If you work at a fast food restaurant like me and you were told to clean the tables, I'm sure you would be hella pissed off as I am if the customers don't clean after themselves.
Today I had to clean the tables outside for the first time at Dairy Queen (recently hired). And you should see the crap lying around. People stuff their garbage in the holes of the tables and the drinks are spilled everywhere. What made me so annoyed is that the fact there are two garbages on each end!! Like, how harmful is it to stand up and throw out your trash? I'm not a neat freak, but I get annoyed it things get messy. ))<
So who here have the same experience? And who here does the leaving garbage on the table routine?

I dont know why people are so lazy. I hate it when people leave their trash on the tables. Come on.
People have to clean that..
I always tell my friends to throw away their shit.
I've never worked, but I can bet it's pretty annoying.

I also hate it when people dont clean up after themselves.
I dont work for any restaurant, but my dad used to when I was a kid. Because of that, he's always taught us to clean up after ourselves even if there are people who's job is to do that.
We never leave anything on out tables, unless its napkins or ketchup packets that weren't used. But even those we stack and arrange. XD

I hate it when people don't clean up after themselves and always make sure that I don't leave messes even when there are people "paid to pick up the mess". I work as a dishwasher at a nursing home and I hate it when the nurses put their trash or used gloves on my trays, especially the gloves they are supposed to be disposed of properly ><

I generally pick up after myself and if I have a leftover ice cube (chewing ice is awesome) I wipe down the table. I really hate it when other people have to pick up after me. It's my mess so I should clean it up....kind of a personal thing I guess.

Yeah, I used to be there. People assume that because you're working there you're paid to clean up after any kind of mess. To an extent it's true that you're paid to clean up normal messes, but when you've got a family with six kids who throw stuff everywhere and don't bother cleaning it up at all then it's kind of annoying.
I had a guy one time, who was clearly drunk. He came in and ate some nuggets then threw up on the table. His friend came up and asked if we had anyone who could come clean it up and wanted to know if we'd replace the nuggets his friend ate because they "didn't sit well."
I was like we're not replacing nuggets your friend threw up because he was too drunk to keep them down. Especially now when he's not willing to clean up his own vomit. Whatever.
Let's just say the Bio kit I used to clean up this guy's puke was an expensive enough.
Let's just put it this way, there are some people who are willing to pander to the idea that the customer is always right, even if he says the world is flat. Doesn't actually make the customer right.
Usually the people who have the mentality of "you work there you have to do whatever I want" have never had a job or were born into privilege and have never worked a day job. Or they're trolls.

Well put Jaina.I always clean up my mess,wipe down the table,the works.I figure people working there have enough to contend with w/o me contributing to their already stressed day.And I know its stressed,I did a "prison term" at McDonalds myself ages ago. The only time I have ever been lax on the self imposed rule is when I get really lousy service,which thankfully,hasnt been often.
I'll never understand why people leave huge messes,or let their kids get by with chit they dont allow at home.Hypocrits.I never allowed my son to behave as a slob,and to this day,he cleans up after himself when he goes anywhere.Mission accomplished. =D

Aww...i'm sorry to hear that. -_-' Working in fast food sucks butt......but maybe it will motivate younger people to go to college and get a degree and they wouldn't have to worry about dealing with stuff like this. <33

I woke as a cashier so I'm subject to all the dumb things that the public does as well. Here are a few things that I find annoying and similar to your problems:
1. People never seem to want to take their reciept. It's like... What are you going to do if you get stopped at the door and accused of stealing something? Then I'm going to have to go back through my garbage to dig it out because it's too hard for you to just take it.
2. People always ask me to throw their crap all the time. I mean... This is definitely an improvement for you having to clean up after them but it's like... There's a garbage on the way out the door... Can't they hold onto whatever it is for liek 2 seconds longer and do it themselves?
3. People never take their baskets back. The pile of baskets is also conveniently located on the way out the door. If you brought it in, why can't you put it back on your way out?
So yeah... Those are just a few things that bother me on a day to day basis. I can really see how annoying it is that people can never take care of their trash. Whenever you walk through a grocery store you can see things thrown all over the place that people didn't want to bother putting back and that get's really annoying to me as well and is quite similar to your garbage problem though I guess there usually aren't conveniently located bins for these objects to be put inside... ^^;

For one thing, it's kind of hard to complain because that's where you work and that is part of your job. On the other hand, it's a common courtesy to pick up after yourself. When I go to a restaurant I make sure to clean up as much as I can by myself. Even when I'm in a dining in restaurant I make sure to stack up my plates when I'm done so the waitress just has to pick them up on the way by. People who don't clean up at least somewhat by themselves are really just looking to make someone mad. How inconsiderate.

I'm a waitress in a restaurant that doesn't have bus boys, so I'm pretty much supposed to clean up tables. Seriously though, some people eat like pigs. I hate cleaning up after the little kids. We give them a coloring menu and crayons, and all the time, the crayons are EVERYWHERE. >_< And then they spill things, and food never makes it to their mouths without landing on the table and chairs. Blegh.
But I do get tips, so that makes things better. ^^;

I always pick up after myself. But sometimes at restaurants when I eat spaghetti or something messy, I may get a bit of sauce on the table. xD And they never give you enough napkins so I don't know what to do about it. o.o;
Other than that, it's not that hard to bring your stuff to the trash cans at fast food places. I never eat at them though, I always go through the drive-thru.

I through out all the big stuff and try to clean up the spill as best as possible, but the stickiness will stay behind.
But like if I dropped some crumbs or something, i'm not going to wipe it off, it would make me look like a loser, because obviously nobody does that ;-;

I personally get annoyed when I see other people leaving their trash.. because it's not that hard to walk to the trash can! Even at a place that you're supposed to leave your trash at the table(like this little sandwich place near where I live), I take the food basket to the back counter and throw away the excess stuff... because I think about how the employees might be busy or how someone else would want to sit at the table. I appreciate when it's clean so I do the same for others. :3

honestly, there is no reason to be pissed, you're being paid to do it. Humans are nasty, foul, disgusting creatures, so it's really no surprise that the majority of them act that way. If it's so awful, find a job not in fast food?

If one leaves trash on a table, one must leave gratuity for the person who cleans it even if you were not served. That's the rule. I've never ever left garbage at a fast food restaurant before. I'm surprised that people would do that. I'd beat my children to death if they tried something that rude.

I work at a petstore and the staff there are horribly messy. Like they're leave old animal bedding on the clean carts and leave things out and stuff like that after I reorganized everything. It's getting to the point where I don't even want too work there anymore. I'm hoping though that I'll be able to open my own store in a few months.

I used to work at subway, which is horrible.
I remember pretty much, we always had four people working during the rushes, cause three would do everything in the back, then whenever someone left the fourth would run out and clean up.
I swear people don't know how to NOT get lettuce on the floor or on the table. What I hated most was when they would ask for packets of something then just leave it on the table, or spill it all over the table. It drove me crazy. I mean we give them napkins for a reason, to use them. Not just throw them away. Do you know how many people I saw just throw the napkins away. -.-

Speaking of gross messes that need a bio kit, in the grocery store I work in, I saw, with my own two eyes, a young girl begging to go to the bathroom, BEGGING. She was wailing at the top of her lungs in hysterics. her mother would not leave the line to let this little girl go to the potty. What happened you ask? Ohh yeah, the little girl crying, peed all over herself and the floor. Did this stellar example of motherhood clean up the mess? No, she screamed at the girl and paid her bill then left. I wanted to cry with that girl, I even offered to take her to the bathroom. I am sure that poor little girl is going to have some serious problems.
