When I was little, I would have said harry potter or pokemon xD
Now, I don't read about anywhere that you'd actually want to be . . . |
Wow...I was already a teenager when harry potter came out.
You wanna know where I want to escape to still to this day? Wonderland. And I don't mean this pg version Disney put out. I mean Lewis Carroll's original version. The true twisted version that was all about the lose of innocence and insanity and how things were topsy turvy. The world was anything you wanted it to be and it still had its own form of rules and government and punishment. It was fantastic. It was raw, harsh, and horrible. Think about it. As a child if you ran into that kind of world you would be seriously traumatized when you got back to reality. Nothing would be the same. And that's the most fantastic part of it all. Either that or I'm just messed up. |
If I could escape into any story it would be Peter Pan hands down. Getting to be in a distant *fictional* land where pirates, mermaids, and fairies exist would be awesome. Also since you can escape to stories you can most likely be a different character each time and live out their role. But the best part of it is you can fly around and harass Captain Hook. XD I'm a real big kid inside but that book would be amazing to actually be a part of. >w<
If I had to pick another I guess it would be Howl's Moving Castle *yes, I read it even before it was being made into a movie. XD Dianna Wynne Jones was one of my favorite authors so I was very excited* because here you have witches, wizards, curses to break, etc. Although in the book the world turned out to be a video game and Howl was actually a person who role played the story Sophie was a part of. *at least what I gathered although I was very confused when I got to that part*. I do prefer the Miyazaki version best but the book is still fun to read. ^ ^ |
I would go into one of my all time favorite games:
Summon Night: Swordcraft Story I love the town in it, a mix of fantasy, medieval and almost a steampunkish look to it. Plus everything you do in the game appeals to me: Making weapons, fighting demons with your own demon friend at your side, rising in rank from apprentice to master, all of it. I also recommend it to anyone that has a gba/gba emulator. |
I'd have to say the world of the Crestomanci series. It's wacky but it's enough like our own that I wouldn't freak. Plus, there's magic!
|
Yeah, you've gotta love the magic. It's so freakin' cool!
|
Maybe twilight? It would be cool to see them live so close.
|
I would jump into "Gone with the Wind". I probably wouldn't have fit in very well in the old South, but I would have gotten along well with Scarlett. Of course, when the Civil War started, I'd jump ahead to the follow up, "Scarlett".
|
I'd most definitely choose one of Yuu Watase's mangas (Absolute Boyfriend, Fushigi Yuugi, Alice 19th, etc.) just because I was obsessed with them for such a long time.
|
Right now...I'd say just about any Fantasy novel.
But, if I'd chose a manga I'd have to say...Gintama <3 |
If it had to be a book.... I'd probably go into the world of Harry Potter. Even with all that conflict going on, those books were really good, and plus there's MAGIC, and magic classes. That's a plus. |
uhmm...never thought of..
but maybe mermaid?.. im going to be one of them ^^ id like to be able to breathe in the ocean, and enjoy the scene  |
um, um, TOM AND JERRY! LOL
Because everything's funny and stupid and no one ever dies :3 |
Wow, I'd escape into one of my own stories that I write. I pretty much do now, but they seem.. so much better than real life I guess. I mean, you always end up with stories where the characters live happily ever after, no death or anything.
|
This isn't really a book, but I would jump into Star Wars in a heartbeat, so long as I could be a Jedi. And I'm talking original trilogy, btw.
I have always wanted to do that since...age 6 I think. xD |
I dunno.. some kind of story where protagonists always win and evil is always defeated by the good chars. Gotta be filled with happy ending and sappy stuff. With magic powers, because I would love to have magic powers.
|
oh yeahh.....and theres a lot of places i would go
|
I'd like to be in the book called The Catcher in the Rye. Holden (the main character) seems like an interesting guy. I'd like to go into that book and some how relate to him.
oh and i'd also like to go into the book called The Loin the Witch and the Wardrobe. I love that book. The story has such an awesome adventure! I wanna be apart of it. xD Quote:

Neverending story!
j/k I would probably go into the entire Forgotten Realms world. I would summarily die a horrible and probably kobold infested death. But I would enjoy every minute of it! *except for the horrible kobold infested death that would prolly suck* Or The Wheel of Time series. Sa' Angral here I come! I'd like to be one of the legendary heros brought forth from the weave. Rock on! Or the Otherland series! Getting trapped in the internet and trying to figure out how to escape, all the while you get to travel to surreal worlds where you can make anything happen. That is a good book series right there. |
I think I would like to escape into a fantasy novel, especially because I find mythical creatures amazing, and it'd be really cool to be around them or actually be one.
|
Strait into Bleach and I'd immediately couple Ichigo and Uryuu!
Yes, I'm a yaoi fangirl and my favorite pair is Ichigo x Uryuu~! And I would trip Aizen, dump water on Captain Yamamoto, give a mirror to the blind captain who's name I've forgotten, put a fire with Touchiro and Kuchiki (Rukia, not her elder brother) and slap Orihime in the face for being an emo :XP ... I guess it's a good thing that I can't get into Bleach  |
I know this is going to sound geeky, but I would definitely escape into a Harry Potter book and just....follow Severus Snape around.Either that, Or I'd escape into Half Way to the Grave by Jeaniene Frost.
|
What, I'm already here, aren't I? Isn't this interesting enough to count as a story?
But if you mean the more papery kind of story, I suppose I'm rather fond of Terry Pratchett's Discworld. |
Not a book-story, but still a story - the Doctor Who universe would be a brilliant place to end up. You could be anywhere: at any time, any place, doing either something amazing, or something horribly exciting... it wouldn't ever get boring, at least. :] Obviously there would be drawbacks, and it would be scary sometimes and there's the risk of, you know, dying or something, but I think it would be worth it. <3 |
I would definetly like to go into the world of Twilight. It's such an amazing series and I would just love to be a vampire or werewolf :3
