There's one girl in my biology class. She has a 98. To put that in perspective, I, along with about 3 other people between the 90 students in honors biology with this teacher, have a 95. There are a couple other A's, lots of low B's and high C's, and and some D's and F's. This girl is convinced she failed every quiz or test we take. It is ungodly annoying. It bothers me a bit, too, that she gets such a high grade in a class she doesn't even like. I stress over tests. Everyone in honors classes does, for the most part. Though I'd gladly be around her than the girl in my former lab ground...she pretty much had a panic attack because she didn't know an answer to a question and I took the paper from her to read it myself...then she proceeded to ignore my answer and write the opposite. And we got it wrong. The only time she listens to me is when I precede my suggestion with "I'm not really sure, but..."
Anyway, ever be in classes with people like this? What annoying behavior goes on in your classes?

Some people are neurotic about getting good grades (I used to be one of them due to parental pressure).
Some people are just plain good at school (My bf can listen to a lecture and remember it all WITHOUT notes, NOT study, then get a B+ on the test).
My biggest pet peeve in the classroom? Those students who ask questions when it's totally not necessary. When it's just going to make class longer when the teacher goes on a tangent. When they could have just looked in their own notes or the book.... Or students who take forever to get their answers/thoughts out!
I seem to find most adult students in my college do this!
Anyway there's not much we can do about it other than roll our eyes and doodle funny things in the back of our notebooks until the storm has passed. :o

There was a kid in my grade, who ended up in most of my classes who was completely anal about his grades. (I found it surprising 'cause he was a football player). The whole class would be finished a test or quiz in half and hour and he'd still be working on it an hour later. If we got it back and he got one question wrong, he would go up to the teacher and argue about why it was wrong. His personality sucked to, what a jerk.

I care about my grades. But I'm not going to be a pain in the ass about it. I mean, the girl in my former lab group was only hurting herself. Especially since I was the only one in the group that actually knew a lot about biology...the other two were just along for the ride.
I can get away with minimal studying and no note-taking, but I choose not to. I don't think I studied once in middle school. I do now. To me, it's the difference between being at a comfortable A and struggling to get my B+ up to an A- at the end of the marking period.
I know a few people that have to have their tests pried away from them. I generally don't really check my work in classes other than math. I end up changing right answers more often than I correct wrong ones. My geometry teacher thinks I'm insane because I'm usually the first done.

I have to take notes just because I'm a visual learner. I have to see those words to remember and understand them. Being a music major, my bf just hears the words and remembers them forever! But I actually like taking notes (design/art major) so it's okay.
But yes, I remember when I was in middle school my dad gave me a hard time about a B+ on my report card and I wanted to die. I really worked myself up over grades, until I realized HEY! People a lot dumber than me are getting scholarships and getting into the same college as me. Maybe grades aren't everything.

My friend. Perfect straight A student (over 95%), she freaks over a 9/10 quiz. Not a perfect? She will freak. But then her standards are set so high because she wants to go into medicine... I used to too, and I still do. Last year my marks were low 90s to high 80s. Now, I actually have a reason to freak out because my marks are all below 85 and lowest mark I have so far is 66.6%. Not something I would like to see, especially with my accomplishments last year. Now I am dying completely. My friend on the other hand is getting better than me by tenfolds. Though it's not exactly like what she got last year, I yearn for those high 80s and low 90s again while she is crying over it.... I should be crying!!

know a kid just like that but ....I hate not being able to get an answer right, but i`ll whine at home.XD Otherwise though, whatever.I have a 96 in most classes, thats good enough. This guy in F in a couple of my classes i really whiny. He won`t re-do his work most of the time, even though the format is wrong. And yet teachers always let him off >.> and then he`ll start yelling and being obnoxious if you don`t agree with him.

When I was still in class (and not taking online courses) I used to have classmates who just could NOT grasp the most basic of concepts... and then wonder why they didn't get good grades. Now, I can sympathize if someone is having trouble and realizes they need help; what I'm talking about are the idiots who actually think they have it all figured out.
For example, when I was in Physics lab one day, I got into an argument with one of my lab partners over whether or not someone walking on a treadmill was moving faster or slower than he appeared to be. He insisted that the person would appear to be going faster than he was, even after I explained that if you're watching someone run on a treadmill they don't appear to be going anywhere at all, ie. 0 mph. How is that faster than they're actual speed?
Needless to say, he didn't do so well in class.

