ALL characters.
If characters slowly introduced into the comic, then you can have several contests throughout.

The deadline right now is July 15th, BSW, but I'm kinda digging your idea, Xu-- especially with the Avatar Chat character.

There are certain comics/manga that I NOTICE they just keep wearing the same clothes over and over and over again. D:
Not the school uniform. But many of the fantasy adventure type... lol, they tend to wear the same rag. Are the adventurer really that poor to only have one suit of fabric? (I am not talking about their armour. )
Even in normal world setting, the characters just seemed to always wear the same clothes.

The first anime/manga of my 'limited' experience that awe me with characters change clothes everyday is Cardcaptor Sakura. Hey, Tomoyo design different fighting suit for Sakura EVERYTIME! Not the standard SailorScout, whatever-man boringness...

My stand is... unless the character has high tolerance of dirtiness, majority of character change clothes.

you make a very good point. although some of those personalities are harder to do then others.

For the designs I've made, I thought of the outfits as a visual representation of the character rather than a strict wardrobe for the whole comic. Making an outfit gives you an idea of what kind of stuff that character wears, and then you can experiment from there. [yes]

I experiment with what little I have. I've liked a lot of your avatar outfits, Xu. If you have free time you should definitely give it a try at least. :3

The reason why people tend to stick characters into a 'uniform' outfit that they don't change-- or change very seldom-- is to keep their characters easily recognizable. The set hair styles we have for these characters will be recognizable if this were going to be a constantly updating comic, but I was thinking about something more episodic. I don't believe I'd be comfortable changing their outfits just yet (though I do also appreciate when artists do that).

it wasnt a challenge or a threat. it was just a suggestion. i love mene and would love to support it more. but i give what i can when i can, and thats about it. i understand that you cant right now in yourlife. it makes sense to me and i didnt mean to come across as pushy or anything. im sorry if you felt that way Xu. [oops]

and i agree with mythos. although, changing the outfit and keeping the same colours can help to maintain visual cues for recognition.

BSWW, I know you don't mean it as a threat. I am talking about Menewsha's 'tactic' of making DAC a donator privilege, THAT seems to me is a 'threat'. Not you. *pets*

Is that the reason why? I thought having the same hairstyle is recognizable enough. Uniform is use because, lol, maybe most of the story I read, they are in school setting, so make sense. How about when they occasionally have 'out of school' scene? You wear uniform to go shopping? to go weekend onsen trip? Come on, I understand if it is after school... but weekend? purposely wear uniform to go for fun?

Besides, if the reason is recognizable... Uniform are always the same in the same school with several other characters. How that recognizable works in that context?
Or do you mean recognizable as in... looking at the uniform, readers know... OH! That is from comic name 'Menewsha high'?

However, do what you think suitable for your comic. It is yours, I don't know what you have already planned to make any... suggestion yet. I will continue to poke when more is out.

On another topic, I have limited wardrobe. only female stuff. So I don't think I can do entries for the male ones, which unfortunately is the forum that I am interested in, unless they crossdress. DX
