Well it's kind of obvious that I speak English. The only other language I can speak almost fluently is Thai. My English isn't that great, so bear with me :(
Currently I am learning Spanish at school, but even after five years of learning it I'm still not that great..

Iltu 11-16-2008 05:06 AM

I speak English, and... very halting Spanish. I can read written stuff pretty well, and write stuff pretty well also, but if you ask me to understand something being spoken... Haha. Ha. D: I'm awful at that.

There's so many languages I want to learn, though! Latin, French, German, Russian, Japanese, Dari, Farsi, Pashto, Icelandic, Gaelic, Portugese, Italian, Mandarin, Greek, Swedish, Arabic, Polish, Hindi, and more! If only I had the time/brain capacity to speak so many languages. :P I am going to teach myself Russian soon, by using those self-teach software things. I have some books on it as well, a Russian dictionary and a book of Russian root words... I want to pick up some more gramatical books as well. So hopefully I'll be able to get somewhere without a teacher, and then I'll be able to take Russian in college. :) ...We'll see.

I suck

Abeo 11-17-2008 02:44 AM

I speak English (fluently, of course), Spanish pretty decently, and I'm learning German right now. This year I'm taking Spanish II and German I at my school, but they're pretty easy. I think it gets a lot easier to learn a language when you've learned two (or more, I guess).

I speak Spanish and English, I took Japanese classes since year 3 in primary school until year 10 in high school. Uh, I started speaking English and Spanish at the same time but I decided to concentrate on writing and reading English, since in Australia, thats the main language we speak, and learning both at the same time was really confusing for me as a six year old. I had really bad English marks for a while. xD I can read and speak a bit of Spanish but it takes me a while to figure out what's being said due to my small Spanish vocabulary, I can't write any spanish though. xD;; Anyway, yeah, since year 3 I had Japanese classes, I know more about the culture than the language though.. but I can speak a small amount, I know somewhere in my notes theres stuff about how to ask 'How much does this cost?' 'Can I eat this?' 'How do I get to.....'. xD; We were learning travel phrases in year 10 since we were going to go on a Japan trip, then it got cancelled. TwT

Professor Lily 11-18-2008 02:13 PM

I speak English. I know a little Spanish, I have not really spoke it to much since high school.

Fae 11-18-2008 04:21 PM

Well I speak English natively. I took five years of Spanish in elementary school but my teachers were awful so it sorta turned me off to that. I also took a year of American Sign Lauangauge in high school which I think i'm fairly good at. At the moment i'm learning Japanese care of the Rosetta Stone my friend gave me.

Teriyaki Stars 11-18-2008 10:42 PM

D: Only fluent in English.

I know bits of Spanish from taking a class and my mom teaching me bits when I was little. And from all the Mexican people that my mom hung out with. xD

I know bits and pieces of Japanese. :0 In some Mangas I can understand bits if I use Character Map, otherwise I'm just like "o.o;; whut??"
With Animes I recognize some words and phrases, but I still need the subtitles to understand everything. xD;;

I'm an English speaker but I do know French but not enough to carry on a conversation but I could likely read it if there are enough familar words in it(Only had two years of it). I can read Spanish pretty well even though I never had a year of it, might be due to French shares some words with Spanish I can read it but I can't speak it other than simple one worded sentences. I also have a good grasp of understanding bits of German, I blame my listening of Rammstein got me to be pretty good. Yet I can't speak a sentence of it, I can read it but that only gets me so far.

Shinigami Yumi 11-22-2008 03:56 AM

In order of fluency: English, Cantonese, Malay, Japanese, Mandarin, German and French. =3
Lack of practice means I'm not very good at speaking German and French anymore, but I can still read quite a bit and understand if you speak slowly.
Conversely, I can speak Japanese and Cantonese/Mandarin decently, but my memory of Chinese characters (kanji in Japanese) is rather poor, so I can't read very well in either language.

I have spoken english my whole life and when I was in primary school and high school I was studying German. But after the first two years of high school I dropped it because we had a chioce to continue it or not and I didn't. The good thing is that after five years of not studying it I can still remember the stuff i learnt.
