I have a couple co-workers with odd names.
Srinivas (guy)
Ramana (girl)
Doncheree (girl)
Umeeka (girl)
Arturo (guy)
Calvert (guy)
Zuri (girl)
I have a lot of weird named co-workers but for most part they're all cool people.
Oh and one of my old managers his name was Olivier it was pronounced Oliv e aye
French guy, he was awesome but he went to Canada and became a manager at a movie theater there. =/

Aranel 09-26-2008 04:52 AM

I have a friend called Jamaica. It's not really weird, but when she first came to the school and she said her name, I was like "You're from Jamaica?" I was so embarrassed when I realized it was her name.
x3

I also knew a girl called Thyme. But we all called her Rosie, no idea why...
O.o

Skye isn't a really uncommon name, so I guess I'm common then.
T-T

Meruasieko 09-27-2008 12:59 AM

Heavenly is a weird name.

That's my best friends name. xD I know a girl named Phoenix, too!

LilyofNothing 09-27-2008 02:19 AM

I LUFF the name Eustace. I want to name my first son that, but my boyfriend would never agree. I picked out the names Alisa and Kyraleigh for girls. =3
Ummm.... I have a friend whose name is Tasneema, but I call her Taz. =D

GummyBear 09-28-2008 05:19 PM

my name is kylie i guess its kinda weird but not that much

Willow_Moon 09-28-2008 07:43 PM

I don't have a particularly odd name. Yet people deem Willow as being rather strange!
:3

Kerrieberrie 09-28-2008 08:41 PM

Kerrie isn't a weird name, but I've never met anyone who spelled it that way!

I've known an Emerald, Precious, Jocelyn, Chisum, Beatrice...

Phas 09-28-2008 08:46 PM

I had a friend acouple years ago and her name was Zueline. I know have a friend named Sno and her middle name is Winter. No a nick name, but she also wasnt named after the season.

Alpharlie 09-29-2008 12:30 PM

I have a friend called Sybilla, Syb for short-(she prides herself on knowing that 'syb' appears in one of the Matrix movie posters.) & i've always found the name 'Monique' a bit unusual. <:3

Linally 09-29-2008 02:36 PM

I dunno if this has been pointed out before, but there's kids that their parents wanted money from a company so they name them after it. Or their website. o.o Or something just riddiculous.

My girlfriend (that I just started to go out with yay~) her name is Audrianna. But we call her Aud.

And her last name just makes it funnier because it's an object. xD So it's like: "Odd *object*"

Winter Storm 09-29-2008 06:02 PM

I know this one person named Mukti[who iz kindof a bitchh].
And another person named Japa...who happens to be her brother. :ppp

SwEeTcRoWn09 09-29-2008 07:10 PM

xIrisxIrisx 09-29-2008 11:07 PM

I don't know any weird names. :( I wish I had a weird name. My names Kathy, and I know like 20 people who's name is Kathy. And in like every other TV show there's someone who's name is Kathy. Like barney.

Ash_Kitten 09-29-2008 11:13 PM

my names not too weird then my 2 sisters are a bit unusual, Annika and Masha though Masha is a normal name in Russia where she was born and she goes by Maria anyways.
then I have a friend who is Kalinda which is pretty unusual and her brother is Kenai, my old roommate was Shari yeah I'm in oregon lots of weird hippie parents named kids lol

Cinnamonbun08 09-30-2008 11:47 PM

Well, my name's kinda weird, but I've come to like it over the years. :) It's Aga. Aga was taken from a popular Filipino actor/singer in the Philippines way back in the day.

I've also come to know other people with interesting names. Like:
Yytelivie. (Yee-teh-lee-vee)
Desire. (Des-eh-ray)
Malika. (Mah-lee-kah).
Shenolla. Yeah, awesome.

littoJen 10-01-2008 01:42 PM

my cousin's Chinese name means meat of pig tail haha =3

Iltu 10-08-2008 12:05 AM

I actually don't know that many people with weird names... D: I know an Ursula and a Putiti, and that's about it.

My kids are going to have odd names, though, if I ever have any. Tadeusz, Atticus, Montressor, Lysander, Montague, Montage, Tybalt, or Sirius are my choice boy names. I want to name a girl Sabriel, Ellimere, Madala, Belladonna, Larka, or Scout.

Lathrine 10-08-2008 12:06 AM

I have a friend who's name is Rupesh... but I think that's just a kick-ass sweet name instead of weird. :3

I'll some times go by the nick-names of "Lathrine" or "Orion," but the only 'weird' nickname I have is "Edo"... and that's only because I'm a girl. XD

Mikhail 10-08-2008 01:44 PM

I've never thought of my real name {Mikhail} as odd, but rather unique. I'm fond of it.
And why not use my real name as a username? As I said, it's unique. It's a Slavic form of Michael.

Ahnemesis 10-08-2008 02:41 PM

Hoobigant

I don't know what it means but it always makes me giggle.

__Suha 10-08-2008 04:03 PM

Mine's Ilia. Not really weird, just uncommon?

Sphynxee 10-09-2008 06:13 PM

Only thing I could think of is Parastoo. She's someone I know from elementary school. Wow that was long ago. Or there was another...gosh how do you spell it again. I think it was Qija if I can remember. Pronounced Kya. She was an interesting person and the nicest you'd ever meet.

Abenii 10-14-2008 11:15 PM

Santina~
I don't think my name is that weird, but of course, that's just my opinion.. It's just that, I've met like, one other Santina that I remember [I'm pretty sure she spelled it differently too.. x3]

CeiEllem 10-16-2008 02:53 AM

As a fantasy writer, I often create weird names. I think one of my favorites has to be Alanar, both the name and the character it was applied to. In the real world, I've known a few people with strange names that weren't strange on their own, but in context...

For example:
  • Mary Jane (she was born on April 20th; 4/20 = a day to smoke marijuana, aka Mary Jane)
  • Dawn Day
  • Dr. Pepper (father of a friend of mine)

ARGY 10-16-2008 11:52 PM

I know this guy who lives near me and named his son Wert. And one of my mum's friends was watching Seinfeld and saw the episode where George hated the fact that names for people weren't original and this person that he knew was going to name their child with a common name and George said use the names Soda or Seven. After objecting to those names they end up using one of the names and George gets annoyed. After that episode Mum's friend ended up calling her daughters Soda and Seven.
