I wouldn't purchase a MAC if my life depended on it. Sure, PCs have problems, but I feel you actually have more freedom with them.

I was on Macs for a really long time when I was younger, and then for some reason we switched to PCs. I got used to them after a while, and then had to use them for years. And it didn't help that when I switched schools, they used Dells instead of Macs because they were cheaper. And then last summer I finally got my Mac back, and it made me super happy. Now, I struggle with PCs if I have to use them haha.

To Mac lovers- TOTALLY not in my alloted price range. I can only go up to 750 without tax. xD

@Winter: I know a lot of people dislike Dells, but mine is really nice. They also have really good deals for students right before the school starts.

And if you have to within a certain price range, you can design your own laptop on their website. This allow you to decide which specifications are worth paying a higher price for and which extra features are too pricey to be worth it.

That being said, $750 might be a little low for a laptop. I got mine for less than $1,000, but I feel like the one that I have has the bare minimum (for a laptop that will work well for a long time). I'm sure you can get a laptop within your price range, but it's really important not to sacrifice semi-essential features because then your laptop won't last you for as long. Is there any way that you can get a summer job or something to get another $250 dollars?

You really don't want to sacrifice something like extra memory if you can get more for another hundred or so dollars...

You can totally get an awesome computer for $750. :yes:

I personally have a Mac, which you cannot get for $750, but there are plenty of awesome PCs out there that are totally affordable and have high performance.

The one I recommended to Winter had a 17" screen, 400 GB harddrive, 4 GB of RAM and a 2.1 GHz processor. That's a damn good deal for about $750. O_O
