I've been working my butt off for days (even stayed up a whole night playing tetris) to get this to the point it's at now. I just wanted to get the basics of my outfit done. The pieces I would refuse to change, and would do my best to love. And now that I'm done with those, I want to know what's next?

I'm going for a 'grimey post-apocolyptic brainy mechanic' look. What I have in mind is a little specific, but hopefully just by looking at what I have you can get the basic idea of what I want. I'm looking for a few accessories (or a lot) and a little splash of color (preferably in the copper/gold tones so as to blend fairly well and match the glasses). The problem is that no matter how much I look, I feel like it's not good enough. I would test it all in the avatar maker, but it doesn't have the shirt I'm wearing in its programming. D:

So what do you think would help complete the look?

Have you considered the Steampunk Headgear Contribution Item?

Actually, I have. It's just that they seem so...I don't know. Clunky and excessive. I'm trying to go for a look of someone who has their noses in books all the time, and gas masks and golden wings at the side of one's head does little to achieve that image.

Sorry I'm being so difficult. x.o

I think the helmet from the Steampunk Headgear set would actually look nice on your avatar, since it's got the dark brown in it. :D

There are probably other items out there to help you achieve what you're going for, if you don't like the Steampunk Headgear. XD I just can't think of anything right at this moment.

Hmm... you could try the following?

Brown Baker Boy Cap
Brown Cadet Cap (or the light brown one and camoflauge one?)
Riveted Brown Top Hat
Gold Pocketwatch

And... other things. xDDD;;

I'm going to look into some of the suggestions you guys gave me. (where can I find those steampunk headgear items, by the way? >> I can't seem to find them.)

I'm thinking of getting a pair of those long dragon gloves in green to replace these brown ones, but do you think that would be an excessive amount of green? I'm trying to keep brown the primary color, with green as a secondary and the tiniest bit of gold for taste. (mostly just my glasses)

The Steampunk Headgear is a CI. :3 It's only sold by users in the Exchange, so you should scout the threads there if you wanna purchase it~ =)

And hmm... the gloves would actually add a lot of green, I think? =O You could possibly minimize the green from it though by getting really small gold bracelets. ^^

So I got the gloves with a couple gold bracelets like Rylynne suggested. (What do you think?)

what do you think of me getting
-a Gold Doubled Belt
-and a Brown Baker Boy Cap? I think the belt will get me the splash of color I need but not push it too far. Do you think that would be a wrong choice? Do you have any better ideas for the accesories I should invest in?

I like the gloves and bracelets~ :3 <3<3

And hmm... the belt might add too much gold on the waist area, I think, because it's too big. =O But, if you really wanna try it out, I can always lend you both items (I have both :3) if you'd like to check? ^^

Sure!

>> that would be better than my "buy and then sell back" tactic I've been using so far.

It's just lending, of course. Dx I'd feel bad if I kept them.

No problem~ :'D <3<3
Just sent them to you, btw. ^^

Also, instead of the buy-and-sell tactic you've been doing, you're more than free to request for how items would look like and for "samples" in this subforum. :3

I'm actually surprised. I thought the belt would be the issue and the hat would be my bff, but it appears to be the opposite. I actually really like what the belt does for the look, but I feel like the hat is just...off, I guess?

What do you think?

Hmm, the hat does seem off with your bangs, now that you mention it. xDD;;
The belt is still too gold for me, but I do like the shape it gives~ :3

I suggest you keep it on for now and ask other people's opinions though~ =P

I'll send you the hat back now, and I'll keep the belt on to ask for a couple opinions. x3
I do see what you mean about it seeming too gold, but there's not really much better I could do. That's the problem.
x.o

Anybody have any ideas?
