Uhgggggggg. So I got lay down to take a nap, and a friend calls me and asks to hangout, and so I get up, get dressed, get ready.
And then she calls me back and says "nevermind!"
And now I'll never get comfy back in the bed. :/
I've been up since 10am, and went to sleep at 7am. I am craaaaaaaanky. I haven't had caffeine for like 3 days. :( Plus I have to deal with sad boyfriend cos his snake died. /end rant

The bf and I went through a lot of money troubles lately, and getting to the pet shop is a bitch, and they only sell frozen mice, and it's an hour to two hour trek home, even on the bus...with frozen mice...you know?

I kept telling him to try and find someone to give him a ride to the pet store, and kept trying to get him to save money for it. But...:( I guess I didn't try hard enough. Ifeelsobad. Soooo bad.

Yeah, I know. He's not a bad person, he just has had trouble lately.
It's not like he meant for the snake to die. He sounded like he was going to cry when he was leaving for work this morning, I just wanted to pull him back into bed and hold him. :(
But I'm pretty sure he's had the snake for a few years now. He's had Deimos since before I met him, at least.

I feel like my negative energy somehow cause it though, just last night I was thinking that if both me and the snake died, he'd probably miss the snake more. :C (I've been a bit down lately, and my mind wanders to depressing places late at night.)
So...Yeah, I feel terrible, TERRIBLE...Even though it's not my fault, really.

monstahh' - my boyfriend was babysitting - er? snakesitting? two snakes and one just stopped eating all together and when you stop eating... well - yah. So, sometimes things happen you know? He had to give the snakes back - and only one made it home.

That sucks, sometimes animals will stop eating if you take them away from the person they've gotten attached to, I've never heard of a reptile do it, but mammals, especially cats (mainly I've heard stories about Manxs...which makes me worried, because I want a manx, badly) and dogs, do it.

@Steel - Yeah. :( When he gets home I'm going to ask if there's anything he wants to do for the snake to say goodbye, or something. I just. :c I'm really sad.

Blargh, okay. I'm going for a walk or I'm going to start crying or some crap over an animal I've never even touched (he was a finicky snake, even Andy couldn't hold him most of the time because he'd snap at him).

It sounds like your boyfriend wasn't prepared to be responsible for something as difficult as a snake. Sorry if I'm a little judgmental of him. I take it personally since my snake is kind of like my son.
Perhaps things will get a little better for you guys now that he has one less stressor. :hugs: It will be okay, I promise.

He was, but, he didn't have a job for a while, but a friend was helping him out, and then he got a job, and the friend stopped helping him buy mice for the snake.
And then as soon as he got a job, our roommate basically started trying to charge him "back rent" even though our roommate had said he could live here rent-free until he got a job. So he didn't have the money to take care of the snake, until literally a few days ago, and we were going to get stuff for the snake this week.

It's basically, "A day late, a buck short." Cos we finally got shit together, but it's too late.

I KNOW THAT FEELING, MONSTAHH. MY FISH DIED ONCE 'CAUSE THE LIGHT DIED AND I COULDN'T AFFORD A NEW LIGHT, AND IT WAS TOO COLD... AND THEN I GOT SOME MONEY FOR A BULB, WAS GOING TO WALK TO BUY IT THE NEXT DAY, AND I WOKE UP, AND ALL THE FISH WERE DEAD IN THE MORNING. :gonk:

That sucks. And unfortunately you can't feed snakes people food (although they can eat uncooked eggs if the eggs are small enough for them to swallow).

We only have a very very very small very shitty fridge, so even getting a small bag of mice means most of them will go to waste. :sweat: There is no room for eggs, I just wish we'd known someone else with a snake (we know like a dozen people with lizards, dogs and cats...no snakes).

@Precarious - That sucks. :( I used to have pet fish. My they all were like 2 or 3 years old, and they kindof mass died all within a few weeks of each other (they'd all hit their life expectancy and exceeded it, and then I guess seeing their friends die made them give up).

Heh. Too bad you couldn't convince any of your lizard owning friends to feed their lizard to the snake. :P
