Junk E-Mails
 

I am just curious as to the title of this thread. I look at all these junk e-mails I am flooded with daily full of advertisments, subscription requests, inappropriate materials. What I do when I get these flooding of crap daily is it's either configured automatically to go into your Spam/Junk Mail folder for you to simply delete all of them at once or it gets deleted for u after a certain amount of time if u simply ignore them. At times it would slip by and actually end up with your non-junk mail.

How do you feel about getting junk mail all the time?
How do you handle your emails?
How do you feel about getting unwanted mail daily?
Suggestions or comments?

I really don't mind it. I guess it's just because i've always gotten those e-mails. I don't remember a time when I didn't so it doesn't really matter to me. I just delete everything i don't want and i'm over it.

Most of the time the spam goes to my junk folder. I usually only get 20 spam emails in a week, but it all depends. XP

It's actually illegal now to send spam emails, but they still do it. :< *sues the internets*

Depending on the program you use you may be able to block them. I use outlook so I flag them but then the same ones get sent from another address. Maybe one day it will get so bad there will be a national do not contact list or you could try to opt out of getting them by clicking on their opt out links, but I think that's a waste of time. There really is nothing effective to stop them.

Reading this made me think of snail mail.

E-mail is just like regular mail, some junk comes along with the service. It doesn't really bother me, most of it goes straight to my junk folder so I don't see it. I've been pretty lucky lately not much has slipped through.

I find them more annoying than anything and always make sure I clear my junk mail so I don't have to worry about it.

I only get one or two spam e-mails a day, sometimes none. And they're usually "YOU WON THE LOTTERY" type things or stuff written in Chinese symbols. o_O

Two things allegedly help if you don't want to get spam. A friend of mine has an address with four underscores in a row and according to him, he never got any spam in the years he's had that address (I have no clue why, but it works). If you don't want to make a new address, take your e-mail address off of any sites where it may be seen publicly, like forums or contact things, OR replace the @ with "at". There are people who make money by letting a special searching programme go through the internet looking for "@", they compile all the e-mail addresses they find, and they sell these addresses to spammers. So taking the @ out of your address makes it harder for them to find you.

It probably depends on person to person, how they feel about junk emails and how they threat them, I noticed. I've read a lot of articles about how much trouble they are but I've been on the net for years and it doesn't bother me that much.

Especially when net mail servers started implementing counter-spam measures as part of their service, it's more convenient and I need not worry. And I don't know, lately, I don't get as much junk as I used to. Wonder why.

I have several e-mail addresses. One for site registration that gets a mild ammount of spam. One for friends and family to use when contacting me that gets no spam at all and another I use for signing up for freebies that gets more spam than I thought was possible. I didn't check it for 3 weeks and had nearly 2000 spam mails on it xDD
I don't bother doing anything with my spammy e-mail address, as that's what it's there for. Occassionally I'll briefly glance at all of it and wonder why on earth anyone would want that much viagra o_o The site registration one, I tend to clear out the spam once a week or so, as I like to keep it tidy so I can find what I'm looking for easily.

I don't hand my e-mail out -.-;; if a site seems shady, I use a alternate e-mail.

I actually don't get much junk e-mail, well it's probably because I barely check it xDD

I have one email address that gets so much spam that it takes longer for me to delete the messages than it does just to send one. I hate it so I don't ever use that email address. I might get bored and decide to clean out the box once in a while but other than that...

I just don't understand how people believe that through their spam marketing they can get good sales leads.

I have yahoo and I get so much spam. Most of it goes to my spam folder which I can empty without going through, but some of it gets in my inbox and it's really annoying.

As for email, I don't really check it all that often. Maybe once every other week. I just keep forgetting. XD

I am very cautious as to who i give my email to online as they usually with pass it to 3rd partiers and we end up getting our emails flooded with unwanted ads. No one is immune to junk e-mails unfortunately. I check my emails and simply delete them as fast as I open them. But most of the time I simply delet them without opening to see what it is.

I just delete them so whatever.....90% of my emails go straight to the trash.

Tricking scammers is very funny indeed!...I was going to do it myself and then got busy with other things and dropped it.
Judos to anyone who follows through and makes scammers lose time and money.
