Ohhh, well then, the soda, while still bad for you because it's full of nasty chemicals, shouldn't be the biggest issue? What do you eat? Can you give me a rundown of your average day of food consumption?

Shit, I need to go to bed -- gotta work in the morning. But I can help you out with more advice and stuff if you want.

I pretty much put myself on a diabetic (relatively low-carb) diet and had a lot of success with it.

I strongly suggest not drinking diet soda. :/ Aspartame is a bitch. Weight wise, healthier, but ugh, i hate that stuff. I rather drink the actual product. And they put it in most gum now too. I will stick to my altoid mints. xD
What I do is allow myself one soda of my choice a day, orange juice with most meals (because my blood sugar has been REALLY wacky lately, and my doctors are ignoring it >.>), and the rest water.
And I have started to not eat anything after 8 PM. I will push that back to 6 PM after I adjust my reverse sleeping schedule. xD

Switching the type of bread you consume helps to. white bread is kind of bad for your, but there are healthier choices that taste good. I like wheat bread, and rye bread, as long as it does not have seeds. :/ I have issues with texture.

Getting the right amount of sleep helps too.

And one of the best times to walk is right before breakfast.
Sadly, I haven't had a chance to do this in a while because of college schedule and my backwards days.

Yeah, soda should never be a multiple-a-day drink.
And watch the salt.

Or, eat what you want, but get some movement in there!

Good luck, Pietro.

*forces her way into the convo* XD

I've pretty much given up drinking soda, unless I'm out with friends and don't have much of a choice. I always carry a bottle of water with me anyway, so that doesn't happen too often.

I've also limited juice to an occasional treat after discovering how much sugar is in them, though fruit juice is still better than soda either way. I eat plenty of fruit already. XD

I doubt this works for everyone, but I started eating a lot better after gaining an interest in nutrition and diet. So if you can, pick up a health/nutrition magazine and see if it piques your interest. :) Good luck!

I've lost like. 20lbs since I got to college simply because I move around more.
I mean. I'm only on mene for long periods of time on the weekends or late at night.
o__o
I pop in between classes and running around with matt sometimes too, but I spend most of my time running around campus with friends.

..I also still drink a TON of soda. At least 2 cans a day.

Also, I refuse to drink diet soda.
no cancer for me thank you.

XP I have a sandwich and veggies for lunch every day. Can't get much easier than that. I used to eat junk for lunch every day, but not anymore. Oh, diets...

I don't eat breakfast until 10 a.m. though usually. I don't like eating right after waking up. Plus, making breakfast at work gives me a reason to get away from my desk.

I like apples too. I ate one about an hour ago, with a little peanut butter. YUM!
Yeah, lunch doesn't tend to take too long to fix up. Especially if its just something simple. :3 Although, my doctor but me on a no lactose diet to test to see if I had an odd (not the usual lactose-intolerance) food allergy to lactose, but I didn't change at all over the 2 week diet, and i've been loving on my fatty goodness of dairy products since. :drool: But during that time period, I could hardly eat. Almost everything has dairy in it, and I was getting sick of fruits and veggies @__@;;

I dont eat breakfast either. I always feel sick every morning, and can't eat until a few hours after I have been awake.

Oooh. Yummy! I like apples and ranch. And bananas and peanut butter.

In high school, I was really active -- on swim team, a synchro team and in taekwondo, and was in great shape. I went to college, drank beer and soda and ate cheeseburgers and burritos for four years and truly damaged myself. I didn't realize it at the time, but I was getting into bad habits. Then when I moved in with my bf, we ate bad food all the time because he's such a picky eater that cooking for him became a chore, and his favorite foods are all rich, fatty stuff. And desert every night? Man, no good.

I have a lot of style too in RL, but I was sad I couldn't fit into cool clothes. Now that I can again, I'm shopping like crazy. It's fun again. :D

Anyways, diet and exercise are important. You should try to get into the habit of eating better and getting regular exercise. I can't stress this enough. I feel like I've learned how to make a change in my lifestyle, which is something you have to be devoted to.