There was this one person that I used to know that was like that. I think her parents held high expectations and wanted her to get A+'s in every class. She got a B+ in this one class, and she was freaking out and pratically breaking down. She was crying and throwing a big temper tantrum. I thought "Geez, get a grip." Good thing my parents aren't like that. As long as I get a C or higher it's all good. XD
The most ANNOYING behavior that happens in majority of my classes is cheaters. I hate it when I'm working my ass off and they are getting a free ride because one of the smartest people in the class let's them copy off of them, which then gives the cheater a high grade. It just annoys me. When people cheat off of me, I mark the wrong answers. Once they turn it in, I change it all to the right ones and turn it in. XD!
That'll show them! D:<

I do technically know people like that... but they know better than to do their freaking out around me, if not simply to avoid the smackin'is'dit.
I strictly enforce a moderately laid back attitude towards grades in my presence. Far too many important things in life go unnoticed to allow daily self-inflicted aneurysms over unimportant minutiae. It's cool to worry about your grades as a means to achieve good things in the world, but complaint beyond those concerns usually become masturbatory and self-centered.
It took awhile to get to that level, though. With one particular friend of mine... well, two years ago it was all I could do not to strangle him and/or shout, "AIDs! Death! Disease! Corruption! Loneliness! World Hunger! Incest, abuse, murder!" every time he started kvetching about how utterly ruined his life would be for the results on X or Y minor test. :|
Sorry about your biology-Bane. Hopefully, soon she'll be smacked by a large Perspective-Stick.

I don't experience that a lot. The people in my Advanced classes aren't really like that. Mostly they're the popular people who just have fun living in the moment. We never really worry about tests or studying until after the test and then only if it was scary hard. Most of the time we goof off and tease each other. We all score really well on our tests but we never really have to try. This isn't really because we have easy tests so much as we have really high standards in my school district for the honors classes. We have extremely high standardized test schools for such a small town in Kansas. They're high enough to where people move here for a higher education standard. Really between you guys and me are test scores are because people tend to try harder when they're motivated with something they want, which is pretty much what my school does. last year they bribed us by telling us if we reached our test goal for this year we would get to spend a day in the park next to our school with free ice cream. Naturally our teenage bodies wanted that relaxation time. (Though I'm pretty sure they wanted the Ice cream a lot more...) So we actually tried hard and raised our test scores more than enough. One thing that does annoy me though are the idiots who think they're funny when really they are just plain idiots. I know this one guy who goes out of his way to annoy me like this by coming up to me and spouting the most useless and random crap he can come up with! I swear to god, one day he came up to me and said, "Tickle me Elmo eats babies and molests people in they're sleep." I couldn't even walk down the Walmart Toy Isle for like a month after that without getting chills down my spine. I could've sworn those stinking Elmo eyes were following me...

I am sorry, but I just want to throttle those people. There are a few girls in my class that freak out if they get lower than a 95%. I would love to see their reaction if they got a C or a D or *GASP* and F once in a while.
Then, there are the people who do so well and screw up the curve for the rest of the class (Although, I do that for my Chemistry class just because I pick up on it really easily).
I know I must fustrate some people because in most of my classes I rarely take notes and still get As and Bs.
I live by 'You can do well in school, but still fail life.'

the annoying ones pride themselves on grades, i did too i had a bit of pride but wasn't annoying since in highschool i was practically mute.
i used stress over grades in highschool, up late getting home work done, was good in math especially physics, used to have 100%, but then i got lazy and my grades dropped at first i was upset but then i was like whatever. ok my grades are dropping but at least i have perfect attendance. didn't miss a day from grade 6 to the end of grade 12, was 1 of 3 who graduated 2005 with perfect attendance.
i went to college for a year--Art-- but cause i couldn't write essays to save my live i was put on 'educational probation' kinda liked how they said that instead of expelled for a year >.> bleh...like come on the art history textbook was thicker than the width of my hand and weighed like 15 pounds, doesn't seem that heavy but for a book it is, i carried it home in my backback and when i got home and put down my bag my knees buckled, my legs became weak from carrying that damn (pardon me) damn heavy book >.<
now i'm like *whatever* grades school, what will you remember what is really gonna be useful, i've forgotton most of it now anyways.

