I just smacked my left funny bone on the handle of one of my drawers and (Excuse my language) but it hurts like a biatch!
Dxx
I know it's because of the ulnar nerve and all that, but isn't it just supposed to tingle when you hit your elbow?
Mine always hurts enough to make me cry, even just a little knock.
Is there anyway to get rid of the pain or do I have to wait it out?

i hate it when you hit it SO hard you can't feel your pinkie at all.
mine makes me want to cry as well, the only thing i can say is hold your hand to it. for some reason the warmth from my hand makes it feel better.

It still friggen hurts!
The pain lasts a good ten to fifteen minutes whenever I smack it, is that unusual?
O.o
So I should try and apply pressure to it?
Or just warmth?
=O

it couldn't hurt to do both, but heat does well with most things.
how hard did you hit it? and was it on a corner or a flat surface?
cuz man. when i move out everything will have a rounded corner; those things are evil!

I'm just holding my hand to it right now, it's quite difficult to type with one hand actually.
xDD
I'm not sure, it was just the handle of my drawer, which is like a squared-circle ended knob in the middle of the drawer.
Amen to that one, my friend, amen to that one.

Omigosh I hate when that happens. ;__; SO NOT FUNNY!
Mine always tingles and tickles and hurts all at the same time.
I find shaking and rolling into a ball going OWOWOWOWGOD usually does the trick until it goes away. ;)

Why can't I have the tingly feeling?
All I get is the stabbing, throbbing, paralyzing pain!
Dxx
I'll be sure to try that next time.

I hate the little knobs on the door handles in this house. They're just about elbow height and I often hurt my elbow when trying to open a door with my arms full of stuff (like laundry or books). D:<
Is it supposed to tingle? I get a shot of pain when I hit my elbow, bad enough to make my arm feel numb.

Apparently it's supposed to range from person to person, from a tingle to a numbing and in some cases (like mine) unbearable pain.
I want the tingle instead!

When I hit my funny bone I scream. Dx
The whole arm goes numb, no matter how hard I actually hit it. It stays like that for at least 5 minutes. xP

Funny, I just got mine hit yesterday. >_< My sister was tossing the remote to me on the other couch, and she managed to hit my funny bone with the remote. I remember the tingly pain shot through my arm, and I felt it in my hand. :gonk:

I feel really smart, because I actually know what the funny bone is, just not why it hurts so damn much when I hit mine.
*ahem*
The term 'funny bone' is actually referring to the scientific name of the bone, 'humerus' aka 'humourous'. The reason it hurts so much, is because there's a clustre of nerves (called ulnar nerves) close to the bone. When you hit your elbow, the nerves knock/rub against the bone, thus causing a tingling (or in my case) incredibly painful feeling throughout the arm and/or hand.
I think that's it, but I could be wrong.
...
Take that Mr. B!
And he said I couldn't handle biology.
PFFT!!

I think that funny bone is a misnomer. >_>; either that or it was named by someone who watched it happen rather than someone who had it happen.