I know you're still young, but just keep it in mind. I'm not always the best dieter -- I eat crap food still, but mostly on weekends. I still work out 5 days a week, so I feel like splurging here and there is okay.

Plus, my birthday is Saturday, so it's going to be a fatty weekend. Mmmmm... cakeeeee.
Wooow. Congrats! 90 pounds is a lot to lose. I'm sure you've worked hard for that, and I can definently say that I respect that. :] I dont really have as much respect for overweight people that complain about their weight, and yet dont to anything to fix it. >_>;;

This is very true. I'm a rather healthy individual, and have a fast metabolism, but I still try to keep up with such things. I dont always eat super healthy, but lately i've been giving it a try, because I need more iron in my diet (turns out that i'm anemic). But i've never really had excess fat before, because I was always a really active kid, and I still work out on and off (I haven't much in the last few months), but I have an extreeemely fast metabolism. It pisses my friends off, because they're all larger than me, and i'll eat twice as much as they do. hahaha. But even though I am in decent enough shape, I still try to work out (just yesterday started jogging each night with 2 friends. already messed up my ankle haha) Even if you dont have fat, exercise and a well balanced diet it crucial to being a healthy and happy individual. Exercise has proven to increase endorphins and make people happier. ^^

I have a workout plan that my teacher had us do in my weight training class (actual weights, not physical weight) I took a year ago, and also some stuff from the self defense class that I took. I typed it all out and explained it to a girl that asked me about it, and PM'd it to her. If you'd like, I could find the original PM and send it to you so you have an idea of different types of workouts to do. They're rather painful in the start, and its good to try to go at your own pace to slowly allow your body to adjust, and not to hurt yourself, so the measurements that I have on there could be altered for what you'd be able to do. He started us off with reps of 10-15 crunches (had to do that amount for each kind of crunch, and there are several), and by the end of the semester I was able to keep up rather easily with 30 reps per cycle. So, it really helps if you keep up with a workout and do it regularly. It trains your body, and allows it to eat away the fat, and to grow muscle. :]

Soda is proven to cause diabetes in many people. Not to mention it is terrible for your body, and it has no bonuses. If anything, drinking so many in one day, is probably making it nearly impossible for you to lose weight. Soda is a horrible thing, and I try to avoid it usually, but if I do drink any its never dark sodas (unless I steal a sip from a friend), because that just tastes like I can feel it rotting away my teeth. D: But you should really try to cut down on sodas. Obviously there is something causing you to want to keep drinking them, so you need to find something to distract your mind from wanting to constantly drink, instead of doing other things. You should try to drink less of them, and instead carry around a water bottle. As of lately, water, juice, and milk are some of the only things I will drink. They taste lovely, and they're good for you. I have a water bottle on me at all times (keep it in my backpack), and I drink it periodically throughout my classes. Its very important to drink water, anyway, because it keeps you hydrated and allows you to think better and feel better. Dehydration can cause major headaches.

@ EVERYONE - Sorry for the huuuuge post. I am a workout nut, for the most part, and have looked into this kind of stuff a bit. And took weight training and self defense, which both had a looot of exercise, and I learned a lot from the classes. :3

And even though I mentioned that i'm slim and in rather good shape, exercise can be just as hard for me as people in less shape. I have asthma, so breathing becomes rather difficult really quickly, and i'm also anemic, so that only doubles it, plus makes me more likely to get dizzy or to have a heart problem. Soo, i'm hoping that no one assumes that because I am not fat that I must be biased. Haha. (had a friend that I jog with now get a little baffled when the other friend invited me, because he assumed that jogging would be pointless for me, because I dont plan to lose weight)

Dang. I wrote so much about it, and even drew up visuals so that she could better understand it.

I'm going to PM her back and see if she kept the original, so that I can have her send it back, and then i'll send it to you. :3
