Just curious... What at this moment are you listening to?

I'm listening to David Bowie, song called suffraggette city. XD haha.

Now I'm listening to Hot snakes.

If you had to pick between the music genres which would you pick?

I'm currently listening to 'Elephant Gun' - by Beirut.

As for genre, well . . . this is my kind of music! there it's simpler to link you to a playlist of mine. You can just tell from that what kind of music I prefer. I don't like a lot of main stream shit. My favorite artist is Tori Amos!

But I so falling in love with Beirut' music, seriously I love their style. Listen to 'A Sunday Smile' it's on that playlist I linked. I love that song, one of my favorites by Beirut.

Oh and listen to 'Boy with a Coin' - by Iron & Wine!

My cat ripping apart a plastic bag, so she can make a bed to sleep on. I think she's dragging it inside a box. x.-

As for what genre I'd pick, that is a tough question. Mine would either be metal or country, which are my two favorite genres. After that, I like a little of the mainstream crap, but not much. I will listen to just about anything, to be honest, as long as it isn't gangster rap, and it doesn't sound like a piece of ice going through a bandsaw.

I'm the same way justin, least when it comes to music. I'll listen to just about anything, I like all kinds of music but I won't lie I like alternative kind of stuff. Not your main stream styles of music.

I usually don't listen to much mainstream either. But, if the lyrics are good, and the tune is half decent, I'll listen.

What's your favorite alternative band? Mine would have to be Imogen Heap, if you count them as alternative.

Mine is a singer, Tori Amos but the list includes several others. MGMT, Beirut, I like Imogen Heap as well. ^___^' Um, Iron & Wine . . . Oh I like operatic singers as well, Sarah Brightman is one of my favorites.

I like folk too, Nelly Furtado BEFORE she sold herself out and literally paid someone to change her image. I loved her folk music, she was far better years ago then she is now.
Butterfly Boucher, Sarina Rider, Jars of Clay, Yani, Blue October (I like their older stuff, I wasn't a fan of their more recent albums), Burlap to Cashmere, Depeche Mode, Architecture In Helsinki, Feist, Leeland, Cloud Cult.
I love my oldie bands too . . . ^____^'
Tear for fears, The Cranberries (seriously love them, ever since I was a kid.), Jefferson Airplane. There are more I just can't remember all of them!
There a random unordered list of bands and singers I love! Yourself, any bands or singers you care to share. I'm always looking for new music to listen to!

Well, to list all the bands I listen to would take awhile. I'll just list what bands have my iPod full right now.

I have Alexisonfire, Amorphis, Avenged Sevenfold, Basshunter, Big & Rich, Black Sabath, Blue October, Boys Like Girls, Buckcherry, Brad Paisely, Cascada, DJ Sammy, Dragon Force, Fall Out Boy, Flyleaf, Good charlotte, Gorillaz, Hinder, Imogen Heap, Incubus, Katy Perry, Lamb of God, Meat Loaf, Megadeth, My hecmical Romace, OneRepublic, Pantera, Paramore, Rammstein, Rascal Flats, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Serj Tankian, and a song by T.I and Rihanna (Live your Life.)

Ya, I'm an all-around kind of person.

Gah, that's one of the hardest questions yet. I'd probably just stick to my contemporary rock since Paramore dwells there. [ONLY if I HAD to pick]

They're one of my favorite bands to listen to while I play CoD4. I either listen to them, or a song by dope.

I have this cute little bubbly song I listen to when I play CS! Keeps me focused, though it doesn't matter I suck as it either way!

I usually listen to music that is smooth and if not repetitive when I'm gaming. Something that makes noise but doesn't distract me from my game. Unless I'm playing WoW, then I can listen to songs I can sing along to. Gives you something to distract you from the fact they you're grinding your brains out . . . I want the servers back up from maintenance damn it! Sickly enough I want to get the damn grind from lvl.77 to lvl.78 over with, then I'm that much closer to 80!

Bleck. I don't like WoW. I've played it for like, three hours, then dropped it like a hot potato. One of my friends is addicted to WoW to the point that he isn't really my friend anymore, as well.

Repitition in Music actually tends to help me in video games. Depending on the map.

Yeah, I get that from a lot of people. I hate the people who hate the game for the sheer fact that someone is addicted to it. It's not the games fault, don't hate it! WoW has it's ups, it's a great game if you're into that kind of gaming! Sorry, I defend my favorite game, people are to hard on it! I don't hear people bashing Guild Wars, sides saying its just a bad copied attempt of WoW! XD

Anyways, it does help, it's background noise keeps you level I think. Techno is the best for that, I like a constant beat, not to many drastic changes in tempo or random change in the over all sound. Techno with lyrics fucks me up when gaming, if the song in awkward. There are some with lyrics that are fine but there are other that are just WTF if this shit!

I don't hate WoW because of my friends addiction. I dislike him for his WoW addiction. I'll admit that WoW is a well-designed game, with half-decent gameplay. It just doesn't take any true skill, in my opinion. I mean, to kill an enemy, you click on him, and just watch your guy kick ass.

FPS games take true skill. You need to get your aim spot on, find out the best places, figure out shortcuts, etc. RTS/TBS games take a lot of strategy, as well, so I enjoy them.

Personal preference, I guess.

I am currently listening to Fonthene from the game Opoona. It has a nice, jazzy feel to it that's perfect for kicking back and writing.

I will be locking this thread for two reasons:
1. There is already a what are you listening to thread in the Music Forum. Here
2. There is a lot of off-topic discussion going on.
