I've been working on this avi for a few days and I just can't seem to get the headgear in a way that I really like. Therefore, I'm turning to you for help. Any suggestions for the head?

I'd suggest to first take off the wings.
They don't fit your avvie at all since it doesn't match anything else.
If you really want to keep them, think about adding some more of that light blue.

For the head, I'd say the blue flower hairpins, superstar headphones, Ayumis white hat, and the yummeh ears and tail.

Like appli said, take off the wings.
Even if you really like them, the blue doesn't match with any part of the avi.
Maybe put on some earrings just for a nice touch?
Other than that, I see it matched well.

B-but... I like the wings with it, even if they don't match. xD

I really like the hat and hairpins.
As for earrings... er, the best I can find is silver. Heh.