*sigh* Sadly I knew people like that in school. They think they need a certain grade everytime or *gasp* they didn't get the grade they wanted! It's probably because they have high standards, and they're afraid their parents will look down on them if they don't reach them.
It has to be perfect to them. There are people who get lower, but still decent grades, and don't complain like they do.
I hate people who think that they can just whizz the class by copying off someone elses' hard work, also. People would always ask me if they could have my paper to copy, and I would say no. They might throw a tantrum, but hey, they need to do the work themselves rather than rely on other people to do it for them.

I can't say she was like that all the time but...
There was this one test were everyone got a B or lower, but she was fussing because she got an A-
This was back in middle school mind you, and everyone took the same science (no honors classes), and she MOPED around because she got an A!
I almost wanted to hit her.

Yeah people like that drive me crazy. They are always complaining that they think they failed the test and then they get 100%. Very annoying.
But what annoys me even more are the type like my BF who don't study or put any work into anything and come out with A+ in everything. Like I could study and put a ton of work into something and he will spend 5 min and get a better mark. I love him don't get me wrong it just annoys me that I have to work to get a good mark and others can just get it without doing any work.

Oh...man I can just go on and on about class behavior due to it is one of those things that I pick up rather quickly due to where I started for education level.
Myself: I'm one of those people that stress out fairly easy over a lot of things involving my grades. Due to my mom's pressure is for most of the fault.
General classes: I find loud speaking people annoying due to when they want to talk during class they don't even bother to whisper they just speak. So I have to crane further to hear the teacher. I really only one class that I can just kinda check out is history due to my passion for the subject. I just people in general who talk out of turn or just start randomly talk just god damn annoying(sorry for my tongue).

Right now I am sitting next to this really annoying kid that won't stop talking or singing or whatever to himself, it's very annoying and very distracting.
In my chem class, there is this one REALLY annoying kid that asks the same questing between 10-15 times before moving on.
.__. It drives me and everyone else in the class nuts, and it's making our class fall behind farther than we already are!
DX I'm already doing poorly in that class, and he just makes it soooo much worse.

Ha, i'm like that except it's actually true, lmao, so I guess i'm not really?
But some people said that if you say you didn't do good on it; you actually get a good mark O:
But in my class it's the opposite, this girl is in my class for chemistry, biology and math, but it's college classes, not university.
Anyways, she always brags and says she's so smart, but she's not, how do I know?
Well in bio, when my teacher was reading the names who failed and he called her name and she was the only one that failed that was here the day we did it, cuz the others weren't. It was hilarious to see her face drop when she heard her name, I smirked at her cuz she said she was so smart, but she's not.

Natural geniuses are definitely annoying. You have to kill yourself to do well at anything, and they just execute anything like they were born knowing it. I had a friend who was like that. She was convinced that she did poorly on everything, and then she'd ace it. She's still like that. It goes beyond grades. Her self-esteem is so low it pisses me off. I would tell constantly that she was a genius and their was nothing to worry about. She'd hear nothing of it. Eventually I got sick and tired of it. I don't talk to her anymore.

I didn't know anyone in my AP Environmental Class so I got stuck with the girl I HATE the most. I have no clue what I did to her, but she seriously hates me. She ignores me as if I'm not in her group since we're a group of 3, I was orginally partnered with this other girl who's really nice but she dropped the class, which sucks. Anyway, she acts as if she's in a group of 2 with the other girl who i think is kind of nice, but when they're together, they're both mean.
I get stuck doing all the work. All they do is sit and talk at the lab table while I grab the equipment I need. Then when it comes to grading papers, she unfortunately grades my paper and I end up seeing the teacher like every frickin time we grade papers because she'll mark things rock that aren't even wrong. ARG, it's so frustrating!

I don't mind natural geniuses. I mind neurotic behavior. Stressing over getting every single question one-hundred-percent correct is neurotic. If you consistently churn out near-perfect work, be happy, don't ruin everyone else's day just because your glass is "only" nineteen twentieths full.
