I think part of the reason is they grew up and out of avatar sites--well, that's the reason most of my friends have left over time. It's not that they're not good, they just would rather do other things.

And then there is schooling and jobs. That is the reason why I have disappearing weeks or months at a time. :/
And eventually that will lead to growing out of them if it persists. That is slowly what is happening to me. And I love Mene.

Yeah, and I think Blondheart left because she had kids to take care of and a husband to take care of too--I miss her!

But I am determined to stay on here, even if I only show up every now and then. I want to see Menewsha succeed.

I kinda got away for about 2 years myself. It's amazing how much you can miss and how quickly it goes by. I would check in here and there but I really didn't post then. I really missed it so I came back. =P Now I try to at least get on daily and post a little just to stay in contact. With all the updates it had become very appealing to come back! *nods*

I tend to get really addicted to things like menewsha--so even if I have other things to do, a lot of the time they'll get neglected because of my addiction. XDD;;; It's sad, but it's something I'm working on. I've gotten better about it lately too--I can now put the computer down and go do other things (LIKE CLEAN!!!). But I think I'll always end up coming back to it. I'm kindof lonely irl.

I'm asking around with my friends if they'd like mene more this way--but most of them don't want to come back or even try mene because of mene's image.

monstahh` - I wish I could find some of the older users I used to talk to. They seemed to have disappeared too. =O I don't have any friends in real life that would go on avatar sites. I mostly have males friends. xD Not that I have many of those either but the few girls aren't really computer minded. =P I know what you mean though, I get really lonely at work since I am the youngest one (by like a 40 year gap ) so I don't really have anything in common with anyone else and the manager is a totally jerk so I usually gravitate here when I am not busy. People are nicer here then in person and I feel like we are all in the same boat. Looking for people to talk to.
You said about friends not interested because of mene's image, what do you mean? Avatar sites in general or just mene. I know my friends would just look at it as dress up but that's really not what this site is all about. =P

Uh, well if you search online for "menewsha reviews" things like this or this pop up.

A lot of my friends go to sites like Ernya or Gaia still, but won't touch mene.

And yeah, a lot of older users are gone. :C

wow...o.O That makes mene sound more like 4chan and not like the wonderful place I love. =P I hate when people make a decision based on just one or two bad reviews. And really, come on, they are cool with Gaia but find mene bad? o.O I am not trying to come down on gaia but wow, I think that's like comparing the friendliness of a big city to a small town. xD

A couple bad reviews I'd agree with you, but when one review talks about the owner of the site harassing someone...it gets a little more important.

I don't know who posted that second review (or if it's true), but, I do know that Inso did at one point post personal information of a couple users who had broken rules (but this was over a year ago, maybe over two years, but I don't know if he'd do it again after the shit-storm that came from it), and Mene's definition of trolling is a little too lax for my tastes.
I don't think it's a big deal anymore, so long as it doesn't happen again. If it happens again, I'm probably going to leave too for fear of my personal information. But, I doubt it will because I know many other users share my feelings on that, and alienating your userbase when you're already a small site is not usually the best idea. D:

I am willing to tough it out though until then, and give people the benefit of the doubt--but many people I know are not so forgiving. And it's sad, but I do understand. ^___^;;

The thing with Gaia is a lot of them know if someone is harassing them, they can hit a report button and block them and that user then has NO WAY to contact them bar creating a new account--and then they can just hit block and report them all over again. They don't feel like they'd be protected on mene. Even I don't, to be honest. If I could change anything on all of menewsha? I would add in a more comprehensive ignore system. Don't like someone? Block them and never have to see them again. Problem solved.
But that's my biggest complaint at this point.
I love all the latest changes though, and I do wish my friends would give it a shot. But, I'm not going to force them because I understand and respect their reasoning. :sweat:

I've spent a lot of time weighing the pros and cons of being here, and spent a few months barely on mene at all, and came to decide "3 strikes and you're out."
I love this site too much, and I want to see it succeed.

*butts into conversation* Yo, I knew Insomniac could be the devil when dealing with a suposed wrongdoer, but "blackmail, harassment, abuse, rape, name calling, and identity theft" is kinda farther than I expected? @.@

monstahh` - I never really thought about that, an ignore system could be helpful to some. I guess I never considered it because I have never needed to ignore someone here before. xD I am mean sure, I would rather people not send me random friend invites before we have ever met...xD But I have never wanted to block any contact with them before. Not to say that, that will never happen but if it's something that you feel you would use, maybe you should suggest it in with the feedback tab and than people would have the change to vote on it? I think the feedback tab has been awesome in actually getting people to make suggestions without hesitation. And many of the suggestions have already been added. I think it's great that members can be honest and actually get things they feel will better the site. I know a lot of times I have suggestions but I don't want to make a thread or even if I do, than people don't always jump in and give their opinion. Voting is super easy and it lets the owner know what we really want to see. <3 I have been checking the feedback thing daily to see if there is any ideas I want to vote on. xD

But, my experience says that doesn't work. I'd much rather just block them and never have to think about them again. There are too many jerks in this world to worry about every single one.

I understand what you mean. It's like when I complain about my job and people are like, did you try just talking to them about it? and I just do a *blank stare* xD Sometimes I am too tired to fight especially if I don't think it will get me anywhere. I guess what gives me faith in the new voting system is that one of the top suggestions was that the feedback thingy moving around was annoying. xD and so they made it stationary so that worked out pretty good. =P I like it now that it stays in the same spot. xD I do know where you are coming from though and you are right, that could very well be the response you will get. I guess I am just feeling optimistic today which is very rare for me since I am rather critical so I am going with it. xD

I think at one point we could block someone...I forgot how though... :/

Edit: Well I can't find it...but for some reason it is in my head we did have it a while back
