Do you prefer... An answer and avi share thread!

Do you prefer making avatars that somehow represent you; your personality, your lifestyle, your likes. Or do you prefer making awesome avatars based on a cause, themes or characters you love?

Share your current and favorite/best avatars with us, and explain why you made it; if it was representing a mood, style, cause, character, etc.

I'll start!

I don't really have a preference per say. It usually depends on my mood. Sometimes I do a cosplay, which is always fun, sometimes I make an avatar based on my mood or how I view myself, and sometimes I just get bored and start piecing things together that I like.

This was one of my favorite avatars for a number of reasons. When I made her, I was feeling cheery and bubbly and whenever I go back to using her I tend to welcome the noobs with smiles and exclamations and hugs. [lol] Red is my favorite color and I have the worst kind of sweet tooth. So the whole thing just really worked for me in a lot of ways.

This is clearly one of my cosplays, since I'm not a guy and this in no way represents me, lol. Can anyone guess who he is? XD

i make my avatars based on my creativity and feelings. I treat making an avatar like a craft or art and i always strive for beautiful avatars with interesting characters and notes.

Me too. I'm working on my second cosplay, but it's kinda at a standstill [stare]

I think cosplays are my favorite. When you find that perfect item and know you can bring the whole thing together, and then when people guess it and you're like /WINNING! [lol] I need to make a list of cosplays I want to do. I thought I had one around here somewhere.... Hmmmm....

I think your current avatar is just beautiful!

My own personal style is probably just about balance despite an obvious knack for cluttering up an avatar. Namely I like to balance colour and still keep the avatar aesthetically appeasing. Whenever I've tried to stick to a theme I have a bit more difficulty, which is one of the reasons why I really envy avatar cosplayers. I might make a cosplay, but then have this desire to keep accessorizing and adding to it almost to the point where it's no longer a cosplay.

If Menewsha had a few different items, I would really adore making a sort of standard character and just dressing it up.
Occasionally I've made an avatar of myself, but I think it's a little silly sometimes.
